As far as OL coaching, things can only improve. Last year there seem to be major confusion on assignments and techniques. I think Ed will do a good job coaching which will improve our OL, may be not up to pre 2007 Michigan standards but at least average B1G performance.

06/22/2018 - 1:16am Pay back from our only…

Pay back from our only blowout loss last year. I hope we shut them out 45-0. If we have any chance of winning the B1G we need to beat PSU at home. I'd like to beat WI at home as well but if there is a home game we can lose it would against WI.

Or that Mo had changed  his mind about the NBA and was heading back to Michigan for his senior season.

If Michigan beats OSU, of course Michigan will be B1G east division winners by any tie breakers. If OSU defeats Michigan, there's not a chance they will take Michigan over OSU, especially if OSU defeats the west division's team in the B1G championship game.  Now, if there are only few other one loss teams out there,  Michigan's strength of schedule will help possibly getting the 4th big over a weak conference champion in the PAC12 or Big 12.

I went with Hulu 3 years ago. As long as they keep the Big 10 network, I'll keep them. My wife likes having more cable TV options with Hulu.  For the sports package, I was paying close to $300/mo with my cable company. I still keep their high speed internet which is only $80.00 month, so I cut my bill in half.

I always though Kalamazoo was a nice town, at least 30 years ago when I lived in the state. Detroit and Flint does not surprise me.

06/13/2018 - 8:12am A MS degree at Michigan…

A MS degree at Michigan would be great for George, and if he wants to try out for QB more power to  him. Peters should not be threatening to leave the program if he is not the starter. That kind of talk is no way to win Harbaugh over. You have to earn the starting job and it is possible Peters has the talent to do so but if Shea beats him out then Peters can make his decision based on where he finishes in the roster against Dylan. If Shea has a great year he probably is NFL bound next spring. If Peters stays he could battle it out against Dylan and George. Though, Peters will probably transfer is he is the 3rd or 4th string QB this season.

06/11/2018 - 11:12am Given how great our Defense…

Given how great our Defense will be our floor will be 8-4. The five tough games on our schedule, @ND, WI, @MSU, PSU and @OSU. Out of these tough games I doubt we would lose all 5 of them that is why the floor this season is 8 wins, even if our offense sucks again. Odds are is that we will split the tough games and finish the season at 10 wins. However, if Shea turns into a good QB and our OL improves,  I think we could 11 or 12 games and win the B1G.  I think we may lose a tough opening game at ND and we may have a tough loss to WI but could win the rest of our games. We then would play WI again in the B1G championship game and I think we will beat WI.

06/10/2018 - 9:01pm George RR Martin new book…

George RR Martin new book has or will come out in the next month called fire and blood. I've been waiting for that 6th book but this one goes way back in time to when the Targaryen kings ruled. Kind of a disappointment, since I've been waiting for the Winds of Winter.

Very true if we had an average QB, the only loss would probably be @PSU.

All I had to do was change my password. Old password would not work on the new site.  But overall a thumbs up to the new site.

06/04/2018 - 3:12am Most of knew the awful recruting at the end of the Hoke era

was going to come up and bite us in 2017. I expect the team to improve this season. The younger talent will have more experience and getting a talented QB like Shea may be the break through piece of the puzzle. Michigan will be in the B1G race due to our great defense, and if Shea can score some points we may have a fantastic season. I still think position depth building will continue and our 2019 class we be dependent on  how well we do this season. Win the B1G and make the playoffs we will end up with a top 5 class. Win 9 games and a bowl game we will do well recruiting and the coaching staff will have to work hard to find those 3* prospect with high upsides. The trend will be for Harbaugh to turn Michigan back into a true contender for B1G championships as well as national championships. I can't believe there are fans already jumping ship. Don't worry we'll let you back on after we start winning a lot of the big games.

06/04/2018 - 2:55am Also having a starting QB

who could not hit open receivers 10 to 30 yards down field don't win you games as well.

06/04/2018 - 2:48am The defense let a freshmen QB

make big plays to take the lead. Our weakness on defense last season was in part our secondary, more so the safeties. The '97 team held the lead against OSU.  I hope our defense just creams them in Columbus. It would be great to see a repeat of the '76 game where we shut those bastards out in Columbus 22-0.

06/04/2018 - 2:35am One of my favorite commercials back when I was a kid

Also back in the 70s we could beat OSU at leas half the time. Hopefully Harbaugh will get our program back to winning 10 or more games and at having a .500 record against OSU.

06/04/2018 - 2:27am My guess

But the third may be Wheatley. I think he is currently the number 4 or 5 TE. Too bad he got injured last season. I was hoping he would be the one to replace Butt as the go to TE who could both block and receive well.

06/04/2018 - 2:03am The pecking order will not be decided

until summer camp. There is no guarantee that Shea will win the starting job, though I think he will be the favorite. The real battle will be between Peters and Dylan for the backup role. I doubt Peters will quit the team before the summer season. If he is the 3rd or 4th string after summer camp he will likely transfer after he graduates.

06/02/2018 - 2:21am Mark Messner

Because he kicked my ass when we played Hartland HS and he was a 10th grader playing varsity back in 1981. I was a 240 lb 6'3 OT and he pushed me back 5 yards every play. I'm glad he followed me to Michigan. I was way too slow to play for Michigan.

05/30/2018 - 2:17am 2018 is only Harbaugh's third full recruting class

We'll have a very solid defense, likely as good or even better than last season. This season will all depend on how the offense comes together. We have talent now at QB, WR, TE, RB. The only weak or undeveloped area is the OL. I could see this season ranging from 7 to 12 wins. I think we'll 10-2 or 9-3 but if the offense improves, we may go 11-1 or 12-0. Even if Harbaugh goes 8-4 or 9-3 he will continue to recruit quality players to build depth. The top recruits will only sign with a winner (a team that makes the playoff or has an upward trajectory), so if we finish 3rd or 4th in the B1G east, we'll probably miss out on a lot of top recruits but Harbaugh will find the good 3-4* players to continue building the program. 2019, we lose a lot on defense but our offense should be much improved. Eventually Harbaugh will win his fair share of big games, especially if he ends up coaching at Michigan the next 15 years.

05/30/2018 - 1:34am If Harbaugh goes

7-5 or 8-4 this season, I don't think he will be fired. He may just throw in the towel and said I tried my best here and things did not work out, as he is hired on as a HC for some NFL team.

05/28/2018 - 2:14am I would like the line judge put the football down

where we stop OSU on 4th and 1. If we would have beaten OSU we would have won the B1G east, since we beat PSU head to head and we would have beaten WI again in the B1G championship game. Just getting into the playoffs would have made for a lot more excitement for our team nationally. Harbaugh would be a couple years ahead of transforming our program back to a perennial top 10 team in the country.

05/28/2018 - 1:46am On paper

2018 has more talent. 2016 had more experience and our veteran WR really helped out Wilton. I hope the younger kids start performing up to their talent levels, especially on offense. I like having probably the best defense in the B1G. This will keep us close in the tough games and if our offense can score more points we will be in the running for B1G champions.

05/27/2018 - 2:22am The only D that will be close to ours

is OSU. It will take a great coaching job by Jim to beat OSU on the road.  May be Shea will surprise us and be a world beater. For once it would be great heading into the OSU game with the better QB. I thought we did in '06 but I hope Shea becomes great for us to win the B1G.

05/25/2018 - 2:23am I'm sure

he will man up. If Genghis Khan can have 30,000 kids in 12 years and 500 wives. I'm sure this guy can handle two.

05/25/2018 - 2:08am Why even get married

He could have 100s of girlfriends.

05/25/2018 - 2:05am That's what happened to

frankenweiner. He said the reattachment made him 3" longer.

05/24/2018 - 12:21pm I expect a low scoring game.

Until the OL proves they can block against a good DL. But I think our FG kicker is better and will win the game 13 - 9. ND will probably only score FG on our D, and the only reason they may be down in our end of the field may be due to a few TO.

05/24/2018 - 1:21am I was saying the same thing about MSFT

during the 90s until it crashed after the dot com bubble. I doubt I would have been able to get out. In the long run, it is better to be an investor than a trader.

05/24/2018 - 1:06am Hopefully

You can retire before the next bear market or you have 5 years left after the bear market before you retire. It will be tricky for some planning on retiring in the next 5 years. We are over due for the next bear market cycle and the bull market was probably prolonged by the slow growth on main-street. I agree with you that the best retirement savings is through a low cost index fund in the long run.  I just wish investing was as easy, since online investing started in the mid 90s, when I first started working in the mid 80s. I feel like missed out on some extra retirement $$$. If you can I would max out your 401K savings, or at least go 10 percent.

05/24/2018 - 12:52am I rember buying Amozon

I remember buying Amozon in July and selling it right after Turkey Day, I idid this from 2000 - 2010, made for some good holiday cash. Now I wish I would have just doubled down and held on to this stock. I still play stocks and have a nice portfolio of 4 to 5 stocks I trade and will play different sectors. I  use to to options but in the old days, you had to spend a lot of time on getting the right puts and calls. I gues it is easiery now a days and when I have more time I may get back in options. If you do not have the knowledge you can lose a lot of money. My  401K is all in S&P index funds, and if I feel a bear market is about to begin I have a good bond market fund to drop into. I've avoided the dot com/911 and 2008 bear markets. I think we are in good shape for a year or two more  but watch out when main street begins to top out and it heading there. Fall '18 through Fall '19, I've issued a bear market watch. It will be another 40 percent drop in the S&P, but will eventually recover after 3 or 4 years. So, if you just forget about it you will be ahead in the long run with a good index fund. I'm within 10 years until I retire and hope my experience will help me out to avoid the next bear market, since I may only have another 5 or 6 years to go waiting for the next bull market.

05/23/2018 - 10:55am If JOK

Had average QB numbers we would have had only 1 loss against PSU.  I hope Petterson can be above average and if he is, we could win the B1G this year given our excellent defense.

05/23/2018 - 1:40am Bo groomed his successor

and it was Mo. Carr did a good job but did not groom a successor. It was just like I want to retire and I don't have anyone to take over the program. I know Carr did not want Les as the next coach. I don't think he was thrilled with RR.

05/21/2018 - 12:44pm Runyan

would be my sleeper pick as well. He played well even though he was injured. I'm he has been in the weight room for the past 4 months. I would be great if he can step in at RT and play good.

05/20/2018 - 9:43pm I agree

The '69 game probably had the largest talent gap and Bo beat OSU on motivating his team. Bo finally caught up to OSU talent wise by the '72 season.  The last two seasons have been tough losses. I was a bit surprised the team came out so flat in '15, Harbaugh's first  year. I hope things chance in the future and we can take the upper hand or at least play .500 in this series. The only time we beat them in the last 10 years was during their no coach season.

05/20/2018 - 9:35pm The last two seasons

Seem to be more of team confidence factor. When we were up during the last two seasons, we did not make the big play to put OSU away. Then the team seem to lose confidence and momentum swugn back to OSU late in both games. Hopefully, this will change this year or for sure by '19. I'm getting sick of losing to OSU and MSU most of the time.

05/20/2018 - 5:06pm I'm finally starting lose my hair

Should I shave my head or buy a hair piece.  I just don't like the receding or bald on top look with side hair.

05/20/2018 - 5:01pm I say another 20 years

I could see Harbaugh coaching into his mid 70s at Michigan. I bet he has all 10 of fingers filled with national championship rings by then.

05/20/2018 - 12:23am In due time Harbaugh will do the same

Beilein has been to a couple championship games. When Harbaugh wins the B1G and makes the playoffs, then he will finally pull in more elite player.s Give Harbaugh some time, the football program was in dumps when Harbaugh took over. Beilein has our basketball program in great shape after some time and I'm sure Harbaugh will do the same for our football program.

05/16/2018 - 12:14am Question

would be my favorite MB song. I remember first hearing it on CKLW 800 AM rock station back when I was 7, probably came out in '69 or '70? I remember hearing the old LZ songs on CKLW, use to be the top rock station before they changed formats in '74. Then WRIF became my favorite rock station. I wonder if Arthur P is still on the air?

05/16/2018 - 12:14am Question

05/16/2018 - 12:02am Boneyard, Hair, Lithium and Love the new Turbo

I always toggle between Boneyard, Hair, Lithium and Turbo. I used to like classic vinyl but they went a lot lighter with easy 70s music, I miss hearing the harder LZ songs on classic vinyl. Turbo has the new good rock from the 90s through 2010. Back when I use to listen to Octane but the new harder rock sucks. Sometimes I'll switch to liquid metal but some of those songs are just too growly but you may catch some Metallica or Slayer.

05/15/2018 - 11:49pm Tigers are the surpise team of early summer

The central division is so dreadful, a team playing .500 ball may take this division.

05/13/2018 - 2:23pm LOL ask OSU last season

about their big blow out, implosion and embarrassing loss. At least the Michigan game came down to the last minute.

05/13/2018 - 2:20pm If the refs would have

made the right call on 4th and short, Michigan would have been in the playoffs.

05/13/2018 - 2:13pm Once Harbaugh makes the playoffs our recruiting

will take a giant leap. Let's face it,  the top players are only going to choose the teams they think will win the national championship. Right now Michigan is not one of those  teams. May be it is possible this season but more likely in 2019. If we continue at 8-4 or 9-3 we are not going to really improve on recruiting. But Harbaugh can whip out good teams even with 3 star talent. So, I'm still optimistic that Harbaugh will turn around our football program.-

05/13/2018 - 2:02pm Especially when we were up 2 TDs

and one good scoring drive may have put the game away. But the D failed when they let the OSU freshman QB pick them apart.  I sure hope our Safeties play is better. We need someone to stop the easy scores. It is a shame since the D plays excellent for about 95 percent of the game but often let big plays beat them. If our D was a true top D, we would have beaten WI and OSU, no matter how poorly our offense played.

05/13/2018 - 1:57pm The QBs left open WR

all year.  Against WI, there were wide-open WR and TE as well. May be the lack of blocking had something to do with with Peters inaccuracies. I think something went wrong with JOK, he digressed through his college career.

05/13/2018 - 12:04am My guess

Shea will win the starting job. The number 2 spot will be a battle between Peters and Dylan. Due to our potential OL problems it is great to have 3 QBs who can start. I would not be surprised to see Joe in the wildcat formation.

05/09/2018 - 8:16am I don't get to travel much anymore

As a federal employee back in the 90s I would get to go to many science conferences but in recent years our travel budget has been slashed. The only way to attend conferences is to get your research work published. Oh well, it was fun back in the day.

05/09/2018 - 8:03am It will even be worse

When the millennial parents tell their sons they cannot play football. Then in 30 years we will all have to become soccer fans. Or may be robots will take the place of humans on the grid iron.
