06/03/2018 - 6:13pm Do you really think Harbaugh

Do you really think Harbaugh doesn't dislike OSU?  He played in The Game, he's coached in The Game.  He's been around Michigan his whole life.  I'm pretty sure he shares the same hatred for OSU that we do.

06/02/2018 - 4:10pm And we embarrassed Penn State

And we embarrassed Penn State 2 years ago.  They lost a lot of talent and come to Ann Arbor.  Michigan should win that game.  As for the others it's wait and see.  Wisconsin has to come to Ann Arbor but I think they'll have a very good team and MSU is always tough, especially in EL.

05/27/2018 - 11:35pm You're comparing the groups

You're comparing the groups lol, not individual players to Jake Butt.  And you just proved my point: 43 catches for 561 yards (with vastly worse QB play) vs 46 catches for 546 yards.  So thank you.

05/27/2018 - 10:24pm WR and TE are hard to judge

WR and TE are hard to judge because the QB play was so bad last year.  Even so, the TE's were pretty darn productive.

05/27/2018 - 2:42pm Who says Harbaugh can't

Who says Harbaugh can't recruit???

05/26/2018 - 5:13pm Dunkirk was supposed to be

Dunkirk was supposed to be from the viewpoints of the various characters involved (soldiers, pilots, civilians).  It's unlikely they would know the explanation to the Germans' tactical errors.

05/25/2018 - 10:14pm Best choice for him?  Thought

Best choice for him?  Thought I saw that Auburn TE's had something like 3 catches all year last year.  Not a big deal from our standpoint (no pun intended) but a bizarre choice for him IMO

05/25/2018 - 8:36pm Can you blame him for not

Can you blame him for not liking Drevno?

05/24/2018 - 8:17pm Didn't we run play action on

Didn't we run play action on like 4th and 20 one time?  I don't think 4 was the issue.  And like you said, PA should simplify the reads for the QBs.  I think OL blocking was probably the biggest issue in that regard.  Shea and Ed Warriner are, without a doubt, the 2 biggest keys to a successful season.

05/24/2018 - 4:32pm MSU basketball doesn't have

MSU basketball doesn't have the cachet that OSU football does.  I don't think MSU could attract a Meyer-like successor (not that there's one available anyways)

05/24/2018 - 2:27pm He doesn't get credit for

He doesn't get credit for developing them.  They were both the #1 player in the country coming out of HS and would've been the #1 pick in the draft with or without attending Kentucky.

05/24/2018 - 2:12pm Yep. Does Calipari suddenly

Yep. Does Calipari suddenly get credit for guys like Davis and Towns?

05/23/2018 - 1:35pm People are concerned about

People are concerned about the way recruiting has been trending since last cycle.  Harbaugh landed 2 great classes in his first 2 full cycles, but since then it seems to have taken a downturn.  The issue is that Michigan isn't really a high school football hotbed, so when there is a strong in-state class it's important that we take advantage of that, which it doesn't really appear we're gonna do this cycle.  Granted, things could change especially if we win big this year.  We shall see how things shake out.

05/23/2018 - 10:26am They ranked 4th in defensive

They ranked 4th in defensive S&P.  They ranked 92nd in offensive S&P (worse than us at 85).  So yeah, tell me how their great QB couldn't even lead them to a better offensive performance than us.

05/22/2018 - 11:57pm Not reading that wall of

Not reading that wall of text.  MSU's offense was ranked almost as bad as ours, the reason they won games is because of a top 5 defense.

05/19/2018 - 9:15pm I think that's a lazy

I think that's a lazy argument.  OSU has been better than us for the past 15 years, nothing more nothing less.  We've also had some shit luck in these games, but it's not because we aren't taking the game seriously enough.  Urban has only blown us out once, despite having much better teams pretty much every year except 2016.  It's just that "we're not taking it seriously enough" is easier to say and accept than "they're simply better than we are".  With Patterson in the fold now, I think that changes this year.

05/17/2018 - 12:40pm Still have to land them.

Still have to land them.  We've been the bridesmaid too often.  No doubt that any of them would be huge pickups.

05/16/2018 - 8:14pm Yaklich is due for a big pay

Yaklich is due for a big pay raise soon

05/06/2018 - 4:18pm Unfortunately it seems JBB is

Unfortunately it seems JBB is a disaster as far as pass protection goes.  If he's the starting LT I'm not sure I love our chances, unless Shea is truly Houdini.

05/06/2018 - 3:39pm LT is pretty important.  QB

LT is pretty important.  QB and LT are probably the 2 places where you want to be rock solid.

05/06/2018 - 2:56pm How can we laugh at the

How can we laugh at the Sparty narrative?  It's been over a decade that they've been better than us.  Harbaugh has yet to change that, unfortunately.

05/06/2018 - 2:16pm Losing Wheatley really hurt.

Losing Wheatley really hurt. He was our ace in-state recruiter. We need to find a replacement in that regard, because frankly struggling with in-state recruiting like this (especially in what looks to be such a strong year) can't and shouldn't happen.

05/03/2018 - 6:41pm Not sure why Urban continues

Not sure why Urban continues to try and do this.  Trying out for the NFL perhaps?  He's tried this multiple times and his teams have suffered for it IMO.  John Brantley at Florida went 8-5 in Urban's final year, Cardale Jones was benched in favor of Barrett.  He's a spread guru and his spread offense is ridiculously effective, so if he wants to go more pro-style I'm all for it.

05/01/2018 - 6:08pm There's like 50 points

There's like 50 points between those 2 spots

04/26/2018 - 2:11pm I'd put Chris Mack up there

I'd put Chris Mack up there over Sean Miller.  Also Izzo is not top 5.  You need to have some semblance of recent success to be considered top 5 (which guys like Coach K and Williams do).  No one cares that he won a title and went to 3 straight Final Fours 20 years ago.

04/14/2018 - 11:02pm I don't think you know Urban

I don't think you know Urban Meyer or OSU in general if you think they took any aspect of the Michigan game lightly.  They handled Sam Darnold because they had a month to prepare, Meyer is a MUCH better coach than Helton, and USC wasn't that good and benefitted greatly from a very weak Pac-12.  Competent QB play changes the Michigan-OSU game dramatically, probably into a victory for us.

04/14/2018 - 9:33pm I don't disagree.  But based

I don't disagree.  But based on reports that "maybe" is like 75% a yes or so.  I'll take it, and if eligible he provides us with above average QB play that would've won us all but the Penn State game last year.  If he's ruled ineligible then yeah, the QB position becomes a reason for skepticism.

04/14/2018 - 8:59pm Shea Patterson, a top 10

Shea Patterson, a top 10 defense that returns 9 starters, no more Drevno

04/01/2018 - 6:46pm I just don't take MSU fans'

I just don't take MSU fans' complaints seriously.  I mean, they lost to an 11 seed that was the very last team in the field.  It's a bit ironic for them to complain about someone else getting an easy draw.

04/01/2018 - 6:43pm Did you see the types of

Did you see the types of classes that Matta was landing in his heyday?  Kentucky type classes at freaking Ohio State?  Dude was not clean

03/30/2018 - 2:38pm Not sure why defenses

Not sure why defenses switching has caused such an issue for this team.  We abused Louisville last year when they switched by letting Wagner post up the smaller defenders.  Not sure why we can't do that again.  Also Simpson should be a mismatch for any big man trying to guard him with his quickness and ability to get to the rim.  I guess we'll see.

03/27/2018 - 9:13pm Hopefully they're more like

Hopefully they're more like the 03-04 Pistons

03/25/2018 - 1:22am Incredible run, and we have a

Incredible run, and we have a great chance to finish it off.  Loyola is no pushover, but let's be honest, we should beat them.  Then, if we can get 1 more hot shooting night next Monday, we can cap off a truly special season.  This team deserves it.

03/23/2018 - 12:22am With FSU, KSU, and Loyola

With FSU, KSU, and Loyola winning, our path to the national championship game is as clear as it could ever be.  Get there, and hopefully the sports gods will make up for taking away the championship we deserved in 2013.

03/18/2018 - 12:44am I don't care if he doesn't

I don't care if he doesn't score another point for the rest of his career. Jordan Poole is a fucking legend.

03/13/2018 - 11:47pm Alford is terrible.

Alford is terrible. Basketball Brady Hoke.

03/13/2018 - 12:21pm We're a 3 seed, we should

We're a 3 seed, we should make it to the 2nd weekend of the tournament.  It wouldn't take away from the Big Ten tourney title, and it sure as hell wouldn't take away from the dominance over "Izzo's most talented team ever", but flaming out in the 1st weekend would be disappointing.

03/13/2018 - 11:54am I think this team needs to at

I think this team needs to at least make it to the Sweet 16.  Houston is good but we should beat them.  Although I will admit that I would be disappointed with a loss to UNC, considering how well we're playing it really seems like this team should make it all the way to San Antonio but UNC is a tough matchup.

However, I disagree that this is a transition year.  Next year we'll be more talented, sure, but we're likely losing our 2 best players from this team in MAAR and Wagner.  While it's reasonable to expect that the incoming freshmen/improvement from the current young guys will keep this team playing at a high level, it's going to be very difficult to replace those 2 players (especially Wagner, who's such a unique player at the 5 spot), not to mention DR as well.

03/12/2018 - 6:54pm They already have 3 double

They already have 3 double digit losses to tournament teams, and already lost to Duke who was playing without Bagley.  Maybe they get lucky and Duke bows out early, but there is nothing to suggest that MSU is the best team in the field.

03/12/2018 - 5:37pm It's ESPN.  You think they

It's ESPN.  You think they actually watch the games?  Hell, all of the analysts picked MSU to win it all despite them beating 2 good teams all year.

He'd probably do better than a 1st year starter will

03/08/2018 - 12:42pm Would've liked to see the

Would've liked to see the Nick Ward missed layup in here.  That was a glorious moment.  It's hilarious how easily Ward can mentally be taken out of a game.

03/04/2018 - 10:40pm Agreed, and for some reason

Agreed, and for some reason he really seems to get under Izzo's skin.  Gotta like him for that.

03/04/2018 - 8:48pm Despite the occasional

Despite the occasional shooting struggles, especially at the free throw line, this team has been incredibly fun to watch.  Dare I say this team may be Beilein's best.  Probably not as loaded with NBA talent as the Burke and Stauskas teams but you combine what is a top 6 defense with a typical Beilein offense, which this offense is turning out to be, and you get a team that should be one of the favorites to win it all.  Great season, let's win 6 more.

An 8 seed is probably underrating Michigan?  Boy, that author is a genius

03/02/2018 - 8:51pm PSU isn't bad by any means.

PSU isn't bad by any means.  But that doesn't make it any less hilarious that OSU went 0-3 against them.

03/02/2018 - 6:29pm The only flaw I see in this

The only flaw I see in this team right now is free throw shooting. Sure they have the occasional off shooting night, but otherwise they're rolling offensively. They have great defense, great rebounding, depth. They're one of the best teams in the country right now.
