09/21/2018 - 8:29pm Gary just can't catch a…

Gary just can't catch a break.  Last year it was Hurst, Winovich, and Bush stealing Gary's tackles, this year it's Winovich, Mone, and Kemp.  Something, something, something.....

09/21/2018 - 2:13pm I think 25 years ago when…

I think 25 years ago when PSU first joined the conference, when Michigan was having its way with OSU, there was some rivalry going on.  I think this was especially so with the fans; PSU fans lamenting having to join the BT thus making national championship runs impossible due to the soft conference schedule.  BT fans, and especially Michigan fans wanted nothing more than to disabuse the Ninny Lions of that notion.

Bosch had his own demons to fight, Harbaugh probably did him a favor by not reinstating him.

Ice cold Tanqueray with an olive.

Derrick Green was a coaching failure?

With a predicted high in the mid-60s for Saturday, I don't think heat cramps will be much of an issue.

Should have been rooting for Carlson, their FG kicker.

09/16/2018 - 12:47pm Disagree, the INT was on…

Disagree, the INT was on Patterson.  This is the second time with a TE at the goal line that he has chosen to throw the ball short allowing the defender to PBU or intercept.  The first time was against ND when he threw it chest high to Gentry.  Patterson needs to fully appreciate that the TEs tower over the DBs such that he can throw it higher and deeper and still make the completion.  Patterson throws that pass higher and deeper the worst thing that happens is an incomplete pass.

09/16/2018 - 11:25am I'd wager the "conditioning"…

I'd wager the "conditioning" part of that equation is more about climatizing than conditioning, or more precisely, conditioning while climatizing.  It's probably quite difficult to emulate upper 80s and 90s temps with high humidity if your local climate is a bit more benign.  Here in the DFW area we've been experiencing just those conditions for the last six weeks or so.  In July it was 105+ with a bit lower humidity...it's own type of hell.

09/13/2018 - 7:54pm The trick to doing a brisket…

The trick to doing a brisket is not to fall for the idea you have to keep it on the smoker for 12-16 hours.  You smoke the brisket for about 3-4 hours and then put it in a roasting pan, cover it, and put it in your oven at the desired temp for the desired remaining time.  Just no reason to smoke it more than four hours because the smoke will have penetrated the meat as much as it is going to in those first few hours.

09/13/2018 - 7:49pm Speaking of which, I'll be…

Speaking of which, I'll be smoking a brisket tomorrow night, on my Weber.

I'd just like to see DPJ never again muff a punt return.

I don't GAF what they run, I just want to see it run to perfection.

Why would Don Canham have had bands at Michigan Stadium while he was still the head track coach and five years before becoming the athletic director?

09/11/2018 - 8:58pm Or you're Wisconsin and…

Or you're Wisconsin and settle for 2* and 3* players and coach them up to be 4* and 5* equivalents.

09/11/2018 - 8:56pm There isn’t a determining…

There isn’t a determining factor as of current that Rogers is looking for, but one thing is absolutely key to him: academics. He’s confident that, wherever he goes, he’ll be a factor on the football field. So, he’s adamant about finding a place that allows him to pursue paths outside of football.

So, he'll ultimately be signing with Alabama?

09/11/2018 - 3:41pm Assuming that your…

Assuming that your assumption is correct, why do you suppose they aren't in the starting line up now so that they might learn their trade against inferior competition?  It would seem to me that if you're programming Mayfield or Hudson, or both, to be your starting tackles for the B1G season, you might want to get them ready against the likes of WMU and SMU.  Or do you consider a series of downs against WMU and another against SMU, plus repetitive tape watching of those series, experience enough for the likes of Wiscy, PSU, MSU, and OSU?

09/11/2018 - 3:12pm A paragraph from an ESPN…

A paragraph from an ESPN article four years ago.

Gardner was replaced by Shane Morris late in the third quarter -- with Michigan up 49-7 -- after he was 13 of 14 for 173 yards with three TDs and no turnovers in his first game under offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier.

Do you remember how the rest of the season played out after Gardner, and Morris, had their confidence bolstered in the Appy State game?

09/10/2018 - 10:28pm They are horrible, they are…

They are horrible, they are death sentence horrible.  The line is currently Michigan -35.  That should be for the 1st half with McCaffrey and friends making it another 35 in the second half.

09/08/2018 - 8:46pm More precisely, following…

More precisely, following the 1998 Orange Bowl he started blubbering and crying about how his coach, Tom Osborne, was owed a retirement gift and that the voters should gift Nebraska the national championship.  It didn't help that Peyton Manning and his Tennessee team didn't show up for the game.

Back when Wisconsin struggled to 10-3 and 13-1 records.

So the correct answer for the QB position it to look for transfer possibilities?

09/07/2018 - 3:27pm Zach Gentry was is first QB…

Zach Gentry was his first QB pick, Harbaugh flipped him from Texas just weeks after being named Michigan's HC.

As for how long, or not, Michigan's starting linemen have been in the Harbaugh system, all but one is in at least their third year, the two starting tackles are in their fourth and fifth season at Michigan.  And let's not forget that Harbaugh told Swenson thanks but no thanks, then infamously didn't replace him.  Speaking of which, in that same class of 2016 Michigan did land the nation's #5 Offensive Tackle prospect...of course he was immediately moved to OG.

09/06/2018 - 10:34pm They do have the meats.

They do have the meats.

09/06/2018 - 10:30pm The line is only as strong…

The line is only as strong as its weakest link, or lineman in this case.  This time last year Nolan Ulizio was the face of the horrible OL, this year it is John Runyan.

09/05/2018 - 7:33pm 11-2 and beating OSU bought…

11-2 and beating OSU bought him a fair measure of good will, something Harbaugh can still only dream about.

09/05/2018 - 7:31pm I remember that he led the…

I remember that he led the Tigers to the ACC Championship in his third year.  I see that in year four Clemson went 11-2.  Are you suggesting that Michigan will win the B1G this year?

09/05/2018 - 7:22pm I don't think David Shaw is…

I don't think David Shaw is available to round out Harbaugh's staff.

09/05/2018 - 7:19pm Can't be paying top dollar…

Can't be paying top dollar for Central Michigan type results.  Yes, even our savior, Saint James Joseph Harbaugh needs to be held accountable.

09/03/2018 - 9:53pm And he's responsible for one…

And he's responsible for one position group.  How much time should we give him?

09/03/2018 - 9:37pm Back to blaming Hoke for…

Back to blaming Hoke for year four Harbaugh problems?

09/03/2018 - 9:18pm Can't blame him, the Ann…

Can't blame him, the Ann Arbor water supply is toxic to offensive linemen.  It's the only explanation I can fathom for a decade of horrible OL play at Michigan.

09/03/2018 - 9:47am The evidence suggests that…

The evidence suggests that Harbaugh is none too interested in developing QBs.  On the contrary, it now seems that he's more interested in wholesale changes to the offense to accommodate the latest ready made QB.

09/02/2018 - 11:00pm Michigan smoked Appy State…

Michigan smoked Appy State before laying an egg to Notre Dame, but then came back and waylaid Miam (NTM) before crapping out the rest of the season.  Smoking WMU will be far less indicative of Michigan's season going forward than the hot steaming pile of 1 SEP 2018.

09/02/2018 - 10:11pm There are probably dozens of…

There are probably dozens of coaches that UM could pay $7M to roll out hot garbage 12 times a year.

09/02/2018 - 2:05pm Shaw as HC for the Cardinal…

Shaw as HC for the Cardinal has been even better, going 3-1 in PAC 12 Championship games.  At this point Harbaugh may be willing to give up his left nut just to reach one B1G Championship game.

09/02/2018 - 12:24pm This is year four of playing…

This is year four of playing out with absolutely no improvement on offense.  2015 against Utah, while Michigan lost, everyone saw that there were some positives to build upon.  And indeed they did.  Maybe my bar is set too high, but yesterday I saw nothing positive upon which to build to give us even a glimmer of hope.

09/02/2018 - 8:55am The offense needs an…

The offense needs an overhaul?  It had an overhaul, there was nothing about the 2018 version of the offense that remotely resembled the offensives from 2015-2017.

09/02/2018 - 8:53am Two thoughts.
1.) The…

Two thoughts.
1.) The offensive coaching staff shake up coupled with an entirely new and different offensive philosophy and scheme just to accommodate a middling QB transfer reeked of desperation. And it showed.
2.) Evidently the Defense was using the crap Michigan offense as the measuring stick against which they would judge their abilities.

09/02/2018 - 8:51am Harbaugh jumped the shark…

Harbaugh jumped the shark. He had an offensive philosophy with which he was comfortable and around which the team was built. He tossed all of that in the wood chipper because he thought Shea Patterson was Colin Kaepernich redux? All he needed was to keep the same offense with the supposedly more capable Patterson and build from there. But no, burn it down they did, and instead of a phoenix rising from the ashes, they were left with a smoking crater.

09/01/2018 - 10:36pm What a horrible, horrible…

What a horrible, horrible offense.

09/01/2018 - 9:57pm The entire offensive…

The entire offensive philosophy and scheme is an adjustment from last year.  This is what you get when you do a wholesale change from what you were doing for the last three years.

09/01/2018 - 9:25pm Michigan now has the…

Michigan now has the distinct advantage.  Not only do they get the ball to start the 2nd half, but since they played so crappity during the 1st half, they gave ND nothing to which they can adjust for the 2nd half.

09/01/2018 - 9:16pm Seriously?  That's your take…

Seriously?  That's your take away after seeing two steaming piles of shit, one each for the offense and defense?

09/01/2018 - 8:56pm Turns out a Harbaugh team…

Turns out a Harbaugh team can be embarrassed in South Bend just as surely as a Hoke team.
