I 100000% percent get this…

I 100000% percent get this point. I really do. But it simply doesn't matter. Michigan football has been irrelevant for 25 years, and it was because of Jim Harbaugh that it was made elite again.

I 100% am in the camp that Michigan could have given Harbaugh everything he wanted. 15 million a year, no buyout, full immunity from NCAA and he would have gone back to NFL. Regardless, the most important thing Warde will do, and has done at UofM will be this hiring or resignation.

Whether or not it's fair to Warde is actually irrelevant. He had to succeed at this, and he didn't, so he has to go.

Saying that too, if we had heard stories that Warde did everything he could, the school offered everything Jim wanted in a timely manner and Jim still said no then MAYBE you could reconcile it. But it didn't happen that way. And Jim reportedly hated Warde. Warde simply has got to go. Others can do what he is doing, and could potentially do it better, the time has come.

Warde simply has has got to…

Warde simply has has got to go...

I don't care how much Harbaugh wanted to go to the NFL. That point is irrelevant, because the only thing that mattered was keeping Jim in AA. No matter what the reasoning is, short of Harbaugh saying outright, "I will not be returning to AA as I want to go to the NFL", the most important task of Warde's tenure as UofM AD was retaining Jim Harbaugh and he failed at that.

No other person - executive director, C-level, president, whatever title, at that upper echelon, would be allowed to continue their employment if they failed the number one task in their tenure.

Every time I watched a game…

Every time I watched a game of the U it seemed like the reason he struggled was his o-line was complete ass. He spent more time on his backside than on his feet. He reminded me of he early Lions Stafford years, where you could tell he was a solid QB but his o-line was getting him killed. Same with DG.

Leaders and Best. Right...

Leaders and Best. Right...

Well, enjoy what we had folks because it's over after this year. I think our chances of three-peating are slimmer now, but I still like our chance. Anyone that thinks Harbaugh will return to this garbage of a situation are the same folks that think that rolling over to this was the right thing to do.

This university is ran by a bunch of cowards, and it's alumni have complacently accepted it. This was a moment for the University to show that being a leader means standing up for what's right. Even in the face of evidence, due process matters for everyone, for my friends as well as my enemies. The University could have shown strength by standing by that message even in the face of a loss. Instead they chose the cowardly way out.

The University of Michigan has become that "too big to fail" and what I mean by that is, it has a huge tradition of past excellence that drives that continues to drive that excellence forward. It doesn't mean what's being done in the present is and continues to be excellent. The University is ran by cowards, and it's alumni are accepting that, and future students will see that too. Rome didn't fall overnight, neither will the University of Michigan, but I challenge that the morals and traditions that made this university great are being diminished regularly and routinely.

Don't call yourself a leader if you're afraid to lead and stand up for what's right.

Honestly, even if Harbaugh…

Honestly, even if Harbaugh directly hired this guy stating in his interview directly that they are paying him to cheat, if the Big Ten suspends Harbaugh indefinitely without due process and the university bends over and takes it I will never watch another Michigan sporting event in my life.

I'm sick of cancel culture in this society. I'm sick of mob mentality. And most importantly I'm sick of what this country accepts as Journalism. I am but one man, one voice, but I will hold onto my integrity as that is all I can do.

If anyone can find proof of wrong doing that was coordinated throughout the program, fine, fire Harbaugh. Hell, even if you can prove that Stallions broke rules, suspend Harbaugh, vacate wins if necessary, and take money. But not until any part of it is proven.

Sadly, I think this will be a breaking point in US society. Politics aside, we have let Idiocracy run amok to a point where we have let it become the standard. We are fed lies and bullshit by our journalist and we accept it because "that's my team". Well it's time for that reckoning to happen. Let due process fail and take down everything with it.

This is kind of misleading…

This is kind of misleading in regards to Starlink. Starlink requires complete open view of the northern sky. Anything, and I mean anything, in its field of view with the sky will obstruct your connection and you'll have issues.

If you have a clear view to the sky the service is quite good. A full, clear view you can get 200 Mbps down and 50 up with 30ish ping. It's not amazing but it's serviceable for almost all normal home use.

Good on you for keeping your…

Good on you for keeping your word on your online anonymous bets.

I've made two bets online for a donation to my charity vs your charity, and won both, ghosted both times. People are lame. Today OP was not lame.

Got what you deserved though for betting on a thing you didn't actually want to happen though.

I remember my senior year of…

I remember my senior year of high school football. My team was rival with another team that had just been brought up of a hazing scandal that involved, essentially, sexual assault, on other players in the locker room (I will spare the blog the details). My team, while we had the common "boys will be boys" thing especially before and after practice/weight training, never had anything similar in any fashion. Sure the Seniors might call you a "dumb freshmen" but tbf you probably did something dumb. My team was also really good, as in state championship good that year, and we just so happened to be playing that team the week the story came out.

We were both 6-0 I remember because at that time 6 wins was the number to get into the playoffs. That game was always a rivalry, where hard play and hard smack talk was standard. At that time, because we basically had a 10 year run on the conference, every team in our conference hated us and brought their best at us both via their gameplay and their smack talk. This game was no different except my team kind of kept quiet and went about our business, until the smack talk started on their end. Without directly referencing the words that were said, even though I remember them clearly, the smack talk ended abruptly when we made it clear how disgusted we were by their actions and how that kind of stuff never happened with us. We ended up quickly dismantling them. And they finished that season with 6 wins and never came close to sniffing another W.

So yeah, not only could I never, ever, fathom doing anything like that. I also held the belief of "how the hell could that make for a better team?" The answer is simply, it doesn't.

You may have a faulty phone…

You may have a faulty phone and/or charger. I would suggest you look into adaptive charging and making sure you're using an actual compliant charger for the phone. Combine those two together and I literally never worry about my battery anymore. I can plug it in every night when I go to bed, and have perfect 100% battery when I wake up that will last close to 48 hours. And I'm pretty reliant on my phone these days for Teams/Outlook etc since I have gone 100% WFH in an IT field. Adaptive charging was a game changer for me.

I have been on the Pixel…

I have been on the Pixel train since the Pixel XL. I got that and Google Fi at the same time - 2016/2017ish. I still find Google Fi to be the best price and service over any provider I've ever had and all of our Pixel phones worked great through their lifecycles. Upgrading mine and my wife's phone this fall, and giving my daughter one of our Pixel 6s when we upgrade. And honestly, there is a part of me that doesn't even want to upgrade. With the adaptive charging push a while ago, my phone battery can last two days on heavy use - which is mind blowing to me. Still get "first in line" updates/upgrades. And the only issue, which is a knock Google has had on their android phones for eternity now is sometimes Bluetooth is just a PITA to connect. To this day, sometimes it just won't connect in my car when I start up. I have to shutdown the bluetooth service and restart it. Same with other BT devices. That is the only knock I have ever been able to have on any Pixel phones, especially with the insane battery usage I get now with proper usage of adaptive charging.

I can't stand apple products so iPhone is out for me. Samsung interfaces and bloatware make me shy away. #Pixel4Life

First of all, "even after…

First of all, "even after two wildly successful seasons" isn't really true. Wildly successful for Michigan fans - yes. "Wildly successful" for the elite programs of the country, not so much. We beat OSU and won the Big Ten twice, but that's it. Again, I'm a fan, I'm as excited as all of us on this blog, but "wildly successful" is actually winning a championship, heck even playing for one comes close.

Having said that though, I think the football program has done that in many ways already. I don't have the links, and I CBA to look them up, but when they do the recruiting class in review once the class has graduated and you see Michigan re-ranked from the 10-20 class at time of signing to 3-10 at graduation, I think this speaks for itself.

I believe, for the most part, Michigan gets probably 70-80% of the recruits they want to fit the way they want to play. Sure they miss our but even Saban and Kirby miss out too, albeit more like the 90-95% range.

To give one example, I think the way Michigan recruits receivers fits into it. When Harbaugh came here originally they brought in huge classes of top, star receivers. They've since stopped doing that because they want receivers to play the way Jim wants them to play and that's block first, catch second and you're not going to bring in high stars that only want to look like Randy Moss. It seems to be working for them.

I enjoy some whiskey and…

I enjoy some whiskey and beer responsibly so don't get me wrong...

But when it comes to live events, I enjoy my... other... substances that the great city of Ann Arbor provides. A nice cannabis vape pen, so as to not push "smoke" and the smell that burning adds. I have enjoyed many a live event with the pen in hand, and my butt in the seat for the whole game. As others have said, no waiting in line to piss all the time. No waiting in line for another $15 beer. Same, if not better, buzz and I've never been that drunk obnoxious asshole at the game. I'm sure someone has been annoyed at my "smoking" but I always try to be self concious about that, and no one has ever once said anything to me or to an usher about it.

Was it realistic to expect…

Was it realistic to expect to start winning the Big Ten right off the bat? No.

Was it realistic to expect that his first 5 years he would have 0 big ten titles, 0 CFP appearances, and basically most all of the losses outlined in the OP? No. And people called for his job for it. The last two seasons have essentially fixed that, which is my point...

It just goes to show the old…

It just goes to show the old adage "winning cures everything" to be true. These stats are, less than desirable, especially to what we all expected to when Harbaugh was hired. However, after the last two seasons, and what is predicted for 2023, no Michigan fan in their right mind is calling for his job.

I agree with you, except for…

I agree with you, except for Matt Millen. He sucks as a TV analyst too.

I could probably list 44-27…

I could probably list 44-27 of my favorite games in the rivalry, but, other than 2021, my favorite is 2003.

2003 is special to me in a LOT of ways and it's a day that I'll never forget. 1) Michigan won. 2) I turned 18 years old that day. 3) I was playing MI HS football and my team won the state semi-final game that day (and would go on to win the state title a week later). Ironically I didn't even get to watch that game in real time.

I personally never counted the year Hoke beat OSU against Adam Sandler, I mean Fickle... I told my then 9 year old daughter last year on my 36th birthday (as my bday is always around the The Game) that all I wanted for my bday that year was a UofM win over OSU. That "it had been 18 years since the last true feeling victory, and how it was conicidental that it was my 18th birthday, and now 18 years later I feel like they could actually do it". She thought that was pretty neat way of looking at it. So, in that regard 2021 is my second favorite win.

Yep I don't gamble because,…

Yep I don't gamble because, I like having my money, but I told all my gambling friends to bet on this one. I forget where, maybe here in this blog or one of the 500 Michigan sports podcasts I watch that said something exactly along those lines - Hawaii was playing really nice with the AD and football program and there was no way the score was going to be overly ran up on them.

Jim seems very much that way - talk shit? Get hit. Be an ambassador of the game? Get treated with respect on and off the field.

I really hope Jim means what…

I really hope Jim means what he said about the NFL. Because he is building a program not only on the field, but also on the sidelines. It's clear that Jay can coach, and one would think he'll only continue to get better.

Same sith coach Hart. And neither of those guys have the proclivity to the NFL that Jim has. If Jim is truly over the NFL like he said, then this program can reach the likes of Bama and Georgia over the next 10 years, and when it's Jim's time to retire he can handle his football program on the field onto the coaching program he created in the sideline and be confident in it.

I know this had nothing to do with the article per se, it's just the feeling of where the program is, where it's headed, and the thought of where it could be.

I think overall OSU is small…

I think overall OSU is small notch below Bama/Georgia, yeah. The gap is wider between Bama/Georgia and Michigan though. I'm as big a fan as anyone, but let's be honest.

Also you have to factor in things like rivalry games, home field advantage, etc... that can narrow that gap between the likes of Michigan vs OSU. Michigan will not have that added weight to balance the scales against the likes of Bama/Georgia in the CFP.

Don't get me wrong, this is not me shitting on the program by any means. But the reality is, non-Michigan fans, and the media are now going to say "Michigan, you beat OSU, you won the big ten, and you made the CFP, those are now your expectations, if you falter (even in a close win) to a team like Iowa/Maryland, etc... you're going to hear about it in a big way"

I'd start by saying, as a…

I'd start by saying, as a fan I believe the pinnacle that UofM can reach this year is the same as last year. Beat OSU, win the Big Ten, and making the CFP - I believe these are achievable goals and as doable for this season as they were last season. I still don't think they're going to be able to compete in the playoff with a team like Bama or Georgia, the program is not ready for that. So ultimately my "fan feeling" is, it doesn't matter the QB, this should be a GREAT season, with 11+ W's in the win column.

As for my coach or analyst feeling it's a bit different. Like the guy in the video said, Michigan's offensive ceiling is with JJ running the show. Likewise, I believe their offensive floor may also be with JJ running the show. I believe with Cade you will get a very steady in-between. I believe with JJ the sky is the limit, but also opportunity for failure is higher. And with a game like the Iowa game, a TO or two from the young quarterback could spell failure in a tough environment and cause a very close L in a very grueling 14-13 game.

However, Michigan, as a program, has to start looking at goals beyond OSU and the Big Ten, and EXPECT that those are achievable milestones of every season. They have beat OSU, they have won the Big Ten for the first time in the Big Ten championship game era, and they made the CFP. The program now has to expect to do those things, and they have to focus the program on how to now start to beat Georgia/Alabama and in order to do that, I think that JJ has to be part of that formula. So, if Jim and staff, really, truly think they can make that next step of beating the Georgia/Bama/Clemson of the world, then they need to have the guts to take the next step and make JJ the QB. If they don't think the program is ready to make that step, they should stick with Cade, and not risk those close L's.

I don't envy Jim the decision, but do applaud him for having his program in position to have a good-great season no matter the decision.

A few Rush songs get me now that Neil Peart is dead. The world is a smaller place without him.

Pneuma huh?

I just wish…

Pneuma huh?

I just wish that Maynard had popped off on this album. Just once. The whole album needed just one Maynard scream in it and it would have been a masterpiece and imo it's a shame it never happened because now it's their best and probably last? piece of work together and it's always going to be missing that.

"You are now listening to…

"You are now listening to Run the Jewels 3"

Tons of classics ITT, but no one has listed, imo, the best rap album of the last 5 years.

Killer Mike and El-P needed each other to take their careers to the next level and I'm so glad they did. Imo RTJ3 is their best work but I love all their albums.

I'll take the downvotes but…

I'll take the downvotes but this sounds pretty lame to me. Kids like music... Athletes tend to like music to get their blood and adrenaline flowing...

No wonder they can't recruit...

Is this college or prison? Ffs Jim is a maniac.

I see the humor in this in the sense that Jim has probably taken a few too many hits to the head in his day, but am I the only one to find this a little bit odd?

We already can upload our…

We already can upload our conscious to storage it's just that the average human brain was several 100 petabytes of storage (or something crazy like that) and so mostly impractical to today's storage standards. But as I say that I'm writing it from a machine that has 30 terabytes of storage locally, and 20 years ago 1 terabyte was a dream so it's not far off on the storage requirements.

The real question is what do we do with it after?

I like the idea of creating conscious backups of ourselves, and cloning new bodies as we need them. But if we have the ability to do such a thing, why wouldn't we at least enhance our skin and bone and other organs with some sort of artificial material that at least makes us bullet proof, or fire resistant, or impact resistant, or unable to drown, etc... in which case are we still human?

I think I'd mostly agree…

I think I'd mostly agree with you. The thing is Waters without Gilmour you branch too far into the psychedelic or experimental. They needed the balance of one another.

Waters wrote great lyrics. Gilmour wrote great music and is a better overall instrumentalist and singer.

I think they're both brilliant I just enjoy Gilmour more overall.

I get your point. Roger …

I get your point. Roger (River) wrote good songs, but David wrote some beautiful music and is one of the best blues/rock guitarist of all time. David is also a 10x better vocalist than Roger could ever hope to be.

I don't want to take away from what River did for Pink Floyd, but David is a far more well rounded musician. If River doesn't want to be involved that's on him, and it's a pity really, because this is for a cause, neither of those gentlemen need money. River should put aside his squabbles like he did for live aide.

Maybe River wasn't even invited.

I'm sorry, but to hell with…

I'm sorry, but to hell with Jim. Regardless of if he leaves or not, I'm over him.

Up until the 2021 season he had won nothing. Nothing of significance. Yep he didn't lose to a MAC school, or have an embarasing loss to App St. but didn't win anything of significance.

Statistically Jake Rudock was his best QB.

How many All Americans did JH and staff recruit that weren't legacy recruits?

I'll appreciate the 2021 season much like I'll always appreciate the 2012 season. To me, they're not a whole lot different. That 2012 team was probably not as good, and had a hell of a lot more "luck" (turnovers) but they won a lot of football games. Definitely 2021 beating OSU, I was stoked to the point I almost shed a single man tear. But losing to MSU, living in MI and having so many MSU family/friends it puts a tarnish, no matter how small, on the season. Losing to MSU and getting smashed by Georgia like they were, puts that season in the good to great category for me.

Fact is JH had one good to great season, two good seasons, and a bunch of other season that were so average that I struggle to even remember them and of course 2020 when the program stopped due to "Covid" (I don't deny the impact of Covid-19 but let's be real a lot of good teams kept playing and a lot of bad teams quit).

Michigan hasn't had a lot of coaches so it's hard to compare them IMO but in the last 25 years I'd say it's this - Lloyd >>>> Jim >> Brady > Rich. Which I think everyone would agree on.

The problem is on that line, Jim is a lot closer to Brady than he is Lloyd. I don't think any of us would have thought that would be the case.

If it weren't for Brady putting his QB back into the game when he clearly had a concussion, I for one, would put Brady above JH spitefully. I liked Brady Hoke but that was so inexcusable it forever changed the optics of his history and how he ran the UofM football program. I know a LOT of people would argue this with me, but Brady loved being Michigan's head coach, I'm not sure JH ever did. JH did a lot of things better than Brady for the program, and I'm probably just extremely bitter right now, but it's how I feel right now. In 5 years I will probably feel different.

I just hope to god that they hire the right replacement. I don't want another win vs OSU in the next 10 years, I want a rivalry again.

Certainly! So a sous vide is…

Certainly! So a sous vide is a cooking device where you cook things packaged and submerged in water. The device keeps the water a precise exact temp therefore you can cook anything to the exact temp you want. It's kind of cheat codes for cooking, because if you want your steak medium rare set it to 128 and it will be 128 in the middle, just add a sear on the cast iron, grill, or better yet torch and you've got a perfect steak.

On the Weber I always do a reverse sear with lump charcoal. Split your grill into two sides one side with coals one side without. I like lump charcoal because it's hottest and least ashy. Get the coals ripping hot. Literally cook your steaks in the fire about 60 seconds on each side to build the sear. Then turn your grate so the steaks are on the side without the coals. Using a meat thermometer (I suggest anyway) cook the steaks in indirect heat with the lid on until they reach 130, or your preferred temp.

Lol I hear ya. Don't get me…

Lol I hear ya. Don't get me wrong I love pulled pork from the bork butt too. Tbf the one and only time I got the Wagyu from Costco myself and two of my buddies split it and took turns cooking for one another and our other friends. We split the roast into thirds and cooked them different ways different times. Incredible feasts that the friends and family will not forget.

At risk of sounding like…

At risk of sounding like some sort of meat asshole, I'm just going to say that beef has become a deeper way of life for me and I don't go to steak houses anymore.

Once I learned how to properly cook a steak myself and got some tools to make it easy I could no longer find a steak house that was satisfying. A sous vide and then my Weber Performer. Once you learn how to properly cook your steak with these tools I kind of ruined the steak house for myself, even at good to decent steak houses I would just rather go to a different restauraunt type if I'm going to spend that type of money. Not to say there aren't great steak houses out there, it's just for me if I want steak, I'll make it, and if I want to go out I'm eating something else.

These days have led me to try to find the best cuts of meat for the best prices. Imo the best cuts of steak are picanha > ribeye > filet > strip. Most people have not had picanha because it's kind of hard to find in the states but if you see a picanha roast in your local meat shop I suggest you pick one up and try it.

Costco has an A5 wagyu ribeye roast anywhere from $700-$1000. It's a pretty decent price for what you'll get. Imo the best way to eat is as as a sushi role. Slice the steak thin, cook it hot and fast, put it on Shirakiku rice with the Mizkan sushi vinegar. Add some sous vide egg yolks as a sauce and this is to die for combo. Pair it with your favorite red wine and it's something you won't soon forget.

Dry aged steaks have been made super easy with Umai dry age bags. Super easy way to make dry aged steaks at home. Makes a lot of waste. But if you're serious about steaks something everyone should try at least once.

And I think some of the American wagyu crosses are the best steaks money can buy. A5 is too rich. Some of the American crosses between Prime and A5 are the pinnacle of beef imo.

Beef grass fed and finished on grain provides the best bang for your buck and taste buds. Imo the problem with grass fed only beef is that the meat is typically leaner, the roasts are smaller, and the taste isn't as fatty. However, the earthy taste of the grass fed is great too. The combo of both is perfection.

I decided a few years ago that beef from cows will probably be less and less of a thing as I age so I decided to really respect the animal and dig into what made a great steak a great steak and to kind of go all in on them. I think we all should OR we should give them up completely. These are animals that give their lives for us, and do damage to our one and only earth. We should understand that and give them the best life we can while living and make the best use of their bodies when dead. For me that is being cooked in my kitchen or on my grill.

So it could be a boon to the…

So it could be a boon to the Texas programs where there's no state taxes? Just like you see all of the big Twitch streamers, Podcasters (Rogan), etc... leaving their states and moving to Texas. If your job is to sit in your home or local studio and make content worth 10's of thousands of dollars a month why not live in the place with the least taxes.

This is not my intended take…

This is not my intended take, it has nothing to do with JH or anything to do with the athletic program and more a "problem" with the university in today's world. The reason only graduate level kids, or young kids will transfer is because they can pursue a masters, or they don't have enough credits in their major for the transfer to be lost time for them.

It has nothing to do with JH. It has everything to do that if I'm a junior and 3/4 or more of the way through my major at almost any other D1 school in the country my credits won't transfer to my major at the University of Michigan. Because of that Michigan will rarely, if ever, bring in upperclassmen that intend to go pro in something other than football, even if they could be successful in the winged helmet. In the world of an open transfer portal, this standard will always hold the Michigan football program back.

Is it even a debate, or just…

Is it even a debate, or just an accepted fact, that if/as the transfer portal becomes more of a "thing" in college football that it will only ever continue to hurt the Michigan football program more than it will ever help? Graduates, 3 year NFL kids, and maybe some true freshmen or transferring into sophomores are the only options? Hard to envision a time where the amount of kids coming into the program via transfer portal compares evenly to the number of kids exiting the program via the transfer portal.

Yeah he just got a 200…

Yeah he just got a 200 million dollar bonus while Blizzard laid off 200 people at the same time - so fuck this guy and his 4 million dollar donation. (I'm not linking Google it, 100's of articles about it)

What's most ironic regarding that is the layoffs were mostly all to the e-sports division of Blizzard.

The expectations would just…

The expectations would just to field a competent team in all aspects.

An offense that has some sort of identity.

A defense that doesn't break down 10/10 times to simple concepts taught in HS football.

And for God sakes a team with desire, enthusiasm, and a collective team that gives it their all on every play.

OSU, Bama, Clemson are professional football teams under the guise of an educational institution - Michigan will never be this. The best Michigan can do is somewhere in that of the Notre Dame levels - make the playoffs once or twice a decade and be reminded that they are an educational institution and not a football program as they get stomped out.

So national championships? Be real, not happening. How about just a competent program year after year? That's the best Michigan is going to do.

I hope someone hires him,…

I hope someone hires him, but let's be real no one is. He was shoo'd out of the NFL and he's sucked ever since. Maybe some NFL GM/owner has been a coma for the last 5 years? Don't be silly, the misery stays in AA.

The AD won't fire him because of lack of balls, and the rest of the admin doesn't seem to care. But if the extension really is to 2026, they better have made the contract have some good exit clauses because he won't make it to 2024 and they'll still be paying him and someone else in 2026.

LOL! thank you. I thought…

LOL! thank you. I thought for sure, if this topic made it to this board someone would post this. I was almost disappointed then I got to the very last post on the thread and there it was. Thanks Mgoblog besides the depressed cynicism of the owner and board, the intrusive ads, and the technology still stuck in 2005, you never let me down.

It's just wild to me the…

It's just wild to me the idiocy of how this has been politicized so hard. People are just so fucking ridiculous about it. Personally, I hate wearing a mask. I run hot anyway, wearing a mask, especially in the summer makes me even hotter to the point I'm sweating. I was running a charity community garden that I started pre-pandemic (indoor starts) and around June was told that I had to wear a mask and gloves or I could no longer donate the food I grew because of Covid risks. I ended up outsourcing a lot of the work to a friend because of the requirements which bummed me out.

But guess what, you'll never hear me bitch about wearing the mask, you know why? Because I don't want this shit, and I don't want anyone else to get this shit either. This isn't the Flu. We've all had the flu once. It's not even the deaths, because people die from the Flu too. It's the long term lingering shit!

Was just reading an article from Tool/Puscifier lead singer Maynard James Keenan who contracted Covid-19 in February and he stated he's still struggling with it today 8 months later. He has day long cough bouts. He has what is equivalent to rhuematoid arthritis now as a lingering side effect. How long will this last? Will it ever go away? We don't know how or why this shit happens from it, but let's just giving up is not the answer.

If we all just threw on a mask, took some precautions, we'd be over this.

It just makes me feel disgusted that as a country, and a species we are so selfish we cannot just do this simple thing. It's insane it's an argument, that it's politicized and demonized.

See, I legitimately just…

See, I legitimately just thought "how will the Lions blow this one?" I have absolutely 0 expectations of the Lions winning anything, ever.

If you take the Lions as some form of comedy vs a sports competition it's actually much more enjoyable. Don't expect to root for them to win, just expect to laugh at the new and exciting ways they find to lose and it will bring back joy to your Lions games. Wish I was joking, but I changed myself to this mindset since the 0-16 season and it's made watching Lions games bearable again. I'm dead serious.

If I could convince myself to change this mindset for OSU games I'd enjoy them again. Sadly, slowly but surely...

On your Last Chance U point…

On your Last Chance U point...  as a society we need to get back to saying, "this is ok!". Not everyone should have to go to school. Higher education should be that... There should be no shame in not receiving a higher education, and those that do get one shouldn't hold it in higher regards to those that do not have it.

Master and Apprentice are lost in this country, perhaps this world, and I would argue the ability to be master of anything that provides to society, and supports oneself should be held in higher regard than about 50% of all of the undergrad degrees we give away these days to those with the money to pay for them. Lets face it, a ton of kids leave school with an "education" and a degree but almost no direction to take it in and piles upon piles of debt and are left behind because of it.

A line from a Rush song always stood out to me on this discussion and I have literally 0 idea if it's even intended to be relevant, but its my interpretation "we need someone to talk to, and someone to sleep the floors" society needs both and that's OK. But we only emphasize the money and with it the high paying job, there's no one left that wants to sweep the floors because we demonized it.

Well since there's no…

Well since there's no schedule... I assume they'll definitely play MSU and OSU. I can't see a world where they lose to Sparty or beat the Buckeyes so 1-1.

Assuming they stick mostly divisional - Rutgers, Maryland, Indiana - Ws. PSU loss.

4-2

Could definitely see the likes of W, Minnesota, Iowa, and even Purdue and Illinois giving them a run for their money out of the west. Northwestern always plays tough but finds ways to come up short. And Nebraska... Well fuck Frost.

I'd predict 4-4 assuming they mostly stay in the east.

Gotta be real... Missing an experienced RB, highest ranked DT (I'm pretty sure) on the team with already poor DT play/depth, best OL, best CB, (arguably but I love Bell) best WR, and starting a new QB.

So uhh yeah, idk how to feel about that one boys. But not good.

Fake News bruh.

You can't…

Fake News bruh.

You can't take what he literally said so literally.

You're a moron.

The left…

You're a moron.

The left have basically been the ones saying, "sure wish this administration would fucking do something". This is honestly the most dishonest post I've seen on here in a while. It's been the right the entire time "let me throw an angry fit about wearing a mask!! Go Trump!" Don't try to fool yourselves, you and your party were on the wrong side on this, and that will come to light.

If you want to make the case that, "Covid doesn't impact the young, college aged student" or some other nonsense, at least that has some form of argument. It's wrong, and stupid, as plenty of younger folks are hitting the extreme end of this - ICUs, surgeries, amputations. You'd still be wrong but you'd at least have some ground to stand on. Your argument is completely ridiculous. The stance from this admin has been "do nothing this will magically go away". Now that's it's not going away the argument is "you would have never done anything anyway!" GTFO you're a moron.

This is a very real, and…

This is a very real, and very good question. And yeah... it's tough. I'm fortunate to have one child, an 8 year old daughter that has always been on a maturity and discipline level a bit ahead of her age.

But for us it took a very serious conversation and a very unfortunate explanation that she has to work harder than her mommy and daddy did when we were here age. And an understanding that, that isn't fair, but unfortunately that's the way the world is now. We explained to her, that one day, her mommy and I are going to look to her, and all of her 8 y/o peers across this country to run the place while her mommy and I retire. She thought that was so funny at first, but then realized we were serious. We explained that one day, she'll be the mommy, she'll be 35 (our age) and we'll be much older and won't have the impact on society anymore like she and her peers will. And that even though these are extraordinary times, her education will be the only thing that will allow her 8 y/o peers to run the place. It's not fair that we're asking these kids to work harder, and do more with less, but it's just the new normal. Like it or not, it's what THEY have to do.

Ofc, it was slightly brought down a bit, but honestly not much more. It was a serious conversation for such a young lady. Tossed in with a heavy dose of love, and some of it tough love - as in, Mommy and Daddy are here to help you, and we always will, but you'll have to put in your part more than you ever have.

Point is, my answer is, be honest with your children. Explain it to them. They can comprehend it, if we're willing (as parents) to be open about it.

My bigger worry is the anxiety and/or depression this group of children will face going forward. I hope we as a society will be prepared, but I have my doubts. I already see it in my nephew, he's 7, he's terrified of people right now. I am worried about what this will mean going forward for these generation of youngsters.

I'm not sure if it's still…

I'm not sure if it's still around, but Tree City used to be the best. Best flower, best wax, etc...

I may be late to the party…

I may be late to the party here, but yes! We got one around this time last year and use it daily. I even have a gas stove and cast iron like other dude said :)

However, we got the Breville full blown convection oven boy the 399.99 one. You will be able to find it cheaper around black Friday 329-350 or so.

But we literally use it daily. Not just to fry foods but reheating, baking, broiling, toasting, etc... We threw our toaster out. And on these hot summer days, not heating up the oven and consequently the kitchen/floor of our house, really is a huge benefit.

That device, a sous vide, gas stove, cast iron, and a good chef knife are like 90% of what I need in my kitchen.

I'm not gonna lie this makes…

I'm not gonna lie this makes me feel sad, and old... I saw so many Pistons games there. Have only seen one at PizzArena and it just isn't the same. Oh well. RIP mighty Palace.
