Solomon trending to Bama?

Submitted by 1464 on
Feel free to shoot the messenger. Sam Webb posted an article ($) in regards to Solomon reporting that his mind is made up. I do not pay, so I don't know the content, but the Twitter reactions seem to indicate that it sounds like he's going to be headed to Bama. Boo. EDIT: Posting using phone autocorrect is a dangerous proposition. Fixed the spelling errors. Although to be fair, Soloman does sound like an antisocial super hero, which would be interesting.

He has been saying bama is his leader.  Seems like its Najee all over again, people start reading into things when the only thing the kid says indicates one school.

It would suck but this would still be a good class. Harbaugh would prioritize DTs next year and probably hit big with the chance for early playing time. Looks like Gary will be playing inside a lot In 2017.

This is shaping up just like Harris. Lots of rumblings for Michigan, people throwing ballz at Michigan, people saying "Michigans in the drivers seat". Guy signs with Bama anyway

I know, I'm a glutton for punishment, but here's to hoping that Alabama is finally on the wrong end of a good troll job.

Allen Trieu still seems to think he'll be in AA despite the comments. I hope he's right but his word isn't enough to keep me optimistic. It's just enough to keep me from being overly pessimistic.

The friggin kid has said Alabama leads.  Who are you going to believe, the kid who says himself that Alabama leads. or some analyst that says the kid has no idea who leads, i know who leads, and its not Alabama!  I mean for Gods sakes.

Then when he picks Alabama, you recruitnics are going to throw a fit because you thought we led because of some analyst said we lead.

Again, THE KID SAYS ALABAMA LEADS.  THE KID SAID FUCK MICHIGAN. WE SCREWED HIS NAME UP.  WE THANKED HIM FOR COMING HERE FOR A VISIT HE NEVER WAS ON.

Yeah, sounds like a Michigan lock.

I said it before and ill say it again.  If he does come to Michigan, this is the most fucked up recruitiment i have seen, and it should be the poster-child example of CROOTIN.

i hope he listens to his mother. education first football second. dose he not realize he got instant playing time right away. if he picks Alabama he will have to wait. they got too much of a power house for him to start now. playing time is very important for this class. so why pick a school where he either gets red shirted . he could play but not start would make his freshman year a waste.

Not questioning the likelihood he ends up at Bama, but why are so many non-Michigan crystal balls coming in for UM? Someone close to his inner circle is likely putting out some very strong pro-UM vibes. The kid said Alabama was his leader as of a week ago, and yet a relatively high number of crystal balls came in for UM. If someone is still picking another school opposite of the one the kid publicly states, something is going on outside of what we are privy to.

The obvious answer is that trusted professionals like Steve Wiltfong make a living off of deciphering the comments and actions of not only the player, but the coaching staff and family as well.  They interpret that information and based on their vast experience predicting the future commitment of hundreds of prospects over a number of years, they aggregate the information and make their best guess prediction.  For the best of them, they understand the process and aren't misled by one piece, but estimate based on the total sum.  Their accuracy percentage on 247 proves their method as it relates to their peers.

You know that, of course, or you wouldn't have asked such a level-headed question.  Just wanted to confirm that you're not crazy as we sift through dozens of chicken littles calling everyone stupid as a defense mechanism for their fragile psyche.  They emotionally can't handle a recruiting loss, so they assume the worst.  It's easier to say "I admit I didn't think this would happen, but great decision! Go Blue!" than it is to hold out hope for a positive result and be disappointed.  No one will call them out for being a sad-sack the day we land a 5-star.

These guys will stand there over a coin flip and tell you it's definitely going to be tails.  There's no way we ever get heads.  Tails has bagmen.  We can't recruit tails.  I dont' understand what you see that would ever make you think it will be heads.

If heads:  Wow! This is a pleasant suprise! Just like the rest of you, I'm happy!

If tails:  I told you. You people are stupid.

There's no real loss for this type of person who emotionally hedges.

I'd really love Collins, Solomon, and Gay to commit to Michigan. At best I think we get one of the three, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if we don't get any. And that's primarily because historically it's been very difficult to pull elite-level talent out of AL, MS, and GA up to Michigan.

I can't speak for other people here, but I'll lose the same amount of sleep if they don't commit to Michigan that I did when Da'Shawn Hand chose Alabama: zero. I've been following Michigan football and its recruiting for far too long to get wigged out over the choices of a small handful of 18-year olds in any given year. As for 2017, we've got a damn good class already, and getting any of the three would be icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned.

Looking like Martin, Iffy (SU commit), and maybe an off the rader 2-3* kid on NSD. Great class still, but still kind of a bummer on what could have been with the misses.

Wilson, Solomon, and Gay are huge misses.

Hmm ...from the article and Twitter activity, I'd say it's impossible to tell which way he's leaning.  Michigan has the momentum, USC the most recent visit (until this weekend) and before the UM momentum, it was Bama ...but kid is from Georgia.

The collective opinion and what Sam said was really, "nobody knows what he's going to say but he's apparently decided what he's saying."

It seems pretty obvious at this point that Aubrey wants to go to Alabama. His mom wants him at Michigan. On NSD we'll find out how much impact her input has on Aubrey's ultimate decision.

Barton Simmons just updated Solomon's recruitment on Sirius XM in response to a question about which recruitment will be filled with the most drama leading up to NSD: "I think it could go a lot of different ways." Says Georgia is fourth in a group that begins with Alabama and Michigan and includes USC.

He did not explicitly state that either Michigan or Alabama is in the lead, and he does not have any Crystal Balls in for Solomon for anybody as far as I can tell, despite being a 247 National Recruiting Analyst. (I had to double-check; I must confess I often confuse Ryan Bartow with Barton Simmons-- hopefully they don't do the same).

family and a trustworthy HS staff - we at least have a shot and JH undoubtedly did everything possible within UM limits. Even the "f Michigan" was over hyped and his side handled the aftermath well. Seems like a guy who would flourish in every way in A2. Let's just wait and see.

We really need to temper our expectations. Michigan has not been a great football team in 20 years. Harbaugh still hasn't won shit. We haven't recruited and developed a 5 star talent in that time. Jabrill came in as Jabrill and left as same Jabrill. Still can't cover. Can't get an interception. His athleticism is felt, and I'd love to have had him back but you can't look at one aspect of his game and say it improved. Gary on year one statistically made little impact. The bowl game he was silent. Michigan linebackers have been average to awful since 2003? 2006? What I'm getting at is Harbaugh is going to have to win to start pulling kids from the south. He hasn't won shit yet. 2017 is going to be a rough year. Maybe Saban will retire soon and Michigan can land these kids. Maybe the university can handle proper roll call until then. This program has not earned the type of recruiting class that Gay and Soloman would make it. Temper your expectations...

You're an ass. Just spewing your lame troll trash. Harbaugh has won a great deal, but the worried ones from other schools show their insecurity by pretending that he hasn't. Go home
