I'm on here as much during the daytime, but not when I'm driving to/from work. At the slow times during the drive, I could bounce on the app for a few minutes - easy peasy. No thanks with looking at a full-on web site...
I don't really care about the format, I think it works just fine. Edits, pictures, links, etc will all work fine in time - as Seth has recently stated on the newly updated MGoBoard 3.0 sticky thread. Crappy rollout, but it'll get better. Hopefully, the easy stuff will be knocked out before the season starts.

I don't name my cars, but my wife has named my current. It's a red Fusion hybrid, and she hates it. Says it sits too low, and (because she's short) the seat belts don't slide low enough to avoid giving her the feeling that they'll decapitate her in a front end collision. She named it Christine.
However, I call my Waze navigator Kate (because of the voice I selected - the British female Kate), and talk to her quite a bit. My wife hates her like she's some kind of girlfriend I have on the side. Completely irrational...

Dude! Branch out!! Marinate them in any number of awesome recipes (or even store bought packages) overnight before cooking them. Teriyaki and honey is an old stand of mine. They absorb all that awesome flavor, get even more tender, and are mouth watering when they come off the grill. You'll never want the blandness of salt and pepper again...
Damn you British type people with your non-seasoned anything!!!

Ribs, and pork shoulders, should be cooked well past the normal 'well done' temps because the fat and cartilage melts down around 190. When that melts, good times are had by all!

I'm appalled that steak has three votes for being cooked medium in only 24 posts (so far). Steak should never - NEVER - be cooked further than medium rare, or you've ruined it.
|07/16/2018 - 9:05am||Its a plausible plan with a…||
Its a plausible plan with a lot of details that ave to be sorted out. But it seems doable.
This plan would remove some benefit of paying recruits up front, and thus even out some recruiting battles a little bit - so I have no doubt that a lot of southern (ahem) schools won't be in complete favor. There will be lots of hemming and hawing about it, with coaches, ADs, and NCAA officials pontificating rather than sorting out details. But I really doubt anyone will come straight out against it. That would be a public relations boo-boo...
And then one considers the NCAA's bent on total control of everything, and its glacial pace of change. Maybe in 10 years we can have a real conversation about this. I really hope it doesn't take that long, despite whatever plan might be put in place.
Pay them, somehow, already!!!
|07/15/2018 - 9:34am||Good post for OT season!
Good post for OT season!
1) Wired, self-starting generator. Virginia gets the occasional hurricane remnants, and I've gone without power (and well water) many times.
2) Fiber runs throughout the house. Cat 6 is good, but, if you can, go with fiber. Initially expensive, but the world is trending that way and you can get the best of internet/TV clarity without ever worrying about bandwidth forever more.
3) Heat/AC ducting and control that's actually designed for the living spaces (vs standard ducting). My heat pumps can't keep the upstairs cool during the summer heat because they're undersized (thanks, standard home construction). I have ceiling fans in every room, but its not enough. I need a mini-split in a couple of rooms...
Honorable mention would be a gas grill line, but I'm seriously looking at a pellet grill as my next.

So, essentially, OSU sold him a line about being the catalyst to build everything, while doing whatever he wants on the court. Where Beilein (no doubt) told him how he'd fit into the established scheme.
Good luck to you, kid. (You're gonna need it...)

This. Make sure you know exactly what she likes - what cut (princess, round, square, etc); what metal will the band be (platinum, white gold, something else - it determines the clarity you should get); how big. I'm going to second the suggestion for an elliptical - same great running workout, but without the stress that actuall running puts on your joints. You can get a second hand Life Fitness X9 model pretty cheaply. Those are what were in all the clubs 15-20 years ago, and they are solid. A bit dated with the red LED readout and beeps, but still has the heart rate monitoring. And they provide an excellent workout.

What to do depends an awful lot on what you're friend likes to do! I mean, does he like to fish? A charter for muskies would be unique to an Amsterdamite. Show him some Motown sights between the rock concerts if he likes music. Some craft breweries? Amsterdam has an awesome red light district, but maybe don't show him Detroit's red light districts. (Yeah, don't. That's an awful idea...)
How about some clues about what he likes? Because that is where you narrow what Detroit (Michigan) really has to offer him... A game at Comerica (HAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!!)?

This seems to have been a problem for people under 1000 points total, although that's not a scientific survey with accurate results. I've asked if someone jacked up the code and typo'd 1000, instead of 100, but the only psuedo-answer I saw was that the point module was old and needed to be refactored. So whatever... I got nothing for you! But I'll upvote one in your name!!
|07/13/2018 - 8:19am||The 2011 offense was still…||
The 2011 offense was still RR's offense - it was a full on spread to run handled by DRob. Hoke started slowly morphing it into a more traditional pro-style in 2012, which is when everything started to go off the rails for him. I wouldn't make the same OC comparisons for another team as far as any regression is concerned. It more depends on the scheme a new OC wants to run, and the players he has for that scheme.
If Rahne keeps Moorehead's scheme and play calling, he'll do okay. If he tries to change it to something else altogether, he better hope he has the players for it...

I wouldn't say "so whatever"... I mean, he did write and post the rule that said nobody - including himself - would make any political posts. Personally, I don't care that he did. I have no care to read about local AA mayoral runs, so I didn't click on it (same as not clicking on other topics that don't interest me). But, posting a rule for everyone, and then saying 'i can do it, but you can't', is wrong. Change the rule so it says 'Brian can post whatever he wants, and you can't', and I'd be fine with it.

I wanted to say much the same thing, but you said it so much better than I probably would have! If you want to praise the parts of Hitler's leadership that would actually make sense, I can name 15 other leaders for which the same praise can be made - without the political baggage.
I just can't imagine someone using Hitler as an example of doing something - anything - right. Especially in the context of a football locker room, where all you're doing is trying to jack up your players. You're not looking for an educational back and forth...

When I first read this, I thought it was a farcical thing. However... This story is well written, and interesting. It'll be neat to see the results from the TBT based on this rule change. (Unless I've already missed them? Not a huge bball fan outside of college ball...)

I think you misunderstood the comment. He was saying that any snub list that doesn't list Dayne as being a bigger snub than Vick, can get bent. You, Brian, and myself all agree this is true - Dayne was snubbed, and it was a bigger insult than Vick not getting a Heisman.
|07/10/2018 - 8:42am||Yep... And it perfectly…||
Yep... And it perfectly explains why Harbaugh recruited 47 corner/safety hybrids that are all 6'2", 180, run a 4.5 40 yd dash, and are known as physical players. They can all play corner, safety, VIPER(!), slot corner, run support, fade diminisher, edge rusher, wheel route ender, corner, and safety. They can also play both corner and safety.
We should not be whining about corners and safeties being different people, anymore...
Now, if we see Bryan Mone trying to cover some wing back on a wheel route due to some Middle Eastern blitz scheme, we'll know Don Brown is drunk.

|07/09/2018 - 6:15pm||Not a valid comparison. …||
Not a valid comparison. Going from one flavor of candied water to another has nothing in common with moving technology forward or backward. Nothing whatsoever. And don't even argue that point - because there is no argument.
The site needs work, true. I strongly believe that HUEL did them wrong - this is more backward than it should have been. HUEL should be ashamed of themselves for this release because it was not ready. If I were looking for someone to build a web page for me, HUEL was just crossed off my list, and there's no need for a price negotiation, either. Just gone. (Of course, Brian's price may not have included everything it should have had. In which case, HUEL still gets the public hit because they did the work. It's just business...)
All that said, there is a sticky thread documenting the on-going work. I haven't checked it in quite a while, so I don't know if its still being updated. Nonetheless, the site is what we have, and it will slowly improve. Either stick it out, or go away.

Gonna have to go with this. Eating smartly and getting a modicum of exercise (i.e.: walking up that ONE flight of steps*) is all you need to maintain a good weight. You'll lose some weight like that, but not quickly enough for most that diet - which is why they diet.

I don't know where he was, but if you're near a Pennsylvania border you can buy them in PA. So long as you have an out of state license and promise to take them out of the state in 24 hrs, you can buy whatever you want. I've procured the same mortar rounds that pros set up. They are awesome! Not completely legal in VA, but like someone said, cops only make so many house calls.

Well, if he plays well this year and looks like a decent NFL pick (if even the following year), I hope there's an out clause he can invoke. It may be just a placeholder for the Rangers against other MLB teams, rather than locking him into the Drew Henson paradigm. But as a 39th round pick, he'll never see a MLB stadium - unless he buys a ticket.

However, feel free to manually copy all of that stuff so you can enlighten us with your knowledge! I'd love to see your results...

No, actually, he's not - very salient points. This appointment is crucial, and we all wish it could be made in a politically neutral environment. Unfortunately, there is nothing neutral about today's political environment. Personally, I don't want Trump getting another vote on SCOTUS - and I say that as a person that voted for neither Trump nor Hillary (they both suck ass as a choice).
I don't want the environmental and ecological destruction that a far right court will bring. It's bad enough that the administration doesn't believe in science, we don't need it to get worse... I mean, Scott Pruitt. Really??

His only point was that Hand was drafted higher than Hurst, but only because of the heart issue that spooked the entire NFL. Had that not occurred, Hurst was a top 20 draft pick, if not top 10. So, basically, you read each question to see if it interested you, and then decided - because they don't interest you - that the whole thing is trash. You would not have yelled "STOP!!!" if a question asked about unfunded pensions.
If it doesn't interest you, move along. Because when you digest the content before complaining about it, your complaint is void.
|06/29/2018 - 8:02am||Brian, you can sometimes be…||
Brian, you can sometimes be an insufferably pompous douchebag. But on this point, I agree completely with you and laughed my ass off when I read this! You've done a fairly good job of keeping politics out of here, and we all appreciate it.
And yet, when a candidate for state governor asks for air time, such consideration should be allowed. It doesn't sound like any punches were pulled (just reading the questions), so I want to listen to it just to hear - and I don't even live in Michigan for a vote on the issues!
One caution (not that you care) - if the other candidates ask for the same consideration, I hope you indulge them in the very same manner you indulged el-Sayed. It would be easy to say you only support one political bent, or that you supported an alum. But make the stand - allow all voices. Your readers make up all voices, give them the same consideration. (Same questions, too...)

The way you speak sounds a lot like the way some UM football coaches coached. Stop attacking when you get a lead, and hope the defense holds. Don't over-extend your offense, trust the defense. And so on and so forth. I have a hard time believing the 'R' in RNG - seems a little weighted, it does...

|06/26/2018 - 6:31pm||I try to keep a level head…||
I try to keep a level head about things. Big problems don't bother me one bit. The bigger the problem, the easier the resolution - big picture stuff. But little, mundane, pointless things that people desire tend to drive me up a wall (TPS Reports, standing in a line of morons, er - people, to checkout at the grocery store, etc). The Navy taught me that I can only fix the things in my control - and I can largely decide what that control sphere is. If it means something to me, I address it. If it really doesn't affect the big picture I'm centered in, I let it be to the point possible.

Yeah... I tend to pace up and down, move to different seats, and flip off the opposing teams through the TV. Watching Michigan football is anything but stress free! Especially when its a big game, or one that is too close... Same with ball, to a somewhat lesser extent - except when the tourney is in play.

I guess this makes sense, and I kinda thought participation in whatever Reddit thread is associated would make it more interesting. But, like your last sentence intones, I spend enough time here and have no desire to broaden my social media horizons. A Reddit thread has no appeal to me, especially when considering that it wouldn't be just totally centered on what I like. This is about me, dammit!!
