It'll all work out in the end. I think they've already made some minor touch ups (number of diaries is down to 3, number of board posts visible is up I think). It's a new site plus it's June. I think once football season kicks into gear the board will be humming with activity again

06/14/2018 - 6:12am Some of these may have been…

Some of these may have been said already

  • It'd be nice if the red "NEW" showed up on new posts in threads again. Hard to tell what's new anymore without re-reading the whole thing
  • Being able to access your profile to see your own recent posts. I sometimes like to go back and see if anyone has replied to something I've said and it's not as easy to do that now
  • Let me see 300 posts per MGoBoard page and then have that setting save please

You yanks just don't understand

Playing in the SEC is so dern tough that it's like playing the Patriots every week.

I'm still pissed we ditched MGoBlog 1.0

If you're interested in a history / civil rights read, I read the MLK biography 'Bearing The Cross' recently which was fascinating and am currently reading 'Devil in the Grove' which is about Thurgood Marshall. Really enjoying that one

06/09/2018 - 8:45am I've wondered for a while if…

I've wondered for a while if the NCAA / College Hockey Inc. has a contract with NBC to have them plug college hockey - at least during the playoffs. I find it interesting how many times the NBC guys will point out what university certain players went to

06/09/2018 - 8:42am If that is why Merrimack was…

If that is why Merrimack was added, then that seems like a silly solution. "We have too few homes games in 2019. Better schedule a random team for a random non-conference game on a Tuesday. That'll appease the season ticket holders"

It's like the UNC academic scandal, but even faster and stronger.

Cool. It’d be nice if they could pull it off, but I’m always a believe it when I see it guy when it comes to rumored D1 hockey programs. Hope it happens

06/03/2018 - 7:10pm I only lived in Michigan for

I only lived in Michigan for about 6 years, but the Pistons always seemed to be the 4th most popular Detroit team and I can’t imagine pissing off a ton of Michigan fans is going to help that a ton

06/03/2018 - 9:23am And a redshirt freshman at that

That's probably not gonna go well

06/01/2018 - 3:21pm Well Brohm's a good coach I guess

Plus the dude's offer list screams 3* or 3*/4* tweener. Coaches don't seem to think he's the 264th best player in the country like 247 does

06/01/2018 - 1:42pm It must be weird scouting and

It must be weird scouting and recruiting as a college hockey coach. You probably start to reach out to these guys when they're 12 or 13.

05/31/2018 - 10:29am That the guy wasn't ready?

I don't even know what you're trying to get at

05/30/2018 - 6:21am I'm pretty sure Tarik Black

I'm pretty sure Tarik Black and DPJ would've been really good last year if they actually had a QB who could get them the ball (and Black wasn't injured obv)

05/29/2018 - 5:33pm My 3 go-tos used to be

My 3 go-tos used to be MGoBlog, Michigan Hockey Net, and Yost Built. I was sad to see both hockey blogs drop out at about the same time - though I know I still see the guy from Yost Built post here from time to time

Also- didn't Ace have a blog before he joined MGoBlog?

05/23/2018 - 9:31pm Like many a Michigan hockey

Like many a Michigan hockey game I've seen where they dominate the game and find themselves down a goal somehow

05/23/2018 - 9:30pm Go Caps

A Washington-Vegas final is one where I could be happy with either team winning

05/23/2018 - 10:15am My '97 Accord was a good one

I got it up to about 230k until the repairs needed on it were quickly nearing the blue book value of the car. Sold it to a guy who flips those cars for a living for a few hundred bucks. I'd like to think it's still out there

05/22/2018 - 9:38pm Wow. At lake state?

Edit: nevermind. They played at Yost in 16-17

I guess I thought they were one of the CCHA teams I thought still hated us based on their absence from any schedule. Still haven't played Northern or Western since the CCHA split. Nor BGSU or Miami - though those are a little more understandable

05/21/2018 - 12:13pm It sure seems to be that a

It sure seems to be that a decent QB can make Gentry almost unguardable, especially in the red zone

05/18/2018 - 4:35pm The novelty of outdoor hockey has been killed

I just think 'terrible ice' when I hear it now

05/18/2018 - 2:11pm We need to stop settling for mediocrity

We need to seek ok tri threat or even quad threat QBs if we want to beat MSU and OSU

05/18/2018 - 10:31am Some population group must care

Networks don't just do things for the sake of doing things. They clearly are making ad money off televising this circus or they wouldn't show it. Is it the 40-80 year old woman demographic that loves this stuff?

05/18/2018 - 10:28am I guess I truly don't

I guess I truly don't understand the fascination with the british royalty. I don't get it. Why do people care about this wedding so much? I think I saw it's gonna be on like 14 channels in the US

05/17/2018 - 1:06pm I do enjoy seeing the Bama fans on reddit can huffy about this

It's amusing to watch them try to say that it's ridiculous for UCF to claim this title, but in the same breath try to justify Bama claiming all the titles they claim.

05/16/2018 - 9:10pm MSU has better uniforms than

MSU has better uniforms than us? Haven't they changed their helmets several times this century?

05/16/2018 - 9:08pm We're like Notre Dame in that

We're like Notre Dame in that we did most of our damage before everyone else got good and then we settled into that 2nd tier for decades where you're very good, but not often a national title threat. Both of us puff up our 9-3 seasons by bragging about things that happened before any of us were born

05/16/2018 - 9:05pm Wisconsin is Michigan's

Wisconsin is Michigan's goal...if Michigan could only recruit 3* players. Wisconsin is great, but their ceiling is lower than Michigan's just because they can't pull in top tier talent that makes you a true national title contender

05/16/2018 - 9:02pm Average coach at best is best

We'd hoped Harbaugh was a top 5 coach. He may be more like a top 15-20 coach in college, at worst. Good, but not good enough to make this program national champs

We can't forget this program was a hot mess when he got here. He immediately made it very good again.

05/16/2018 - 7:32pm Naming the hockey student

Naming the hockey student section "the Children of Yost" was dumb.

05/16/2018 - 6:39pm Especially since many of us

Especially since many of us alums never could've cut it at Michigan PLUS doing football. I totally get guys going to less difficult schools. Plus if you take advantage of it, I feel the networking offerred by any P5 football program far outweighs the modest benefit a Michigan degree offers over others

05/16/2018 - 6:35pm

Simply put, the program

Simply put, the program as a whole does not know how to win big games.

Totally agree. Michigan is often good enough to get close to a national title or to get close enough to finally knock off a great OSU team, but it always seems like we flinch. Often times the coaching is great, or individual players will play great, but when it comes to it, some facet of every team always seem to flinch in the biggest moments

05/16/2018 - 6:32pm I hear you

but I still feel any criticisms of the defense could easily just be redirected to the offense. A decent offensive attack sees the defense giving us comfortable double digit wins all over the place. The defense is just desperately trying to care the vast majority of the work load in most games

05/16/2018 - 6:29pm 1. I agree. I hope that any

1. I agree. I hope that any new arena keeps that Yost feel though. I'd rather not have a minor league hockey rink. I hope we keep it a little cramped and very loud

2. I feel the same. It feels like if Harbaugh and Michigan can't truly break through (like a national title appearance) with some of the good teams we've had around here - 2016, 2018 - then I'll just start to believe 11-1 is our ceiling instead of national title being the ceiling

05/16/2018 - 6:26pm I dunno

Fullbacks under Harbaugh have been pretty frickin sweet. Hammer Panda is like an auto-2 yards. Maybe use a fullback less, but I love that we're using a fullback against what are becoming smaller defenses (to combat the spread)

05/16/2018 - 4:47pm I know. I can't watch OSU clips

We all know the gameplan was beautiful and we win with decent QB play. I'd rather not be reminded again

05/16/2018 - 4:42pm I wonder if Michigan will

I wonder if Michigan will ever get the right combo of recruiting and coaching to win another national title. The population shift from the midwest is not helping us.

05/16/2018 - 12:14pm Seems like a bummer to me

because now it's going to leave the news. MSU makes a (very large) one time payment and people nationally will forget about all the crap. It was barely staying in the public eye as it was. Seems like it's all but over now

05/15/2018 - 12:10pm Back to the old days of

Back to the old days of constantly wondering who was going to defect to the OHL. Scary, but good to be back at it. With the noticable improvement in coaching around here, the future is looking good

05/15/2018 - 10:39am I always recall that

I always recall that northwest area of the Diag being a sketchier than the actual Diag...

05/14/2018 - 12:05pm I think the bubble is near bursting

It won't seriously impact Michigan, because Michigan remains Michigan. It'll kill the smaller, less academically prestigious  schools in state. Your Almas, Adrians, etc.

05/14/2018 - 12:02pm I did not grow up a Michigan fan and did not grow up in MI

The first Michigan sporting event I ever attended was as a freshman at M-Vandy in 2006, now I'm an mgoblog degenerate with 28,000 imaginary points

I don't think one has to grow up loving Michigan to be the kind of fan the arrogant Michigan fans would approve of

05/14/2018 - 6:24am Shrug

MSU remains a pretty solid school. If you're a graduating senior in Michigan, your options for in-state tuition and an education of MSU's caliber or better with D1 athletics mixed in are really just M and MSU. Did we expect everyone to just stop attending MSU?

05/11/2018 - 3:30pm It's going to be hard for me

It's going to be hard for me to believe it's happening until I hear they've signed a LOI. I've seen us lose these guys to blue bloods at the last second too often

05/11/2018 - 12:06pm and we stole most of what we

and we stole most of what we do from Cornell

05/11/2018 - 12:05pm Winnipeg's total metro population is only 778k

Nashville's metro is nearly 2 million, so over twice the size of Winnipeg

05/10/2018 - 11:57am People were pointing out he'll probably be 7 or 7'1

which is going to make him far too big to be an effective OT at this level. Maybe he should think about being a (basketball) center
