07/19/2018 - 11:12pm After watching the Amazon…

After watching the Amazon series, I am

(a) Amazed at how uninspiring of a leader BP is in the huddle

(b) Convinced that, even with that most glaring of weaknesses, he was O'Korn's superior by more, and earlier, than I had thought before. Poor O'Korn kept trying to talk himself and others into hoping that he was good the entire season long.

07/19/2018 - 11:07pm Even more frustrating to me…

Even more frustrating to me was the fact that if the refs get the call right on the DPJ TD, Peters never gets that concussion, and we could be 11-1 heading into a B1G championship game.

Just imagine. That call. Barrett call on 4th down previous year.

I'm not much for always blaming the refs. But, it's amazing how different the current narrative could be with two objective calls corrected...

07/19/2018 - 9:38am That and, if you read his…

That and, if you read his book, he focuses on pliability because ridgity puts you at higher risk of injury.

See? I'm not out of shape. I'm just ahead of my time!

Child: I'm hungry

Me: Nice to meet you, hungry. Have you met my son? He looks just like you!

This works with sleepy, tired, etc.

07/14/2018 - 8:46pm We're still being considered…

We're still being considered. We have quintuple as many CBs for him today as we did a week ago, and we were still being considered then.

07/14/2018 - 8:45pm TBH, it's just a position…

TBH, it's just a position mismatch deal. Several of his recruits would have made great wide receivers, but he keeps sticking them in at guard instead WTH.

Fire Beliein!

07/13/2018 - 8:40pm Add to that the game…

Add to that the game intelligence and the leadership... he's not just a freak. He's putting the MAN in Michigan Man right now

07/13/2018 - 6:40pm Winning cures all. A couple…

Winning cures all. A couple freak things go differently (or go exactly the same and get called properly), and this isn't even a conversation.

But they didn't.

Even if it weren't a matter of being that close, I see the program addressing all of the problems in a meaningful way.

Winning is the only true remedy, so we'll keep having this conversation until the remedy comes.

The place where I think we need to put our foot down is that we have absolutely every reason to expect that the remedy is coming, and perhaps in a very big way.

I expect to see it this year, and I'm unwilling to deny myself the joy of that optimism just because of the things that went wrong the last couple years.

I look forward to when we no longer have this conversation.

07/09/2018 - 11:11am…

He does say that some of the guys he's talking to are already committed, and that he thinks the result will be that they end up shaking things up.

Really, I don't think we need to be listening to people with crystal balls. Leadership belongs more to those with titanium balls.

07/02/2018 - 1:12am OSU die-hards don't…

OSU die-hards don't generally gush about how great Harbaugh is. If we had a recruit from Ann Arbor who all of a sudden was gushing about Urban, what might you be thinking?

07/02/2018 - 1:09am By waiting a year, they just…

By waiting a year, they just sign Kahwhi as a FA. Keep everybody. Good contracts, young guys with another year to develop. They could win by year 2 of the contract. They will win in year 3.

06/26/2018 - 12:09pm MSU/OSU/SEC negative…

MSU/OSU/SEC negative recruiting UMich:

Have you seen their academic rankings? Across the board, way too high in just about every program. If you go there, class is going to be WORK.

What you want is the easiest path possible to the NFL. The only place you'll have to work hard is in the weight room and on the field.

06/23/2018 - 5:15pm Top SEC #90; eight B1G…

Top SEC #90; eight B1G schools in top 46. Kind of odd that Purdue doesn't even make the list--maybe not great for more than engineering? It's apparently pretty not great to be a Hoosier or a Hawkeye either. And apparently asking for Nebraska's rank is the logistical equivalent of calling for a moment of silence.

Good stuff!

He was 3rd last year and played the biggest snaps of the season...

06/03/2018 - 6:30pm We have played more to our

We have played more to our potential in these games than almost any other. But we've been screwed a couple times. Jim might have some weaknesses, but among them will never be lack of emphasis on this or any other game

05/31/2018 - 1:47am I predict only 11 more of this thread before the season begins

05/17/2018 - 2:02am No love for Milton?

I don't know why, but I feel compelled to root for the kid

05/10/2018 - 10:20pm This applies to playing styles as well

Many are setting this as if Jordan's style would be the same now as in the 90s. I have no doubt that if playing now, Jordan would both be the greatest at whatever devastates current defenses, and would be developing better defense against whatever great offenses arose. There is a level of competitiveness and genius involved with MJ that just isn't available to LBJ. LBJ can do stuff... He just doesn't have all the requisite components to belong in the GOAT conversation... I wish y'all could have heard Charles Barkley talking about this last night...

05/10/2018 - 10:09pm He would be demonstrably superior to LJ

There are no rules or system to which he would not adapt. And he would be so far inside LeBron's head, LBJ would choke on his own medulla oblongata in every situation of any importance. Ask Charles Barkley. I guarantee that he understands the ins and outs of this better than any of us posting.

05/10/2018 - 9:59pm Specious argument... How'd he get that good? By playing with MJ

every day for years... There were twenty or thirty other players who would have developed into hall of famers in the same position. Far from having that kind of day to day effect on people, LeBron actually makes the all stars around him less great.

05/07/2018 - 7:03pm The next one

Always the next one

(I feel your post, man)

05/03/2018 - 11:37pm So thankful to read this. Rejoicing with you!

Actually, you can officially be an alum if you have one semester in a degree-granting program. You can even have a uniqname...…

"Former students who have completed at least one semester of a degree-granting program are eligible for alumni status. Former students who did not receive this status automatically can request it by contacting Gift & Records Administration."

04/23/2018 - 7:57pm Already predicting a terrible offense for 2021?

I'm not sure I could be that pessimistic if I tried. 2019 recruiting looks good Never you mind the fact that it's ridiculous to "base" your expectations off one and one-third recruiting cycles...

04/14/2018 - 4:15pm Was the All or Nothing Distraction Post a Distraction?

Well-spoken isn't exactly the same as intelligent.

Dialect is as much a function of cultural origin as mental ability.

In this case, the presumed dialect is actually more Scottish than African.

03/06/2018 - 8:23pm Weights? Really? That has to

Weights? Really? That has to be a team inside-joke.

I also like the extra time for JB to look at film of us so he can add the right wrinkles  and plan the plausible adjustments for how we're playing on any given day.

1. More time is a positive, unless you don't use it well. But,
2. I trust JB to use it well. So,
3. I think that more time is a positive for us.

02/23/2018 - 12:36pm A few more thoughts (since it double-posted)

Warriner is definitely an upgrade.

This also implies that recruits (and grad-transfer recruits) may have been apprised in advance.

With McElwain also in tow, the offensive coaching staff looks much MUCH better than a month ago

02/23/2018 - 12:34pm With the smoke about him

With the smoke about him going to Vandy the last couple of days, it seems like it was planned and just waiting on a couple other dominos to fall.

It makes all the hand-wringing during the last couple months look pretty silly.

02/19/2018 - 9:16pm Mc+W>Fisch
From a coaching

From a coaching standpoint, I think we just had nothing that could compensate for the loss of Jedd Fisch.

McElwain, with the benefit of an extra week's dedicated research/analysis from Warinner, close that gap or better

Besides that, I don't think coach's loyalty is unlimited. Drev and Pep each have their replacement already on staff. If we can motivate them to save us the money of buying them out by performing better, great. If not, replacing them will come with less upheaval.

I think coach Harbaugh has done a great job. Enos is a prick, but he may have inadvertantly delivered us a superior hire in McElwain.
