Our rivals? At least 40% of the members of this board have at some point been screaming for him to be fired.  Harbaugh is a great coach.  But try telling that to anyone who feels personally offended that we had a bad game this year.

12/22/2018 - 1:26am No, bro. We're not MSU.

No, bro. We're not MSU.

12/21/2018 - 5:04pm Yeah, my post on Crouch got…

Yeah, my post on Crouch got double posted.  I hit save, waited, waited, waited.  No loading indication on the browser.  I hit it again and it went right away, but there were two threads.  My guess is that since you average around 60 messages per thread, you're 60 times more likely to see a double post.  Plus mods remove them quicker because they're more visible.

My favorite overlooked player is Sainristil.  I think he is going to be an All American for us.  Just look at his film.

I have this weird feeling that Harrison will either commit to PSU today, or postpone his commitment.  Don't know why.

12/19/2018 - 10:52am I love that we have another…

I love that we have another really smart WR.  I don't know if it was confirmation bias watching DPJ, knowing that his parents are both really intelligent, but it seemed like he made really good decisions this year.  I feel like the WR position is prone to lapses in judgement on blocking or route running, sitting down in zone, etc.  Having another kid come in at the position with some IQ will be very nice.  Not bagging on the other WR's at all, but these two strike me as being able to 'get it.'

I hate to say it, but I don't see it.  When things are trending away like this, it's really not a good sign.  I feel like he's more of a reach than getting Dax back, at this point.

Unless it already ends in 's' in which case, you add s' on the end - like so:

I ate two Skittless'.

So blatant!  Surprised the announcers didn't see it.  Just reached out and pulled an eligible receiver down by the shoulder pads.  Probably a 4 point referee mistake.

A basketball school with a 10 win football team, btw.  We're not fucking Illinois on the football field, guys.

I think we simply reorganize the games into the circles of Dante's Inferno.  This was definitely the 8th circle, fraud.  Or defense was exposed as a fraudulent #1.  The good news, is that means we only have one more level of pain.  Bad news is that we may experience such pain in the last circle that we all throw our toasters into the bathwater...

I think we feel that it is a better team this year.  I don't know that most were overly confident about the OSU game that year, but this year barring any (admittedly not too improbable) flukes, we should get the win in Columbus.

I think he saw what he thought was space on the outside and wanted to make a play.  It didn't work out for him.

Hell, if we're lucky, maybe even Quavaris Crouch.

Look, I appreciate the analysis.  But if I can see the hole while sitting on my couch watching slowed down instant replay on the Skycam, surely a kid with a helmet partially obstructing his peripheral vision should be able to pick it out with a team of large men trying to harm him.

Also, I may get winded climbing a flight of stairs, but so HELP ME GOD if one of our backs runs out of steam in the secondary and gets caught from behind.  That really pisses me off.

So you can't think of ANY other instance where a seemingly healthy and prosperous slowly caved in to fascism and nationalism?  Only with hyper inflation can a population be turned against a perceived minority threat?

11/08/2018 - 9:59am You guys are both dead wrong…

You guys are both dead wrong.  I understand this is a subjective opinion, but your idea would ruin CFB.  If a 3 or 4 loss team could make the playoffs, the regular season would flat out suck.  There is a special angst that comes with being a CFB fan.  And that is any given Saturday, if the team falters, it may be over.  That means that every game is huge.  I would HATE to have a system where a large number of the teams make the playoffs.

Congrats.  I think that is, by far, the dumbest post I have ever seen on this site.  That's really an accomplishment.

So is the career record just two pick sixes? That's surprisingly low...

11/05/2018 - 12:19pm From what I understand,…

From what I understand, McCaffery's injury takes 4-8 weeks to heal.  So he MAY be available for the playoffs.  Probably shouldn't count on it, though.  The BCS title game is 9 weeks from today.

I would hope we are able to build up a good enough lead to make sure Patterson doesn't see a minute of second half action over the next two weeks.  If not, I will be stressed every time he takes a hit.  It's probably best to run the ball like crazy, and probably avoid overusing Higdon as well.

11/05/2018 - 12:10pm I think the contention is…

I think the contention is that the default is regular season only, and that the post season record is the secondary accomplishment.  I didn't see Tom Brady hugging his kids last night, nor did the refs give him a fucking plaque.  Sorry, still think that was a stupid thing to do in the middle of a game...

The opposite should be true.  The main records should include postseason, and the secondary records should be a consolation prize for those that weren't able to play in meaningful postseason games.

11/05/2018 - 12:04pm That gives me an interesting…

That gives me an interesting thought.  How badly would Rutgers beat a team comprised of the best football players from this board?  The only condition is that we would have to disqualify any current Michigan players that are lurking on this board.  So we have a bunch of guys that probably played High School ball, and a few former Michigan players that are past their prime.

Given a month for that team to train, does Rutgers still beat that team by 100?

Any news come out of the visit?

11/05/2018 - 11:03am I think it is bullshit that…

I think it is bullshit that the 'all-time leader' categories in major sports ignore the playoffs.  The only defense of this I hear is, "A player is not responsible for how good his team is."

Let's take it a step further.  Since it is unfair to count playoff games because Drew Brees didn't get to play in as many as Tom Brady, I think it is unfair to count dropped passes against the quarterback.  Since a player is not responsible for how good his team is, he shouldn't be responsible for dropped passes.  Let's go back and add in dropped pass yardage.  On the flip side, how can a quarterback be responsible for YAC yardage?  Let's remove that.  And since the offensive line is responsible for keeping the QB upright, let's weigh in sacks somehow.

Why are playoff games the logical breaking point?  Barry Sanders would have had thousands more yards than Emmitt Smith if he played behind the same line.  If a game counts, it counts.  It's stupid to suggest Brady doesn't have the most yardage unless you suggest that the postseason is just an exhibition.

11/05/2018 - 10:55am Your request was…

Your request was acknowledged.  Unfortunately, it has not dissuaded me from my stance.  While I know that would make you feel better, I hope you can find a way to continue moving forward with your day with the knowledge that I passively dislike this news.

11/05/2018 - 10:51am Correct.  I'm arguing from a…

Correct.  I'm arguing from a place of ignorance, but it is a hypothetical argument either way.  This situation happens with other teams as well.  I guess my annoyance is that the tenor of this board is very different when OSU has a situation like this come up.

It wouldn't be even remotely surprising if there were extenuating circumstances.  The only logical conclusion that can come of this is that recruiting is a very behind the scenes and personal process, and that a bunch of grown men on a message board should not speculate over it to any degree of seriousness.

11/05/2018 - 10:47am I'm sure I will.  This site…

I'm sure I will.  This site doesn't do well with opinions that are against the grain, even if they're honest and defensible.  But to your point- I agree.  The staff seems to cast too large a net at first.  I get it, I guess.  Get in early for these guys because you have to build a relationship and nobody hits on all their top targets.  I don't know if there is a better way to do it.  What I do know is that they're putting the quality of the team above the best interests of the players.  Maybe that is just the necessary evil of fielding a championship level team, but we don't have to like it.

I think most would prefer not to know how the sausage is made...

11/05/2018 - 10:25am Right.  Harbaugh doesn't…

Right.  Harbaugh doesn't even know I exist.  But I didn't suggest that 'I' shouldn't tolerate it.  I suggested that 'we' shouldn't tolerate it, which, by definition, includes more than just me.  This is a borderline sleazy recruiting tactic, if taken at face value.  There may be more to this story, and the coaching staff is not allowed to tell their side.  The fanbase should not be cool with this tactic for our coaching staff while condemning the practice in other places.

I never swore away my fandom, or signed some sort of petition to remove the coaching staff.  I'm not going to write a letter to the AD.  I just suggested that this was not a good look.  But hey, we're potentially playoff bound, so it's easier to intentionally misrepresent my point and immediately circle the wagons than to have a little introspection.  Good input, random internet guy.

11/05/2018 - 9:59am You win.

Reading the tea leaves, it sounds like the coaches are getting good vibes from Harrison and or Karlaftis.  If this is the case, there is no way we could possibly reject either of them.  However, I don't like this.  We get on other schools for pulling scholarships, and rightfully so.  Unless there is another side to this story, we shouldn't tolerate it.  I'm not going to sit here and suggest that I don't support the Harbaugh regime, but I wish things like this were not part of the deal.

I'll not too big to say told ya so.  I was one of like 3 people who said this would be a good year after ND.  I got lit up on these boards and I'm not above rubbing that in your miserable faces.

You guys mostly all suck.

My 8yo son is at the game with his friend's family.  It's his first Buckeye game.  (I married into a Buckeye family and live outside of Columbus, so I lost the battle for his fandom.)  I almost feel bad for him.  He's going to be really upset if they don't pull it off.  But I'm still rooting for Nebraska.  I'd like to know after today that Michigan has the B1G East sealed up.

11/01/2018 - 12:04pm If Bama loses to LSU, and…

If Bama loses to LSU, and then Georgia, LSU, and Bama win out, then it would be Georgia and LSU in the SEC CG.  It won't matter which team wins, the winner is in the playoff, and the loser is out with 2 losses.  I really, really do not see how it would be possible for a team that didn't make it into their own championship game, that has a weak strength of schedule, and played nobody out of conference to make the playoffs.  If they put Bama in over any 1-loss P5 champion, it would be unbelievable favoritism towards the SEC.  Worse than the year they had Bama/LSU in that garbage BCS title game.

10/30/2018 - 11:31am I disagree.  They're not…

I disagree.  They're not taking Bama over Michigan if Bama doesn't even make it to the SEC championship and Michigan wins out.  Not even the slightest chance.  And if LSU and Georgia play, one of them leaves with two losses.  I don't think we really care about Bama vs LSU.  In fact, I would be more concerned about Bama winning and then losing their championship game.  If anything, we should root for LSU.

His first sentence was a little harsh, but he did add to the dialogue.  If he would have said "I'm not concerned with where we are ranked," instead, it would have been a fine post.
