Jim Mora Jr. would like to see our Defense go against them.  He said because we "go after people" and "take chances" whereas no one has yet to do that against Bama.  A great defense can shut down a great offense - I would love the opportunity to see it.

I still remember the 1993 Sugar Bowl (because I lost money it) when 8 point favorite and high powered offense Miami Hurricanes got absolutely dominated by Bama's defense.  Bama won 34-13.

11/14/2018 - 6:04am LSU is just as overrated as…

LSU is just as overrated as Florida.  Keeping Florida at 13 (which is absurd) gives LSU a better loss.  I think we win out we are in, but this shit with the SEC is ridiculous.  What a horrible message it would send to CFB if a dominant 12-1 Michigan B1G champ is left out.

GA/Bama is a play in game in my opinion and if it isn't, it is time to rethink the conf championships.  Hard to imagine a game of this magnitude could mean nothing to Bama if they lose.

Haskins lack of running is what is dragging him down to 12 on the list, which is still pretty darn good.

Any distraction for osu is fine by me.  It's like the kid that got a whoopin' for something he didn't do. His parents didn't feel bad about it because he probably had it coming for something else.

And it really this simple.  The way you determine who is better is to play.

11/13/2018 - 5:52pm I'm in this camp.  A one…

I'm in this camp.  A one loss Michigan BIG champ is in. The Champ of the best or 2nd best conference cannot be left out at 12-1 with a 1st week loss to the #3 team.  I don't think the rest of the season will play out to garner this type of very difficult decision, but I think we are in if it does.

11/13/2018 - 2:43pm That points per drive chart…

That points per drive chart is nice.  Our combined positive 1.73 points per drive change work hand in hand between the offense and defense.  The D does a great job of getting off the field and then the O does a great job of sustaining drives.

OSU and their -1.3 combined points per drive change speaks to their problems this year.  Their Oline is a problem, lack of QB rushing production and their Defense in general.  They are who they are at this point.  I don't see them being able to "flip a switch" in 11 days.

Apples to oranges man.  The ratio of fumbles to carries vs. int's to pass attempts is vastly different.

I heard from an osu long time beat writer (can't remember his name) that if this was Urban's last year, the top two on their list would be Day and Matt Campbell.

Always a few good ones in there that make me laugh.  Even though it was a pretty vanilla game, it is worth the read.

We can only hope so.  There has to be something to slow that machine down and RR can be that something.

I do laugh (or cringe) at that sometimes.  I just respect his contribution to Michigan football and don't like to see him get publicly bashed for his shortcomings as a play by play guy.

11/12/2018 - 1:48pm As soon as I saw drill the…

As soon as I saw Bush drill the QB, I thought "watch the ref throw a flag on that only because he hit him too hard".  I see way too many flags thrown just for hitting someone too hard.

This rule cited above (Forcibly driving the passer to the ground and landing on him with action that punishes the player) was the exact thing that happened to the Boston College QB.  It wasn't a penalty nor should it have been but I only bring it up as it was a monster hit.  Christian Wilkins is a grown ass man and he drove this poor guy into the ground with a lot of force.  I'm sure the guy has several busted ribs.  It is worth a look if you haven't seen it.  Those two Clemson DT's are scary as hell.

11/12/2018 - 1:43pm In regards to guys being out…

In regards to guys being out of position on the 80 yd td run, the poor cuts by Higdon, and the 3rd and 1 wtf are you doing Ben Mason run, I have an opinion on it.  When you play a lousy team, you can be in a hurry to make a big play instead of staying disciplined in your assignment and letting the game come to you.  Higdon was probably thinking if I just get the ball I can bounce it and be gone.  Same with Mason.  The guys on defense were possibly thinking it's ok to leave contain or leave my gap to go and wreck the call carrier.  I remember having that same mentality when I played a lousy team way back in the day.  I guess my point is that it is nothing to worry about going forward.

11/12/2018 - 1:05pm If we get a fair shake with…

If we get a fair shake with the officiating this time, we are winning this game.  You can just sense it.  The vibe, the energy, whatever you want to call it, is strong right now for a Michigan win.

Did Fox have a choice to pass on the 4pm Rutgers at MSU game?  The ratings on that will have to be their worst game all season.  Especially opposite the Iron Bowl.

11/12/2018 - 1:00pm I am tired of these…

I am tired of these Brandstatter bashing threads.  It is very apparent that many don't like the way he calls a game.  I personally like him very much as his voice is synonymous with Michigan football.  He may not be the best at play by play, but it doesn't bother me as much as it does many others.

Sad part is that he has no idea he is coming off way more of a complete douche than Herman.

For the first time ever since the tweeter was invented, I actually laughed my ass off and enjoyed the responses from literally everyone.  And Herman's response is classic:

Ok cool, Hook em (with the hook em emoji) - hahaha!!!

I'm sure this will make for a fun night in the Herman household.

Minshew looks like a guy that used to manage the produce section at Farmer Jack back in the mid 1970's.

11/11/2018 - 5:06pm With Nordin, I actually…

With Nordin, I actually watch the PAT's as it tells me if his "stroke" is on point or not.  The first PAT was consistent with his duck hook at MSU, but the rest were pretty good.  He has an NFL leg but just needs to get that stroke to be consistent...as in every time he kicks the ball.  When he clears the net, he is on point.

11/11/2018 - 4:44pm Just FYI - I rolled up to…

Just FYI - I rolled up to Revel Roll (or whatever that bowling alley is called by the Salvation Army) at 7am for the Penn St game and there were only two cars in their parking lot.  $30.  We had a great time and first time ever we had a surface that was level for the cornhole boards.  It's a great alternative if the golf courses aren't open.

11/11/2018 - 4:41pm Who else would want that job…

Who else would want that job?  They will NEVER be in the mix playing in the East.  You basically start the season with four automatic conference losses every year...at a minimum.  Even Schiano is probably not dumb enough to want to come back to that.  They aren't in the Big East anymore.

11/11/2018 - 3:10pm Rutgers has not played…

Rutgers has not played Morgan St.  They did hammer Texas St 35-7 though for the bright spot on their 1-9 record.

11/11/2018 - 1:22pm You can attribute yesterday…

You can attribute yesterday's success mostly to Drew Chrisman.  Dude was unreal.  Put 6 punts inside the 10 with his last 5 going to the 6,5,3,1,2.  After the punt to the 1, on 4th and 10 MSU had 3 straight snaps that went:

 - snap thru the endzone for intentional safety

- snap that hit the motion man that resulted osu recovering in the endzone for TD.

- Option pitch botched, osu recovers fumble.  Game over at that point.

In addtion to that, Lewerke couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat.  He should in no way be playing right now.

11/11/2018 - 6:46am I agree with you JPC.  If…

I agree with you JPC.  If Peters is the backup, I would have liked to seen him out there for the whole quarter running the offense, making reads and making throws.  What if he has to come in the game in two weeks?  I think he has thrown one pass this year or something like that.  He absolutely needs the work.

Gary was back out on the field for the last Rutger's play before the half.  Not sure where Metllus is though.  I don't remember seeing him at all today.

11/10/2018 - 5:10pm It looks they are being too…

It looks they are being too aggressive in trying to make a big play when they all need to remember to do their jobs, keep your gap integrity, keep contain, etc.  This happens when you play a team that is not that good.  Just do your assignment and things will tighten up.

My only concern is Laverte Hill's health.

Two years ago the program hadn't quite fully cratered, so it was reasonable to have recruits.  Who would want to go there now and endure a physical and emotional beatdown every Saturday.

Can you believe Rutgers had commitments from both Saquon Barkley and Jonathan Taylor?

That looks really good and fun to make.  I like to add honey and some blueberries or raspberries to my cornbread.  I like it sweet to balance out the spicy chili.

I smoked some sloppy joe's once.  Once was more than enough as they were horrible.

Miles is a splash hire for a Kansas program that is just a tick above being on life support.  They drilled Rutger earlier this year which shows they have a pulse...I guess.  Miles would at least generate some buzz will be able to get some better athletes in there.
