Brett McMurphy: Michigan-South Carolina in Outback

Submitted by jerseyblue on

Brett McMurphy says he's been told Michigan is a lock to play in the Outback Bowl and that he expects them to play South Carolina.

We should invite Vincent Smith to the game, lay an unholy ass beating on South Carolina, and then give him the game ball.

Just a small token of our appreciation for all that he's done for Michigan and for putting up with all that Clowney nonsense that was not any of his fault.

Someone who actually watched the game. Clowney was in on two plays all day. One was the Smith hit and both were when he was unblocked. Lewan owned him all day and in fact made blocking Clowney look easy.

I didn't see the game but looking at the box score its not like the Gamecocks piled on late. Wofford is 10-2 with their only losses coming to Ole Miss and South Carolina; while they aren't Division I, they still are good. I look at SC schedule and I don't see anything that tells me they are middle of the road: Losses to Georgia and Clemson, #24 NCSt, and away at Texas A&M. I'm not sure what you mean by 'good matchup' but an automatic in the win column is not what I see.

I think Washington would be a heavy favorite over Michigan right now and Stanford would also be a tough draw. No doubt beating one of those teams would be a splash win--but a loss is equally or even more likely to happen.

Only if Okorn was at QB. We have been playing all year with no fuckin QB. We beat osu if Peters plays and maybe Wisconsin if he does not get hurt. We will see the line on the sc game.

If that’s the case why stop at SC let’s see if we can get in the motor city bowl and play a MAC squad! Cheap wins do nothing for us. Playba tough squad to know where you are and what may need to be changed going into next year, let alone the boost in perception it will give us nationally on the recruiting trail.
