In general, people need to drop the "Indiana has played Michigan really close recently" narrative because it's just like every other stat that relies heavily on Hoke and Richrod era situations - it's very misleading

The last 2 years had JOK at starting QB. 2015 is the only real spooky game to me. Nothing in the Hoke or Richrod years has any bearing on this team. Even with the Hoke and Richrod years, Michigan still hasn't lost to Indiana since 1987. We're going to pave them no matter how much past teams didn't

Or he's shutting it down because he's played 4 games now and that's the max you can play and still redshirt...

OSU's punt coverage has directly led to 9 of OSU's 16 points.

OSU's punt team is today's MVP. Killing MSU downing all these inside the 5

11/10/2018 - 9:36am Agreed. People were talking…

Agreed. People were talking about hoping Bama loses to eliminate the 2 SEC team idea, but UGA losing another one is far more likely. Auburn knocking them out today is our best bet. Don't sleep on the Yellow Jackets though

Can't wait for OSU-MSU.

I bet Clemson beats BC by 30 making it that much more difficult for the committee to try to figure out how to convince themselves the ACC is awesome

The fact that some below average performances from a few guys still led to decimating a pretty good offense is fun. Very fun. Let’s think back to the GERG days and enjoy this time in Michigan football.

11/09/2018 - 12:38pm It would need something like…

It would need something like 2014. A lot of uncertainty about who takes the #4 spot, and Michigan would have to absolutely steamroll someone in the Big Ten title game. Like a 63-0 shellacking type of game

Not even a link to the story?

Seems like this is about the year where Piscataway turns into Ryan Field East. Rutgers put some butts in the seats the last few times out of excitement for the Big Ten and the new big boys coming to town. Now that I think we've sufficiently bludgeoned them and the new excitement has worn off, I fully expect the field to be taken over by our east coast alums for many, many years to come

11/09/2018 - 5:45am Well Wake beating NC State…

Well Wake beating NC State should help drag down the perception of the ACC. Clemson throttling BC may even help that cause as well because it may make the ACC look like the one team league that it is

Definitely thought the passage you were going for at first was the one below

23 From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some boys came out of the town and jeered at him. “Get out of here, baldy!” they said. “Get out of here, baldy!” 24 He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the Lord. Then two [wolver]bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys.

FSU's O-line is still a disaster. Book being out will probably take this from being a 28-6 game to a 17-6 game. Cuse and USC will be more interesting

11/07/2018 - 2:31pm MSU fell into the same trap…

MSU fell into the same trap a bunch of other mid-level P5 schools do. Largely, they are unable to grab the interest of those top 100 / top 250 prospects so in order to get talent on their team they take the riskier ones. MSU clearly didn't want to know the truth and basically just wanted to see if everything would work out. The fact that the guy perpetually in trouble with the law in high school was suddenly in trouble with the law in college is a surprise to no one. Especially Mark Dantonio who knew exactly what he was doing

11/07/2018 - 1:51pm The implications of the…

The implications of the logic in putting LSU above some of the one loss teams are a little shocking. Does this mean Alabama is basically a lock for the playoff even if they lose 1 or 2 games because the committee thinks they’re better than some other teams? They certainly leave that door open

11/07/2018 - 12:17pm That would be awesome, but…

That would be awesome, but the chances of that are very very slim. They only have Mississippi State and Auburn to go. Neither of those teams have an offense.

Bama is probably going to roll both of those teams by 30+

11/07/2018 - 6:04am I don't understand how you…

I don't understand how you keep a crappy Florida team up at #15 only dropping them 4 spots! Did no one notice they got hammered by a mediocre Mizzou team? If Florida was in the Big Ten or Pac12, I'd bet a dollar they'd drop 10+ spots if not out of the rankings entirely. Insanity

11/07/2018 - 6:00am The only people in america…

The only people in america who think Herbstreit is biased are

  • Ohio State fans who hate him because he won't slobber on OSU
    and
  • Michigan fans who just assume he's biased for OSU every time he doesn't slobber on Michigan

Dude is a really solid, unbiased commentator and is sometimes the one talking head on ESPN vouching for Michigan the hardest (like during the ranking show last night)

11/07/2018 - 5:54am I don't know if I'll ever…

I don't know if I'll ever try it, but I see it as a fairly harmless substance that we spend a stupid amount of time and money trying to prosecute and incarcerate people for. For those reasons alone, I'm in favor of just letting people smoke weed. We've got better things to worry about in this country

11/06/2018 - 8:58pm I’ll pull for him no matter…

I’ll pull for him no matter where he goes. Seems like a great kid. Too bad it didn’t pan out for him here. I know he really wanted it! Good luck to him

11/05/2018 - 3:19pm Thanks for that. I knew I…

Thanks for that. I knew I just saw it somewhere else recently.

And I agree it should be illegal. There's no use to the play other than to simulate a false start. Use it while you can, but it should be illegal for next season

11/05/2018 - 12:10pm Uh no. I was at the game (as…

Uh no. I was at the game (as were many others). The cheer was strong right off the bat. I was taken aback by how enthusiastic it was because I was thinking it might be a mixed or subdued reaction.

cant blame him for coming off the field all smiles. Im sure he was as nervous as any of us x100

11/04/2018 - 5:32pm The rankings from like #11…

The rankings from like #11-40 are just a mess of mediocre P5 teams that everyone is just like “are they good?...*shrug* i dunno. But they arent winning their conference or making the playoff”. Its just a mess of slightly good P5 teams and actually good G5 teams

11/01/2018 - 4:10pm It's a weird dynamic going…

It's a weird dynamic going on that continues to showcase the divide between small school D1 hockey and big school D1 hockey. It's fascinating and frustrating to watch the big name schools compete with the CHL for recruits and the smaller schools go for the 20 year old freshmen, and then both are trying to put huge limitation on how the other guys recruit. D1 hockey seems like this weird, unhappy marriage since CCHA dissolved where neither really likes the other but they know they can't live without each other either. I'm not sure how that relationship ever gets repaired back to the CCHA/WCHA days. Will be interesting to see how the next 20-30 years of hockey looks

11/01/2018 - 12:23pm He's definitely good now,…

He's definitely good now, but in the same breath I think it's also fair to say he arm-punted his way to the Rose Bowl in 2016. He sucked then, but people need to realize he's gotten a heck of a lot better since he last came to A2

11/01/2018 - 5:45am With the CFP only being 4…

With the CFP only being 4 teams, I can't agree that going undefeated should be an autobid. If you do that, all the P5 teams will start loading up on cupcakes. How many P5 teams go undefeated against UCF's schedule? There's probably 20-30 teams who would

Hey Dave, 2015 called. They want their takes back

This guy writes like his only knowledge of Harbaugh is other people's hot takes. All these comparisons to neolithic offenses and channeling the 1980's. Dude might as well have saved himself a few hours of typing and just written "I haven't actually watched Michigan play, but I assume they suck"

I've been pleasantly surprised that none of Michigan's games have been stuck in BTN yet and didn't know about that contractual obligation. Is there a BTN Ocho they can stick it on?

True, but we can't pretend the media perception of teams doesn't have an impact on CFP voters.

Watching Urban try to coach in the NFL would be hilarious. Some guys are built for NFL leadership, other guys built for college i.e. some guys can't lead if they don't have absolute control over the team. I bet Urban would last less time than Saban did

Hard to say, but I'd bet Asiasi would be eating most of McKeon's snaps.

10/29/2018 - 12:22pm This sounds cliche, but I…

This sounds cliche, but I feel it'll depend on what the national media cling onto. Do they love OU for their offense? Or hate them for their weak SOS and lack of defense? Do they love Michigan for winning the Big Ten, having a really good loss in ND, and playing in the tough B1G east? Or do they hate Michigan because it turns out the Big Ten isn't as good as we thought and Wisconsin, MSU, and PSU are all kinda crappy?

Way too early to tell

10/29/2018 - 10:33am Louisville is home for Brohm…

Louisville is home for Brohm though, and it's certainly easier to recruit Louisville than West Lafayette. Being in the ACC, he can at least promise kids from Florida that they'll be in Atlanta, Tallahassee, or Miami frequently.
