03/22/2019 - 11:16pm Again, I don't see us…

Again, I don't see us playing warp speed.

I think it's more of a "check with me" type system. Just because we don't huddle doesn't mean we're going warp speed.

Neither Penn State nor Ohio State plays that fast...they don't huddle.

Fact: We're not going to huddle.
Fiction: We're going to go Texas Tech warp speed.

Fact: We're going to run spread.
Fiction: We're going to completely abandon the FB position.

Fact: Gattis is calling the offense.
Fiction: Harbaugh is truly calling the plays.

Fact: This is going to be awesome.
Fiction: This is going to suck.

03/22/2019 - 8:54pm Warp speed though?

He said…

Warp speed though?

He said we're going no huddle. That doesn't mean we're going to snap the ball fast.

For example, Ohio State doesn't play particularly fast in terms of pace. But they are speed in space once the ball is in play. They're also a pro spread that runs the ball and takes big shots.

When I hear Gattis, I don't think "what play clock" like Syracuse or Texas Tech. In my eyes, speed in space is getting playmakers the ball in space while running a no huddle offense.

No huddle doesn't mean we're going to be snapping the ball with 35 seconds on the play clock. It means we're not going to huddle.

Some people seem to think we're going to turn into Syracuse or Texas Tech.

03/22/2019 - 8:47am WRONG. He threw 16 TDs to 4…

WRONG. He threw 16 TDs to 4 INTs in his final season, in 2016.

Check to see when the last time Josh Johnson had played football before last year before you bring that weak ass argument. I'll answer it for you, it was 2012!

Josh Johnson. Mark Sanchez. Brian Hoyer. Geno Smith. Nathan Peterman. Brandon Weeden. RGIII. Matt Barkley. Brock Osweiler. EJ Manuel. Trevor Knight. David Fales.

You need me to keep going or you get the point?

*Gil...and hopefully going to #8 makes him faster.

03/22/2019 - 12:05am THANK you.

THANK you.

03/22/2019 - 12:02am Disagree.

03/21/2019 - 11:54pm A part of me thought Falls…

A part of me thought Falls was a punk for going for that.

But every day these guys are taught to play to the final whistle. I tip my hat to the young man...get every effing second out of this opportunity your abilities have given you. Play it until the end.

Well done.

03/21/2019 - 11:46pm Not yet, but start putting…

Not yet, but start putting some backups in for sure.

I hate when we empty too early and lose all of the momentum.

Take Simpson, Iggy and Matthews out.

Leave Poole and Livers in.

03/21/2019 - 11:44pm Matthews, please come back.

Matthews, please come back.

You're not going to get drafted and you're a REALLY solid college player who will be on his way to TWO degrees at the University of Michigan.

03/21/2019 - 11:29pm I do like the quick replay…

I do like the quick replay though...shouldn't have been a replay, but at least it was quick.

Goes with my thinking that every replay should be 30 seconds or stand as called. Go to the monitor, you get 30 seconds and the screen goes black and you have to make a decision.

03/21/2019 - 11:28pm Why are we reviewing this?

Why are we reviewing this?

03/21/2019 - 11:27pm Livers double dribbled there.

Livers double dribbled there.

03/21/2019 - 11:26pm Please replace Brooks with…

Please replace Brooks with DeJulius.

03/21/2019 - 11:25pm JESUS CHRIST!!!

You just…

You just compared a basketball coach, getting paid MILLIONS of dollars...and his unpaid employees. To a parent/child relationship?

Nah, that ain't it. That ain't even CLOSE to it.

03/21/2019 - 11:23pm Every recruit should see…

Every recruit should see this.

If you like it, the Bob Knight guys...great. But I have a feeling the 2019 top rated players aren't feeling this type of "teaching."

For all of you Twitter freaks...go ahead and make a .gif and anytime we go head to head with MSU...just drop it in the mentions and leave it at that.

03/21/2019 - 11:20pm If I cared enough, I'd…

If I cared enough, I'd screen cap that 10 second call and show the world that Matthews had the ball as the clock hit 0. It was WELL over the line at 21.

03/19/2019 - 4:02pm How does the wife put up…

How does the wife put up with it?

Here you go, Coach. Fixed.

03/19/2019 - 3:53pm Logged in to say the same…

Logged in to say the same thing...his teeth looks like he uses movie theater butter for mouth wash.

That picture is so gross. But that content, that content is a-maize-ing.

03/19/2019 - 12:22am Ace Deuce or The Deuce. A2…

Ace Deuce or The Deuce. A2. The Mitten. Motor City. Dirty South. Fayettenam. ATL. The Ville. StarkVegas. H-Town. Chocolate City. The 6. 2-6. Buzz City. Every city in the country has a nickname...Jacksonville just says theirs slow.

03/19/2019 - 12:14am I did check the box score,…

I did check the box score, dick.

You can't look at the entire season as I didn't say he's been playing starters minutes all year.

Look at the last 5 games or even just in the tournament. He was playing in the mid-20s. That's starter level minutes...or pretty damn close. No one said he played as much as Poole.

Learn to comprehend before posting again. And quit being so emotional.

03/18/2019 - 2:22pm Has to be PT...which makes…

Has to be PT...which makes sense - especially if Luigi is finally healthy.

I'd love to see him at UCF or USF.

03/18/2019 - 2:18pm About as surprising as the…

About as surprising as the Brandon Peters transfer will be after he graduates this spring or summer, but absolutely wish him the best!

The kid can play, he just happens to play the deepest position Michigan has had since the final days of Hoke. No shame, got great coaching, contributed in other ways and now he can go showcase his skills.

Go do your thing, Reuban!

03/17/2019 - 7:48pm Livers plays starter's…

Livers plays starter's minutes...this really doesn't matter.

Am I missing something, did Livers start the first half and not the second half? Because we played pretty damn well in the first half.

Stop finding someone to blame. We got beat, it sucks, MSU owned us THIS year....we're still a #2 and we can still win a national championship.

Livers starting or not starting is a terrible complaint/question.

03/17/2019 - 7:46pm ACC bias...coming from a fan…

ACC bias...coming from a fan of the conference that got more teams than any other conference in the country.

Terrible take, even worse thread.

03/17/2019 - 7:45pm I hate that Nevada is the #7…

I hate that Nevada is the #7 on our side, but I can't be too picky I suppose. Would've preferred Louisville.

There are a lot of really good teams in that mid-seeing range. Starting with Houston, but Cincinnati, Utah St., Washington, Wofford, Iowa St. are all dangerous teams.

Also, the rules say that Michigan can't be the #2 in place of MSU. We've played Minnesota 3 times, we can't meet in the 2nd round by rule. I suppose the answer is simply to move Minnesota, but I'm not sure that people know it couldn't be a 1 for 1 swap.

03/17/2019 - 7:39pm This is the time of year…

This is the time of year where people just say shit because there are a million other hot takes.

UVA was without it's best offensive player last year. Guy and Jerome can ball and now they have a freshman starting who's one of the more dynamic players they've had in some time.

Not saying they can't lose, they still have droughts - just like Michigan. But they're capable and SHOULD be in the Final Four this year. They finally have some offense to pair with their defense.

In some ways, Michigan is like UVA-lite.

03/17/2019 - 9:43am You really think the Jags…

You really think the Jags started that? Lol

Duuuuuvaaaaal. It's just what people from there say.

No different than people from Ann Arbor saying "ACE DUECE!"

Damn near every city or region has some nickname or saying that refers to the city/region.

03/15/2019 - 7:42pm Those shoes, lol.

Tom looks…

Those shoes, lol.

Tom looks like he drove to the combine in a Ford Windstar.

03/15/2019 - 7:39pm I saw something today that…

I saw something today that had Bush (#10) going before Gary (#12 or #13). First time I'd seen Devin ahead, but I think it'll be closer than we would've thought 2 months ago.

03/15/2019 - 7:37pm PUT. IN. O'KORN!!!

03/15/2019 - 1:28pm Your translation is 100%…

Your translation is 100% correct. I also don't expect to see him as a single back anymore - maybe on occasion in goalline only.

Michigan won't use the FB as much so I expect Mason to play some MLB or Noah Furbush's old role on defense while still coming in as a FB when we need one.

I wonder if Ben VanSumeren also tries out another position to provide some depth in addition to FB duties. He could probably move to TE and play an Aaron Shea/Khalid Hill type of hybrid role.

Both should be huge on special teams (Mason already is).

03/15/2019 - 12:15am That last one is an awesome…

That last one is an awesome idea, it would be fun/interesting, schools would make money and best of all...we wouldn't have Rutgers.

03/15/2019 - 12:13am If I could do it all again,…

If I could do it all again, I would've closed the tab and stopped drinking with Delany before he extended an invite to Rutgers.

Should've added Syracuse. If not, then Pitt. If not, then UConn. If not, then Kansas. If not, then Iowa State. If not, then University of Chicago. If not, then Cass Tech. If not, then allow the MAC Champion in each sport to move to the B1G for a year before going back and getting replaced by the MAC champion the following year.

03/11/2019 - 2:32pm But how about the red LED…

But how about the red LED light strip on the backboard as the buzzer sounds? That's detail.

03/11/2019 - 2:16pm Where is that UVA/Michigan…

Where is that UVA/Michigan fan that wanted to argue with me over the value of student-athletes...

03/08/2019 - 2:54pm 1. Who said Toledo would…

1. Who said Toledo would make more money than Michigan? That has nothing to do with anything.

2A. No, what you do as a pro has no bearing on how much money you've already helped put in the pockets of your institution, bowl exec, TV networks, etc. in the PAST. That makes no sense whatsoever. Zion Williamson has played a total of 0 minutes in the NBA. He's made a lot of people a lot of money. If he plays 0 minutes in the NBA...those people and entities still made that money off of his time at Duke.

2b. There's a reason where every day on ESPN there's a silly debate about whether Zion should risk playing (in college) again. Same with Nick Bosa (who will likely still be a top 3 pick). There's also a reason that the ACC execs were all scrambling 2 weeks ago when it looked like Zion may not play in the ACC Tournament, thus devaluing the tournament and "costing" them a shit ton of money.

3. That is not that point of college for a lot of people. And if 98% of student-athletes aren't going pro...then playing that sport is not increasing their earning power in their career. What an idiotic response. It only increases your earning power if you happen to play professionally in that sport.

I've heard a lot of arguments against allowing student-athletes to earn off of their likeness or receive a piece of the pie...these might be the worst two of the bunch.

03/08/2019 - 11:58am Bull fucking shit.

Bull fucking shit.

QB: Devin Gardner
RB: Vincent Smith
RB: De'Veon Smith
WR: Jeremy Gallon
WR: Roy Roundtree

...I could go on and on making a fucking all-star team of recent Michigan players who gave 4+ years to Michigan, were highly visible student-athletes, made MILLIONS for Michigan and didn't see a dime from the NFL.

I could also make an all-star team of guys who make millions/billion for their schools or TV networks and don't come close to that level of income once they do reach the pros. Your sterotypical "college guy" - re: Zavier Simpson or even guys like Jay Williams, Greg Oden, or Adam Morrison who were legends at their respective schools, but never panned out at the pro level for whatever reason.

This isn't a "well if those guys who make all the money wait, they'll make it on the back end in the pros" types of thing. Devin Gardner was the face of that Michigan team that year, that ND game, that OSU game (ouch)...he's doing local guest spots right now and never did anything when it came to the NFL.

Even Denard who played in the NFL, he may be the most profitable player in Michigan HISTORY - including Charles Woodson.

Besides, what does it matter what you do as a pro? That's then and this is now.

03/03/2019 - 1:29pm Gary, Winovich and Bush are…

Gary, Winovich and Bush are DESTROYING the combine today.

03/02/2019 - 11:14am Yea, she's bad AF.

Yea, she's bad AF.

03/02/2019 - 11:12am People are happy to see him…

People are happy to see him go...teasing him about untimely drops. Basically pushing him out the door. Now people say "see, you should've stayed."

The message boards and twitter world are such strange places.

If nothing else, you should want him to run fast and get drafted as high as possible so guys like Theo Johnson see that we're putting TEs into the league.

03/01/2019 - 6:33pm Would love to see Brooks…

Would love to see Brooks have a legit 5 mpg and get Matthews and Poole down to 30.

And Johns get a legit 3 to take from Teske.

It's still really just a 6 man rotation, but those 4 guys stealing some minutes in key moments is huge. Together you're talking about 7+7+5+3...that's 22 minutes which is a solid "7th man."

Even 11 and 11 would combine for a solid "7th" and "8th" man.

03/01/2019 - 6:26pm If he enjoys college, he…

If he enjoys college, he should come back.

He's not going to change his draft stock either way. He's a G-League level player, which is nothing to sneeze at...

Even if he has some crazy year next year where he blew up, he'd still be a late 2nd/FA due to his age. Same as this year. I mean, I suppose if he blew up on a national level next year he could be an early to mid 2nd rounder, but that doesn't really mean anything.

If you love it and want to continue your education and potentially win a national championship...come back.

If you hate school or if you're ready for a full-time job...go pro.

I'd love to see him come back, we'd be true title contenders next year if he came back. With the depth that we lack this year.

03/01/2019 - 6:21pm - DE.  Agreed.

- DT. …

- DE.  Agreed.

- DT.  Agreed.

- LB.  Ross will replace Bush, this one is obvious. Question is can McGrone challenge for a starting spot over Gil. Either way, at minimum he seems to be inline to be the #3 LB like Ross was last year.

- CB.  Again, this one seems obvious. Hill came back. So It's Hill and Ambry Thomas. There should be a good battle for Brandon Watson's snaps. Vincent Gray seems to be next up there.

- S.  Duh - Dax Hill runs a 4.3 and he may move to VIPER after Hudson's gone (a mistake IMO), but he's a S next year.

- OL.  You're not going to get the answer to this question in the spring, but I highly doubt it. Year 2 with Warriner should pay off big, especially for the young OL like Mayfield, Hongiford, Filiaga and Stueber.

- QB.  Peters is gone, he's just practicing to improve and stay in shape until he gets his McCaffrey is your backup. McNamara and Milton battle for #3, but I doubt we'll ever know who wins that battle until the time comes to put one of them in a game...and even then, they'll probably split reps (McNamara can play in 4 games next year and keep his redshirt).

- RB.  Let's hope so.  Has Haskins officially moved back? Charbonnet's injury is a huge blow.

- WR.  THIS is what we need to watch for, will we actually use these guys like we should. This is the only thing I'm concerned with this summer. Move DPJ to the slot and keep him on the field with Black and Collins at almost ALL times.

- TE.  Don't see this changing other than the fact that the offense will be changing. We have known commodities in McKeon and Eubanks. Muhammed and Schoonmaker are there to provide depth. Problem is. #SpeedInSpace doesn't mean 2-3 TE sets. IMO, we'll see the first two guys rotate in and out and play 3 WR sets the majority of the time. It's not like Eubanks is or will be an amazing blocker...even when we do get to short yardage, I could see someone like Ryan Hayes or whoever ends up being the 3rd OT come in as the 2nd TE.

03/01/2019 - 12:13am Agreed. He starts getting…

Agreed. He starts getting all pink, then red, then purple.

In all seriousness, Beilein NEVER plays a big 30 minutes a game and lately he's been forced to because the dropoff without Teske is massive. The more Castleton can provide legit minutes as a backup, the better. Keeping Teske to 28mpg is ideal.

03/01/2019 - 12:10am He doesn't have to be in…

He doesn't have to be in this offense as long as 2 other shooters are on the floor.

Matthews may not be able to shoot, but Iggy and Livers can...which will stretch the defense. Teske can pick and pop.

You're still playing 4 out, 1 in whether Matthews is playing the 2, 3, or 4...

That's what we're saying, unless you're Teske or Simpson, you're 100% interchangeable. The offense is 4 guys around 1...and you really don't need Simpson (when specifically referring to how the offense works) other than for ball handling, but if you're just running the offense, his position isn't doing anything the other 3 guys on the outside aren't doing. When plays break down, you need him to get the ball and run a quick play versus the actual offense.

03/01/2019 - 12:05am C: Teske - 30
