I'd say suspend the player for whichever is greater, 60 minutes of game time, to be carried over until the next season if necessary, or as long as the injured targeted player is out of football.  IOW, You end another player's collegiate career, yours has effectively ended as well.

The cheap shots took place after the zebras allowed IU's kicking of the ball to go unpunished.  The officials gave IU an inch, they took a mile.

I guarantee you Harbaugh did not have the offense stifle itself at the 20 yd line just to see how Moody would respond.

11/17/2018 - 10:59pm We can never know what never…

We can never know what never happened.  The fact is Michigan again struggled on offense on the opponent side of the field and Moody turned out to be a weapon.  You so easily dismiss the accomplishments of Moody, I doubt the guys wearing the pads do, but grant others a hypothetical level of performance they demonstrably did not have today.

Patterson doesn't do it.

They're saying he's been doing it since at least week one.

Edit: Just checked the highlights from the The Game of 2017, he was doing it when he came in for Barrett.

He'll try, but he hasn't faced the pressure of a Michigan defense, Haskins will revert to his norm.

11/16/2018 - 8:17pm Not just any Oreo, chocolate…

Not just any Oreo, chocolate creme filled Oreos.  Wouldn't want it to be a total give away.

Anyway, my apologies, one should never assume too much on the part of the reader.  I think that's a movie quote, but I digress.  Haskins nearly always leans back when receiving the snap if it is a pass play and leans forward when receiving the snap on run and RPO plays.

Indeed, just ask Johnny Manziel.

11/16/2018 - 11:02am So he could go to the league…

So he could go to the league, get paid, have the same attitude, sit games because he might get hurt, and you'd be good with that, right?

11/16/2018 - 1:08am That scrambling throw to…

That scrambling throw to Martin in the EZ was worthy of the Grbac-Howard hook up, though of course it was Rutger, not ND.  On the other hand Grbac would never have made that scramble from the left hash mark to the right sideline.

Truth be told, I think Patterson needs a full season of proving that he has the pocket presence and patience to compete in the NFL.  No /s.  I think it quite possible that he could move from a 2nd or 3rd round project to a top 10 franchise pick.  Not that I'd second guess him should he take the plunge, and I'm sure M would be in quite capable hands should he leave.  That said, the selfish me would really like to see Michigan have a top flight QB return for another season for the first time in over a decade.

Patterson returning for 2019 would be like having Henson return for 2001.  OMG, I just remembered, Patterson was drafted by the Tex Rangers and has signed a contract.

11/15/2018 - 11:23pm I would whole heartedly…

I would whole heartedly endorse your position if I thought for even one nanosecond that it would influence the outcome of that game, or any other for that matter.

11/15/2018 - 10:04pm Michigan has 11 running…

Michigan has 11 running backs, losing just one, while Tennessee has just 4.  Ole Miss, with whom he also has a scheduled visit, has 8 running backs.  With Charbonnet also committed to Michigan, and I believe as an early enrollee, Gray probably didn't like his chances of seeing the field any time soon.

11/15/2018 - 9:59pm It sucks but I am not…

It sucks but I am not surprised.  As a four star I'm sure he'd like to be the face of the future, and let's face it, though Michigan doesn't have a lot of developed depth at RB, it has a lot of bodies that can be developed, not to mention Zach Charbonnet, who could well see the field 31 Aug 2019 against Middle TN.

In fact there is a White Castle less than 10 miles away from the Purdue Campus.

11/14/2018 - 2:15pm Yes, this is true.  When it…

Yes, this is true.  When it comes to the SEC and ACC all wins are equitable.  Scratch that, a blow out win over UMass or Citadel will carry more weight than a two score win over Indiana, Wisconsin, MSU, or Iowa.

11/14/2018 - 1:48pm I think that is correct…

I think that is correct because Saban thought the best way to keep the SEC strength of schedule equitable with the other P5 conferences, less the ACC, was to add an additional conference game.  Saban lost the battle but won the war as the CFP committee doesn't care who you beat so long as you win.  IOW, a win over Citadel or Wofford counts at least as much as a win over an FBS P5 team and far outweights a loss to a P5 team.*

*Exception, a humiliating shutout loss suffered by one SEC by another SEC team is a net positive.

11/14/2018 - 12:11am QBR is not adjusted for the…

QBR is not adjusted for the opponent with Total QBR being adjusted for the opponents.  You will note that Patterson has one of the largest gains from QBR to Adj QBR while others stay relatively similar and some even have Adj QBRs lower than their Raw QBR.

11/14/2018 - 12:08am The ND and Nebraska games…

The ND and Nebraska games really hurt his QBR.  Unfortunately it took the OL four games before they became totally Warinnerized, with the Nebraska game being the last time Patterson was held to negative rushing yards.

11/13/2018 - 11:47pm I believe what the committee…

I believe what the committee uses with regard to the SEC and to a lessor extent the ACC, is referred to as circular logic.

He has never added anything to the conversation save one thing, he perpetuates the mythology that college football starts and ends with the SEC.

By the same token scheduling an FCS program should be treated as an open date.

11/13/2018 - 7:24pm Galloway in the Michigan…

Galloway in the Michigan corner...glad we're not having a lightning storm.  Evidently SoS doesn't matter for P5 teams and ND.  So what they're saying is that Michigan needs to unilaterally cancel next year's game with ND and see if Citadel has an open date that coincides with one of Michigan's open dates.

11/13/2018 - 5:03pm Unless we're doing the time…

Unless we're doing the time warp we should probably be rooting for Syracuse and Stanford.
