Maybe Harbaugh will do us a solid and let us keep Minter. Obviously Minter has a say in that, but he definitely seemed to want to come back. Saying “Let’s run it back again next year” after the championship game.

I don’t get the interest in Orr. He’s only been a coach *in any capacity* for 3 years and none of them were in college. I, too, want Michigan to continue the Ravens-style defense that has been so successful for them, but the answer isn’t to give the keys to the defense to a guy with so little experience.

So, coming off of a N.C. and losing "the Guy" sucks. It implies things won't be the same. The best thing for the program is to put out the energy that things will be the same, particularly with the culture and winning tradition. It's very hard to convince people of that unless much of the same staff stays intact. Fortuitous circumstances put a young coach in a position to show the world he was up to the task, at one of the blue-bloods of college football. Virtually unheard of. The fact that he's always done recruiting the O Line before other position groups get started speaks volumes. He's passed the test with all A's and hiring Moore was the best thing we could do to send the message that things wont change much.

My hope is Jim doesn't take much of the staff with him. I think that Hart should be promoted to OC. He's been coaching for longer than most of the assistants on staff. I think Mintor was great on defense and Clink just resonates with these kids and they love playing for him. Either one would make a great DC and both have earned it. I hope we can keep them both, but I want the guy who's been calling the plays, that win games. Lastly, the strength and conditioning coach Herbert seems to have been a game changer. I wouldn't want to lose him either.  Go Blue!!!!

The general post-championship discourse across all sites has finally made me accept that this is a fundamental aspect of the Michigan fan base regardless of on-field success. We are a unique bunch, love it or hate it. Even if it’s annoying at times, I wouldn’t trade this community for any other. That might be the Friday night alcohol speaking though :)
