Works…

... allegedly ...

Works for me, too.

11/08/2018 - 2:34pm I noticed that and thought, …

I noticed that and thought, "Nebraska, apparently, can be their own worst enemy."

10/25/2018 - 5:20pm Concern about a future…

Concern about future professional contracts will mean the end of Couzens Hall flag football as we've known it, just ask Nick Bosa's dad.

10/22/2018 - 5:57pm I'd take the win over Ohio…

I'd take the win over Ohio State.

There's too much subjectivity involved in the CFP selection process to get too invested in it at this point.

But a win over Ohio State and the likely B1G East title that implies?  Yeah, that sounds good.

Pikemen!

I once lost a bomber to a fortified pikeman in his own capital.

Granted, he was as powerful as a pikeman could be, but how could he down my bomber?

There's a limit on the length of the pike, right?

07/24/2018 - 3:51pm Comcast dropped BTN on the…

Comcast dropped BTN on the West Coast about 3 mos ago.

I haven't really missed BTN, but with August rolling around, it's time to cut the cord.

Bye, bye Comcast.

Best wishes to Jalen and Molly!

Agree. Is the game even real?  Or are a couple of redditors making a bunch of college football fans behave like hamsters in a cage?

06/01/2018 - 6:55pm Vada Murray!

Welbourne and Murray were a fantastic safety tandem for three straight seasons.

06/01/2018 - 3:12pm 1969 _was_ a long time ago ...

but Jim Mandich must be mentioned in any discussion of great Michigan tight ends.

06/01/2018 - 2:52pm The soldiers' lament

Have you been told to "Hurry up" and subsequently "Wait"?

05/27/2018 - 4:51pm Thank you,

for your service and for coming here to share your thoughts.

05/23/2018 - 7:31pm Nice work, WD.

You provided season background, underscoring the importance of winning the tournament.

Your post was timely and well crafted.

Beat the Boilermakers!

CDs:

   Unpeeled

   Tell Me I'm Pretty

Saw them at Lollapalooza last August & I'm still finding something new in their music.

04/18/2018 - 7:01pm Probably.

Of course, those pipelines will now be freed up to pump poop to 'bama.

04/11/2018 - 6:18pm Haas was a senior,

so we're talking NBA signage and not Big Ten signage.  Or am I missing something?

04/03/2018 - 3:45pm Nov 25, 2014

MAAR played 2 min, missed his only shot (from 2), but had an assist.

03/31/2018 - 9:47pm Yes

Mo's Mom & Dad were both in the Alamodome for the game.

03/21/2018 - 4:13pm Hear, hear!

I'd like to see some Jordan Poole JumpShotMan logo gear!

03/20/2018 - 2:28pm The Chevy commercials, ugh.

They get more obnoxious with each viewing.

03/20/2018 - 2:25pm I see Gene Keady,

with some Bryan Cranston added.

03/20/2018 - 11:45am Hey!

Don't shoot the messenger. /s

03/20/2018 - 11:25am "I took too many bullets."

This is a poor metaphor to employ in an era of mass shootings and a nationwide debate on gun violence.

03/20/2018 - 11:21am It will only take

a recruit or two to express concern about Izzo's tenure and the coach will get a lucrative extension.

03/08/2018 - 6:26pm Bill Gates went to Harvard ...

... but he didn't stay long enough to graduate.

03/08/2018 - 6:07pm Agree

The 2018 Finals are in St Paul, Minn, but the regionals are in Mass, Conn, (eastern) Penna and So Dak.  The midwest regional should be in the midwest. Any one of CHI, PIT or CBUS would be excellent choice.

03/08/2018 - 6:05pm fwiw

Penn State is listed as the host for the "Midwest Regional" in Allentown, PA.

03/08/2018 - 5:50pm re: lighting that fire

Do that outdoors, the burning gift cards produce fumes which you'll want to avoid breathing. /s

03/08/2018 - 5:47pm Amazon is looking for a 2nd HQ.

Perhaps they'll take a look at the New Jersey site; that would be ironic.

03/06/2018 - 2:44pm Thanks for posting this!

Historians love primary sources.

03/03/2018 - 5:41pm Colloid

According to wikipedia: "In chemistry, a colloid is a mixture in which one substance of microscopically dispersed insoluble particles is suspended throughout another substance."

I'm thinking the self-proclaimed biggest sparty meant to type "colossal".

02/26/2018 - 11:58am Last UM game with radio only?

As I recall, the most recent UM football game for which radio was my only choice was against WMU in Ann Arbor on Sept 22, 2001.  Following the terrorist hijackings of Sept 11 and subsequent naitionwide cancellation of flights, all college football games on the weekend of Sept 15/16 had been cancelled.  By Sept 22, any coverage of the Maize & Blue was a welcome link to normalcy, and I was grateful for it.

02/22/2018 - 2:57pm Particularly

when the 1 is more recent than any of the 4.

02/22/2018 - 2:52pm 1867, not 1775,

for those who choose a Canadian frame of reference.

I agree about Canadian money, put notable Canadians and Canadian landmarks on the money.  Heck, put Vince Coleman's profile on the obverse and the Halifax Explosion memorial on the reverse. ( For those who have not read John U Bacon's _The Great Halifax Explosion_, Vince Coleman was the telegraph operator who sacrificed his own life to save an train from arriving at the scene of the fire which led to the explosion.)

02/13/2018 - 3:42pm Priority?

Games are scheduled for the TV viewing audience, not for fans in the stadium.  No longer bound to Saturdays, some leagues play on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays.  And the prime time Saturday games in Eastern and Central time zones aren't stadium-fan friendly;  who wants to battle traffic and drive any distance when games end around midnight.

It's not surprising that attendance is dropping (everywhere but big ten).

02/09/2018 - 10:52pm Perhaps,

their broad generalizations are the simplest explanation (in their minds).

But you already knew that, right?

02/03/2018 - 9:27pm I just hope ...

... Tyson doesn't visit during the hash bash.

01/31/2018 - 2:45pm Thanks, Brian.

This post answers several questions rattling around in my head over the past week, and provides constructive comparison / criticism on the FOIA process at UM and MSU.

Thank-you so much for caring enough about our University to make it the focus of your prodigious talents.

01/31/2018 - 1:53pm Born into it.

My maternal grandparents graduated from UM in 1922 & 1924.

My uncle graduated from UM Law.

I always thought I was the third generation, but family research has uncovered a great-grand uncle who earned his law degree in the 1880s, so my wife and I are actually the fourth generation.

My first UM memory is watching the 1965 Rose Bowl on television.

01/29/2018 - 12:38pm True.

Three service academies, followed by (4) U Va, (5) William & Mary, (6) Berkeley.

Very little expanatory text, more like clickbait than useful information.

01/23/2018 - 5:37pm News about ND football

is never OT as long as the all-time winning percentage is up for grabs.

01/23/2018 - 5:30pm +1

for using "Bears" and "defense" in a single sentence about events in this millenium.

12/12/2017 - 1:18pm I don't see it;

I'm using chrome on OS X El Capitan.

12/05/2017 - 5:57pm Loyalty works both ways ...

More than one Oregon fan told me when Chip Kelly expressed interest in the Florida and UCLA jobs that "Oregon should dump Taggart and hire Chip back."

12/05/2017 - 5:53pm "third team in three years"

This is always the case when someone leaves a job after one year and takes another job.

12/05/2017 - 5:48pm "poor damn Oregon"?

You can call athletics at the University of Oregon many things, but "poor" is not one of them.  Not with Phil Knight in their house.

Oregon fans are not believing that Chip Kelly returned to coaching less than two weeks before the Ducks' Head Coach position opened up.  They're tearing out their hair (feathers?).

11/29/2017 - 12:44pm Ditto,

I told my kids they could go anywhere they wanted, but Mom and Dad would not write checks to OSU, MSU or ND.  One went to Michigan and the other to Columbia.

11/19/2017 - 8:02pm Yeah,

... and so was my response.

IIRC, Bo Pelini's abrasiveness had alienated many people and Mike Riley was seen as an easy-going alternative who would help the program heal.  Riley had engineered several upsets of better-financed, higher-talented teams, including cross state rival U of Oregon.  Personally, I was interested to see how Riley would do in a program with a history of success.  With the record at 4-7 heading into a final home game against Iowa, Riley appears to be toast.

11/19/2017 - 4:31pm Nebraska? Really?

I expect the Frost to be on the cornhusks by this time next week.

11/14/2017 - 2:58pm It was Tiller,

after Roy Roundtree flipped to UM on signing day.
