Franz Wagner Hat Sich Nach Michigan Verpflichtet!
Legen Sie Ihre Englisch-Deutsch-Übersetzer weg—I mean put away your English to German translators, because our Teutonic Savior is coming…at least I think that's what this means?
Despite the head coach who recruited him leaving for the Cavs after check-in began on Wagner's cross-Atlantic visit, Michigan gains the equivalent of a lottery pick at a position of major need, and a massive upgrade in shooting on a team that has a lot of everything but. This takes Juwan Howard's first-year expectations to "Proooobably make the tournament with a defensive team that has no spacing" to "Possible a Sweet16-seed with a defensive team that has no spacing when Wagner's off the court."
If you'll excuse my German: Scheiße ja!!!!
Frist!
You are either saying “first” in English in which case I ask why are you the way that you are?
Or you’re saying “frist” in German which google translate tells me means “deadline”, in which case I am just confused
But why? What is the point of typing first?
I would say that it's a subtle nod to the old haloscan days, but I don't think Mr. Frist was around in those days.
That just makes it worse...
LETS FUCKIN' GOOO!!!
#ShotsInSpace
Now lawyer up and sign LaMelo
Good lord, why?
I'd rather we drop a bomb on the Crisler Center than go after anything from the Ball family.
Hail yes!
Welcome Franz!
This iS FUCKing AWESOME!!!!!!!
Welcome aboard, Big Man!!!
Howard can't recruit say the sparties. Guess their attempt at hiding their worries failed.
Uh, about Coach Howard recruiting...Franz knows coach Beilein moved on to the Cavs, right? Ah, we'll cross that bridge when he gets here, welcome Franz!
Go Blue!
How will this impact our recruitment of Minke Violatik?
I honestly think it was more Moe and Saddi Washington recruiting him to Michigan than Howard, so lets hold our horses there for now
Agree. Juwan needed to close the deal and kudos to him for doing so. However, this was a stacked deck in our favor out of the gate. Let's see how he attracts top recruits from here on out.
First recruit and a top recruit at that. Nice. Welcome
YAAASSS!!!
Good start. Let's build on it.
Mo' Wagner!
he should head to campus shortly and enroll as a 2019 right?
howard closed on a big one - they need more capable shooters and wagner should really help in that regard.
lots of younger / less experienced players with potential to elevate and grow their games - its gonna be an interesting year
He is first going to participate in the under 18 European Championships which goes from end of July to August 4th. We should expect him on campus soon after that.
Even better. The Spain trip last year helped the team get big wins early in the season. Hes going to enter the season ahead of the curve
I guess so. But he's already been playing good competition. If anything I would think under 18 would be a step down.
Interesting that hed choose to be an exploited collegiate athlete playing without compensation instead of taking the pro contract from his hometown team playing in a top 5 Euro league.
U of M better chance at NBA, NBA = mo money! Haters gonna hate
Well it probably doesn't hurt that his brother can help with expenses. Most recruits don't have that luxury.
Red Cedar boards down or something?
Damn you got me, the last 8 years here have just been a long con and Im using the commitment of a basketball player in early July to finally show my true colors.
HELL YEA! Huge get!!! Going to retire the Wagner jerseys someday!
We will hang those jerseys-- Mo, Franz, and Beata. And one more BTT to watch her busting with pride at her son's accomplishments.
Uh, sorry. Bursting with pride. Fuck Freud.
Can we just drop the creepy Frau Wagner comments, permanently? You know, maybe she reads this blog.
Huge get for Howard!
Franz looks like a kid that might be able to step in right away, whereas Bajema will be good, but maybe not right off the cuff...
Definitely a major get as Michigan looked like it would have trouble scoring with the departures of Poole and Iggy.
Really thrilled to hear of Franz's commitment!
OH FUCK YEAH!!!! What great news!!
No one who speaks German could be an evil man.
But seriously, ja ja ja ja ja!!! Toll!! Das ist Spitze!!
YASSS! Go blue!
Herzlich Wilkommen Franz! Wir freuen uns über deine Entscheidung. Viel Glück!.
hahaha. Ooo wee this will be fun.
Big time baby. LFG!!!!
HAIL JAWOHL!!! Wilkommen, Franz!!!
Time for a posKnall, Ja?
KNALL MICH!
A translation of his post:
"Thanks @albaberlin !!!
For all the time and energy that my coaches invested in my over all these years.
For the trust and the chance which you gave to me to prove myself on the professional team and to develop.
I am incredibly proud to be able to say that this club will always be a part of me"
really optimistic about juwan as a recruiter, especially after matt D from EM mentioned that recruits very much prefer the more direct and engaged recruiting style than what was apparently an unpopular approach under beilein. early returns are looking VERY good. here's hoping to some fab five 2.0 mojo.
I don’t get people’s recruiting fears. Coach B wasn’t a good recruiter. He had huge success and never managed to consistently bring in top level guys.
Juwan is a young’ish black man, with extensive nba experience, who was a star college player. If he’s even bit personable he’s going to kill recruiting.
If the team is decent this year, next year’s recruiting class will surprise people.
No mas minke NCAA violatik!
I wish the staffs of both BB and FB would stop acting like they know more about what is going on than the fan base does.
While I am very excited about Franz coming to Michigan and how our basketball prospects just got much better for next season, I am also very depressed that I don't remember anything from my four semesters of German when I was a student at Michigan.
As they say: We can has nice things!
Whoa Nellie!!!
It will be interesting to see how he adapts to the college game. This could be a difference-maker for this coming season.
