Florida is probably better for recruiting, but dang San Diego is an awesome place to visit. I much prefer it over Florida. Oh well...

up from someone on the Holiday Bowl Committee. As long as we win. Florida still a good pipeline for us.
November 29th, 2017 at 2:08 PM ^
Much rather play Arizona or Stanford outwest. Both interesting matchups.
November 29th, 2017 at 12:08 PM ^
Someone's gotta photoshop Vincent Smith's face on this:
November 29th, 2017 at 2:12 PM ^
His hit on Vince Smith was one of the most overrated ever. Taylor Lewan stuffed Clowney all day then Kwiatkowski missed the block so Smith gets blown up by a guy 1 foot taller and 100lbs heavier. BFD
November 29th, 2017 at 6:22 PM ^
We should invite Vincent Smith to the game, lay an unholy ass beating on South Carolina, and then give him the game ball.
Just a small token of our appreciation for all that he's done for Michigan and for putting up with all that Clowney nonsense that was not any of his fault.

Seems like a good matchup for us. I'm not convinced that anyone in the sec east is good besides Georgia. They beat Florida 28-20 and struggled with Wofford 31-10.
November 29th, 2017 at 5:52 AM ^
I didn't see the game but looking at the box score its not like the Gamecocks piled on late. Wofford is 10-2 with their only losses coming to Ole Miss and South Carolina; while they aren't Division I, they still are good. I look at SC schedule and I don't see anything that tells me they are middle of the road: Losses to Georgia and Clemson, #24 NCSt, and away at Texas A&M. I'm not sure what you mean by 'good matchup' but an automatic in the win column is not what I see.
November 29th, 2017 at 11:54 AM ^
I do if Okorn isn't QB ing.
November 29th, 2017 at 9:11 AM ^
This year The Gamecocks managed to beat two programs with winning records. So they have that going for them.
November 28th, 2017 at 10:44 PM ^
ugh lame. Would much prefer the holiday bowl against a pac 12 team just for a change up. Bowl matchups are getting stale.
November 28th, 2017 at 10:46 PM ^
Give me an SEC team all day. Optics are far better for perception and recruiting purposes.
November 28th, 2017 at 10:56 PM ^
Agree. Also if we beat South Carolina 30-13 or something, that will play far better with recruits in the offseason than if we lost to Stanford.

November 29th, 2017 at 5:32 AM ^
I can name one. Jake Bentley is their QB. My initial reaction is that this matchup bores me. I do live 50 minutes from Tampa so at least there is that. Even though I live here and can go to the game, I really would have preferred one of the matchups out in San Diego.
November 29th, 2017 at 8:51 AM ^
I agree. There is nothing exciting about this matchup. A co-worker of mine is a big Gamecocks fan, so I got to hear about their games each week. Bentley is a pretty decent young QB, but they don't have many play makers.
November 29th, 2017 at 10:21 AM ^
Florida to be honest is pretty boring. Now San Diego, what a cool city to visit!
November 29th, 2017 at 12:56 PM ^
I live 5 miles from RayJay. I'm flying back from CHI on NYD, and would have to switch to an earlier flight to catch the game. I know its not a great matchup, and I'd prefer not to get up to fly from ORD at 7 am departure, but I'd regret a missing a (cheap) opportunity to cheer on our boys. hmm...leaning towards going.
November 29th, 2017 at 6:25 PM ^
Meh. Everybody knows that South Carolina is not a "real" SEC team.
November 28th, 2017 at 11:08 PM ^
I just want a team I feel like Michigan can beat. The thought of having to play Stanford or Arizona was not a pleasant one. Last thing this season needed is a dumb bowl loss to Harbaugh's old team or Michigan's old coach.

November 29th, 2017 at 12:01 PM ^
Only if Okorn was at QB. We have been playing all year with no fuckin QB. We beat osu if Peters plays and maybe Wisconsin if he does not get hurt. We will see the line on the sc game.
November 29th, 2017 at 7:44 AM ^
Unless its the playoff or maybe a NY6 bowl, no one cares about bowl wins. We're past the point of the season where signature wins matter. At this point, just get a win so the team isn't going into the offseason on a 3-game losing streak.

November 29th, 2017 at 6:48 AM ^
Stanford would be tough, but what's so difficult about Arizona, other than the emotional factor of going up against Rich?
November 29th, 2017 at 7:54 AM ^
Khalil Tate is a freak at QB. Like a bigger, slightly better passing version of Denard. Dude is averaging 10ypc. As good as Michigan's defense is, he would cause problems.
Although per usual Rich Rod's defense is hot ass.
November 29th, 2017 at 10:00 AM ^
Is there cold ass? How many varieties ass are there? While I wouldn't consider myself an ass-man, I do enjoy it, however I'm far from an expert on the matter.
