The founding fathers put rules in place to keep this website secure.  However, for the rules to work, the mods that represent us must use these rules.  If the current moderating body is too scared of their user base to hold the current administration accountable for its many egregious violations of blog law, then the whole thing just falls apart.

Not to mention, voting on these posts has been tampered with.  It is clear that our voting system has been compromised.  It doesn't really look like the current administration of this site is doing anything to protect our liberties.

Also, will you guys stand up for the Muppet Hawaiian War Anthem?!? This is MGoBlog!  Love it or leave it!

07/03/2018 - 3:43pm Can you show me your posts…

Can you show me your posts about MSU, Baylor, and PSU being inappropriate?  How is this any different?

Actually... MSU, John Engler.  Baylor, Ken Starr.  OSU, Jim Jordan.  What an odd coincidence...

Remembers a conversation where a neighbor tried to argue that Pluto was a star.

Yup.  Your story checks out.

When your brand is being 'deplorable', then every deplorable thing seems to tie itself to your brand.

Dude is from my home district, so I think I am allowed one opinion.  He is a giant piece of shit.  Although a cover-up to save OSU from embarrassment may actually get him MORE votes in this godforsaken state.

There are exceptions for Glasgow's right?

06/13/2018 - 3:39pm Ah... so we are comparing an…

Ah... so we are comparing an idiom with using fake words now?  Supposably and irregardless are not even words.  Last I checked, pipe is a word.

Also, 'coming down the pipe' makes sense as a standalone phrase.  If 'coming down the pike' did not exist, it is not hard to imagine someone using the phrase 'coming down the pipe.'

Same with 'bald faced lie' and 'bold faced lie.'  If anything, 'bold face lie' makes a lot more sense, as a bold typeface is something that stands out.  Yet the original term is 'bald faced lie' because somebody had a problem with men that couldn't grow beards?  Stupid.  Just because something is older, doesn't mean it isn't also stupider.

You've picked a strange hill to cry on, sir.

06/08/2018 - 8:28am Holy shit!  That SUCKS!

Holy shit!  That SUCKS!

06/07/2018 - 5:40pm I agree with your analogy,…

I agree with your analogy, but I bristle at the thought of NASA needing to justify their budget.  They are really one of the keys to our future.  If we do not have a Plan B, we do not have a future.

06/07/2018 - 5:38pm We have already begun the…

We have already begun the great filter.  It started shortly after WW2, and we have been flirting with it ever since.  Things that we are doing are causing changes that are imperceptively slow to the naked eye, which causes a lack of immediate concern which can push us further into the boiling pot.

I think that we have the technology to survive almost anything as a species right now, short of a few cataclysmic events.  If our atmosphere disappeared tomorrow, we would be gone.  However, if we knew that Earth would be uninhabitable in a decade, we could easily adapt - at least some of us would have the resources to do so.

However, we may find ourselves hanging in the balance - I can picture a future where a life on Earth is similar to a life on Mars.  I think we have the resources to live a 'Mars' life on Earth right now, but it would put a huge strain on our species.

06/07/2018 - 2:18pm Careful, sir.  They are…

Careful, sir.  They are apparently our closest allies.

05/29/2018 - 9:03pm Well, I'm not a Spartan

Well, I'm not a Spartan account and I don't think 10 wins, including the bowl, constitutes great season. It does reset opinions about Michigan football. I think Harbaugh is still a top coach, but needs a breakout year. Sometimes great coaching is not enough and the ball has to bounce the right way. Our public perception is not high. It's time for Harbaugh to captain a really good year.

05/24/2018 - 11:32pm What kind of garbage point

What kind of garbage point are you trying to make?  If a kid makes a tough decision due to coaching uncertainty, that means that any interest they had in Michigan must have completely washed away?  And Michigan, being... what?  Petty as shit?  Michigan decides that since the kid decommitted, they would never entertain the option of allowing him to come ever?  That'll sure show that punk kid not to mess with us, huh?

How the fuck do you know whether either party is interested?  Any basis for that assertion?  Don't have shitty opinions on the internet, Jimmy.

Hey! You guys are like me!

Here's another good trick, my wife can't STAND it...

Always and forever pronounce parmesan as par-MEE-zhun.  Bonus points if you do it at a restaurant in front of the server.

I'd like to see a ring around the top of the stadium that says cool stuff like "Michigan" and Victors."

04/10/2018 - 1:34pm Yes, because other rules

Yes, because other rules aren't ruled on subjectively... also, these kids are free labor.  If they want to go to another school because of playing time, WHAT IS THE FUCKING HARM?!?!?!

Schools should be able to block any school that is on the schedule for the duration of that players eligibility, due to playbook stuff.  Outside of that, schools can suck a fat bag of dicks.  A fat DIRTY bag of dicks.

EDIT:  Did the comment I replied to get nuked?

What sports can racists discuss?  Curling?  Cross country skiing?  Uhhmm.. darts?

04/03/2018 - 9:58am If he gets first round

If he gets first round grades?  Sure.  Last I heard he was a second rounder, though.  I think he needs to improve his defense a bit and stay out of foul trouble.  His last two games were really solid in those areas, but everything before that wasn't so great.

I know the NBA likes tall guys who can shoot and pass.  Maybe the exposure in this tournament bought him a first round pick.  That's my barometer.  If you are safe to go in the first, then go.  If not... don't risk it.  Get your degree and enjoy one more year of college.  That's easy to say sitting at a computer working a corporate job, though.  Can't say what I would think if I were in his shoes.

03/29/2018 - 4:16pm If I were a betting man,

If I were a betting man, yes.  I think Michigan SHOULD coast.

03/27/2018 - 11:08pm Yeah, but that was

Yeah, but that was politicized because it was largely black people protesting unfai... oh.

Pick literally any Always Sunny character.

03/11/2018 - 11:25pm Probably.  But... is that

Probably.  But... is that even the point?  If the Browns went 0-10 to start the year, then had a 6 game winning streak, should they be in the NFL playoffs?

Every playoff out there is based on the whole of the schedule.  I fail to see the argument behind providing a higher seed because you have won of late.

03/11/2018 - 11:21pm Ding Ding Ding!  You got it

Ding Ding Ding!  You got it right.

Thinking that being hot at the end of the season should change your seed line is stupid.  Being hot at the end of the season is its own reward.  There should be no weight given to your recent record approaching the tourney.  If you're playing good basketball, great.  Take your middling seed and pull a couple upsets.  If you slide in with a couple early wins, good for you.  Better step your game up.

What am I missing that we think that a March win is more impressive than a December win?  Is it just because we have won two conference tourneys lately?

03/11/2018 - 9:21pm Wait. People don't stay up

Wait. People don't stay up until 1am and go to work the next day? I'm never in bed before 1230.

03/11/2018 - 12:51am Can we be more detailed

Can we be more detailed here.  Is everyone still concerned about cunt or cocksucker?  The only words that piss me off are racial or sexual orientation slurs.

It doesn't just have to be the n-word of the f-word.  Anything that is deeply demeaning to a group of people who don't inherently deserve it just shows a total lack of class and maturity.

03/11/2018 - 12:47am It really appears that a

It really appears that a large portion of the MGoBlog community really has no grasp on the emotional and vocabulary development of kids.

In most places, kindergarten students don't typically go to their first day of school and simply start using the word 'fuck' as a substitute for all other words, just... like... with different inflections to indicate their intent.  A 5-year-old is not going to step into the front door of their school and be barraged by a bunch of baby George Carlin's yelling about motherfucking cocksuckers.

I'm not a prude, but I don't want my younger two kids hearing that shit.  My oldest is 8 and that is about at the age where language is not a concern.  He knows context and when he can use language like that, so he's mature enough to handle it.

My 4 year old would straight up call a teacher a dumb bitch if she knew what a dumb bitch was and got upset about coming in from recess before she was ready.

03/11/2018 - 12:38am I KNOW!

I tried to pay $130,000 to have a gag order placed on the people trying to start talking their shit on here...

... boy did that backfire.

03/11/2018 - 12:36am Really easy to weed out the

Really easy to weed out the ones with kids and the ones that haven't... consummated their feelings for the opposite gender.

"Why the FUCK does anyone care about this shit anymore?" says the guy who has never had to be even temporarily responsible for a young child.

Big 10 basketball isn't SEC football.

02/22/2018 - 2:02pm LOL... I guess you don't get

LOL... I guess you don't get the double entendre there.

02/16/2018 - 2:12pm Yeah... I don't think utterly

Yeah... I don't think utterly ignorant or intentionally deceitful is a trait that Engler possesses alone.  It seems that a particular American institution, to which he once belonged, has become rife with ignorant and deceitful people.  He's learning how to act from those closest to him ideologically.  This is not an isolated event.  It's a disturbingly pervasive trend.

02/12/2018 - 2:27pm I hate to harp too much on

I hate to harp too much on tone, but you're suggesting the notion that it is predestined that they are building something special.  I hate that kind of posturing, because it enforces this false narrative that something special WILL happen.  There is a chance that, even given best intentions and efforts, they will fail.  That should scare people.  Suggesting that it will be a great football season just disavows that fear of failure.  People think that if they try hard, it will just work out in the end.  That's not how it works, and it leads to a lack of self evaluation.

Am I reading too much into a message board post?  Yes.  I hear this same sort of inflated confidence in real-life, though, and it grates me.  I wouldn't want to work on the same team as someone who suggests that things will just work out if we try hard and think nice thoughts... shit fails, and it is way more likely in the absence of the belief that shit can fail...

02/07/2018 - 12:26am Agreed.  As a DC this would

Agreed.  As a DC this would be a bad hire, but as a 10th coach?  Who should we fucking hire?  Saban?  Meyer?

All things equal, I would prefer a young up and coming person, I guess, but I think we're being a little too picky if we think a failed Power 5 head coach can't add value as the 10th assistant...

02/05/2018 - 12:00pm You named two teams that

You named two teams that definitely can stop them.  Although the Steelers are going into a decline as well, as Ben is not aging as well as Brady.

What's a offensive holding?

02/04/2018 - 11:07pm More like, what the hell were

More like, what the hell were they doing calling those Eagles TD's as catches? I mean, they were totally both catches, just not in the NFL.

02/04/2018 - 11:02pm It's frustrating as hell,

It's frustrating as hell, too. Brady has played well enough to be 8-0 in Super Bowls. I can't imagine the window is still open, either. That D is awful.
His line is subpar. His receivers and Gronk are all made of glass, and he doesn't have a superstar RB to help him out. He's got an entire team of misfit toys and he's getting too old to get them all rings. It's setting up for an anticlimactic retirement. I was hoping he'd go out like Elway.

02/01/2018 - 8:56am Yup.  God forbid a coach

Yup.  God forbid a coach tries to shield his players from punishment for a violation that a) wasn't a crime and b) didn't hurt anyone.  It's not like coaches become attached to their players or anything.  Sure, he got what he deserved because his actions were in violation of competitive rules... but if you had a kid playing football who made a few bad choices in accepting free stuff, would you want the coach to throw him under the bus?  Hell, I'd probably try to protect my players, too.  I'm not sure how many coaches wouldn't.

02/01/2018 - 8:50am What does a 5 star line

What does a 5 star line matter, in your stupid opinion?  Are you refuting the significance of 5 star athletes by claiming that they're not that great because other 5 star athletes make them look better?

01/30/2018 - 8:29am They're playing by a very

They're playing by a very recognizable playbook.  Do a bunch of transparently evil shit and hope that your support base has bought in deeply enough that they find ways to justify or deny what you are doing.

I can't QUITE pinpoint where we've seen that recently... hmm...

01/29/2018 - 1:32pm Hitler was above average

Hitler was above average offensively, but ultimately, his problem was poor defense.

01/29/2018 - 11:53am Internet law, here.
This was

Internet law, here.

This was the logical conclusion of this discussion anyway, but if I named my kid Hitler, that would be a significant data point in regards of my character or lack thereof.

Naming your kid after someone with multiple charges including assault says nothing of the kid, but a lot about how much those things concern you as a person.

01/25/2018 - 1:02pm I'm amazing at managing

I'm amazing at managing business analysts.  My management strategy is to take my initial instincts on a problem, and have everyone do the exact opposite of that.  It's flawless.

01/25/2018 - 12:31pm That college trade post...

I work as a business analyst manager.  It is my job to listen to tons of ideas every day.  That may have been the worst suggestion I have ever heard, in any aspect of my life.

01/03/2018 - 12:04pm I'm afraid that California

I'm afraid that California will have drifted away from the mainland US long before that endzone is Maize and Blue...

01/01/2018 - 3:48pm I... I want to disagree with

I... I want to disagree with you, but anyone not calling Michigan to blow this was delusional.  We choke.  That is our identity now.  As SOON as the B1G went 7-0, I knew we were doomed.  Michigan is just a bad joke now.  It sucks,
