James Franklin fired his agent and is now repped by super agent Jimmy Sexton

Mentioned under the 3rd bullet point in this article.

There's also a very long thread about it on PSU's 247 site with the following post:

"In 2017 [Sexton] represented all but 3 SEC head coaches. In the '17 cycle there were 6 HC openings in the SEC and he filled 5 of them."

Franklin is clearly looking to get paid. Maybe he twists PSU's arm into a major raise, but this also seems like a clear precursor to Franklin seriously shopping himself around this offseason with the goal of jumping ship.

Having lived here for over a decade, I submit this:

His name is probably Giles James Sexton II, but because his family was too simple to be able to discern between Giles I and Giles II, he was always called Jimmy.  It is overly common for southern folk to go by their middle name or by a name that is completely separate than their given name.

If we're talking Texas, where I went to high school, I submit this: Coy Raymond Lawson Jr., son of Coy Raymond "Ray" Lawson Sr., and grandson of Coyle Tyree Lawson, who was married to Alma Dee, nee Dunk, Lawson, daughter of Winton Wallace Dunk the 3rd, whose father, Shree Dunk, fell  at the Battle of the Alamo. (I pulled all these names from my list of Facebook friends)

The Franklin hype for every top tier job is astonishing.  This is a guy who is 8-9 in his last 17 Big 10 games.  About to be 8-10.

He has a losing record against both Michigan and MSU.  He's beaten OSU only once.  If not for that blocked FG five years ago, he'd be out of a job.

Bo Harbaugh

He's beaten and played OSU close in his tenure.

OSU unfortunately always peaks agains UM, and we shit the bed.

If Harbaugh had pulled off the 2016 robbery in CBUS and another upset of OSU during his tenure, we probably wouldn't be hearing many complaints.

A couple of the flukish losses against MSU also contribute to the "Harbaugh sucks!" narrative, but it's really about OSU.

Seems like this would have been a tremendous move in any other 48 hour span other than just after “lost as 24 point favorites in an OT game the nation is laughing at.”
