if we end up with these 3 players from Ole Miss, it would be more like a Top 5.
EDIT: FIRST!!!!!!

If you're talking about transfers, I'm not sure they're counted in the recruiting rankings (at least aside from JuCo transfers).
December 5th, 2017 at 11:12 AM ^
I know they don't count, was just making a joke.
December 5th, 2017 at 10:54 AM ^
Hope we can get that part figured out here real quick as all the “lesser” recruiting schools that beat us every year laugh at our paper champion recruiting titles.
Flame away.
December 5th, 2017 at 11:08 AM ^
We just want to win in the recruiting rankings.
Of course, the fact that our 2014 and 2015 classes flamed out has nothing to do with our team losing big games in the clutch moments. There is no correlation between veteran leadership and clutch plays in college football.

to win
we need to do well to overcome our 2014 and 2015 classes
the bulk of our players are coming from the 2016 and 2017 classes
once we fill that hole we should do better on the field as well

Stability is nice. Now we need to use it to our advantage and better that ranking.
December 5th, 2017 at 10:29 AM ^
So it moves up by default and not because of quality. Got it.

Class will finish ~15 when it's all said and done unless we close on some blue chips.

Okay, thanks. Now there isn't any hope to look forward to, dick.

and arrives in Ann Arbor ready to take on (not necessarily take over) the QB duties for the 2018 campaign, it will only happen because Coach Jim is not ready to give the car keys to either Brandon or Dylan.
By contrast, a sports writer in the Atlanta paper said yesterday that despite his true-freshman status, Georgia's Jake Fromm matches up well with the other three QBs in the playoffs, even "occasional knucklehead" Baker Mayfield. Fromm, says columnist Steve Hummer, has several "unquantifiable gifts," including "the ability at such a tender age to instill belief that no matter what problems the playoffs may present, he'll figure it out."
IMHO had Brandon Peters convinced Coach Jim that he, Peters, possessed similiar leadership qualities, he would have gone in for Speight in the Purdue game, just as freshman Fromm replaced an injured Jake Eason in the App State (!) game. Then with a hotshot Peters at the helm, M would have no doubt beaten Sparty and coulda, shoulda taken at least one of Badgers-Buckeyes. PSU I don't know about; that seemed more of then-OC Moorehead's plan to exploit defensive matchups rather than offensive limitations. But M would have been more competitive with a more competitive QB.
In any event, Brandon has now had some combat experience. That blindside shot he took in Madison might have resulted in a sudden, maturational growth spurt. We'll see on New Year's Day, and best of luck to him.

happening w Alabama's class? why so low?
December 5th, 2017 at 11:25 AM ^
My conspiracy theory--remember you heard it here first (!)--is that Saban is retiring in 2-3 years and is therefore devoting less time and resources to recruiting future classes. Remember Spurrier's last recruiting classes at Florida and South Carolina were both subpar. Bobby Bowden's recruiting fell off his last few years. My bet is that Alabama's recruiting starts falling off relative to the last 10 years.
December 5th, 2017 at 12:20 PM ^
It will inevitably happen. Bama won't be on top forever. I am old enough to remember that they went from great to a long period of irrelevance and back to great again. It always goes in cycles.
December 5th, 2017 at 11:44 AM ^
Alabama is NOTORIOUS for snagging 3-4 five stars on NSD every year. They will be #1 or #2. If they're #2 it's because OSU is #1.
In other words, their low ranking will not last long.
December 5th, 2017 at 12:46 PM ^
yup. the biggest recruits announce on NSD, and Bama is always in on the biggest recruits.
