Solomon trending to Bama?

Submitted by 1464 on
Feel free to shoot the messenger. Sam Webb posted an article ($) in regards to Solomon reporting that his mind is made up. I do not pay, so I don't know the content, but the Twitter reactions seem to indicate that it sounds like he's going to be headed to Bama. Boo. EDIT: Posting using phone autocorrect is a dangerous proposition. Fixed the spelling errors. Although to be fair, Soloman does sound like an antisocial super hero, which would be interesting.

If Solomon got his answer on Wednesday, the only coaching staff who had visited him this week prior to that was from USC.  Alabama, Georgia and Michigan all came in on Thursday.

"It is not just Alabama and Michigan; all four of the schools are still up there for me," said Solomon.  "It has been pretty crazy going through all this, but all four of the schools are great.  They all have things I really like."

"For the school I am going to, it came down to what they have been doing in football and their graduation rate," said Solomon.  "What they have been doing in those two areas haS been pretty unbelievable."

Not that you could convince an 18 year old, but I estimate the 1% difference is not statistically significant.

First post ever. Coversation on this blog is a breath of fresh air compared to Mlive. I have been missing out for so long.

Assuming the graduation rates are equal, it would seem the value of a degree would be more important?

Not sure how reputable this site is, but I would bet these numbers are within reason.

Over the years, I've seen more than a few recruits get their answer or a vision after praying on it. Have any of you had these types of visions or answers the night before a big decision? Anyone with a background in sleep studies, dreaming, neuroscience, or psych have any thought? Anyone think that it's a way for a young kid to insulate themselves from backlash?

At least spell his name right. I'd love to have him. But there is a reason we rarely get recruits from Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, as well as Louisiana and South Carolina and the panhandle of Florida.

Other than one cheeto-fingered tweeter writing "Bama" in the comments, there is absolutely nothing that points to one school. The article is vague, and there are no big twitter reactions. This thread is bad.

Sure you could. He said (paraphrasing), "The school I picked has been doing unbelievable things on the football field and has a high graduation rate." You think Michigan has been doing "unbelievable" things on the football field lately, especially compared to Alabama? And using graduation rate as a decision maker, as opposed to educational opportunities or the quality and value of your degree/program, makes it sound like 'bama is the choice.

The grad rate thing is what stood out to me as well.  Alabama couldn't sell quality of education so they sold that, and Solomon is satisficing that in his mind as meeting his (and moms's) education requirement.  He wants to go to Alabama.

The only proviso being that he seems to tell people what he thinks they want to hear.  So who knows.  Probably we know, not happening.  But who knows.

Why do people think a flood of Crystal Balls means anything? Most of those picks are coming from people with no inside info that just read what the 3-6 reports on the subject say. I get trusting thr guys who actually *talk* to the recruit, but who cares if some Cal guy is picking this?

Even with the caveat that crystal balls aren't a given, the last 17 predictions are in favor of Michigan, including Steve Wiltfong, and the correct predictor of Isaiah Wilson's recruitment, Ryan Bartow.  Until something changes, I'm still cautiously optimistic.
