UM-friendly bar locations across the US (and elsewhere)
A couple weeks ago, I put together a google map with all of the Michigan bars I'm aware of (and also everything from the spreadsheet that bouje has been maintaining.) The map is here:
I've posted it in a thread or two already, but I think Brian's going to pin this one - hopefully it might prevent the "where's the Michigan bar in Pittsburgh/Fresno/Topeka/wherever" threads that pop up every week.
If your favorite gameday hangout isn't on here, put it in the thread and let me know; I'll try to keep the map up to date.

What's the atmosphere/turnout at Bailey's?
It's no good for a man to work in cages.

I have been to Bailey's - good sized Michigan crowd but they host a number of other schools as well. It can be smokey if that matters to you.
Shakey Jake
Cool. Thanks. I might check it out in the coming weeks. Smoke won't matter for a couple of hours...

Seattle is no longer the Rocksport, it is now Buckley in Belltown http://www.buckleysseattle.com/btmainpage.htm Good spot, has been packed every game this year.
Thanks, although Buckley's is already on there. Is Rocksport not doing Michigan football at all anymore?
oops didnt zoom in enough only saw rocksport. I havent been there since we switched locations but i heard we changed locations due to construction at Rocksport, so i dont believe they hold official U of M viewing...
buckleys is a better location, right downtown, much better turnouts, plus they have 5 dollar pitchers for M fans for all early games...
Dexter's Pup in Dexter, MI
Willie Heston - 72 touchdowns; 4 National titles; 43-0-1 record; All-American; Law Degree
Folks in SLC have been going to Green Street at Trolley Square. Address: 602 East 500 South, Salt Lake City
It's the location for quite a few Big Ten groups this year.
Thanks!
Is there such a thing as a UM friendly bar in East Lansing? I haven't found one yet, but I'd like to. I'm usually left to a small muted TV in the corner while the other 40 TVs at Reno's show Sparty.
In Toronto, it's the DETROIT EATERY @ 389 Danforth for hard-core M fans. http://www.thestar.com/News/GTA/article/438286
Exit the east/west subway line @ Chester and cross to the south side of Danforth. Un-missable.
M fans here for a getaway weekend tend to gather @ Jack Astor's, corner of University & Front. The women can shop the Eaton Center while the guys watch the game and drink - everybody's happy.
All In Worldwide
It might be clearer to list Oakcrest Tavern as being in Milwaukee, just because I'm not sure everyone will know that Shorewood is right outside MKE.
Also, it's my understanding that Oakcrest Tavern prefers not to do night games, and so for Iowa (and possibly future night games), the alumni club went to Fanatics in the 3rd Ward (http://theofficialfanatics.com/main_page.html).
Is there a regular UM gathering at Fanatics, or was this specially arranged for the Iowa game?
AFAIK it's special for night games only. If we end up playing more night games this year (Wisky?) then I will let you know.

Dear Wolverine fans,
Just want to remind you to order your Rich Rod Hope Shirt before they are all sold out. There are only about 300 printed and have been received rave reviews not just here in New York but across the country. Show your support for this young team coming down the home stretch against the rest of the Big Ten.
The shirts are printed on American Apparel tees, available in Navy and Grey, sizes S - XL (sizes are mens, but women don't worry - the small fits all females). I would love the support of all my fellow Wolverine alumni and friends. They also make great gifts for the family members and feel free to forward along to others. The shirts can be purchased
at WWW.DWUAPPAREL.COM.

I'll be in Charleston tomorrow during PSU and there's no way that map can be right. The bar listed there is the unofficial bar for WVU fans to watch games. Something tells me that's not Michigan friendly?
I'm not sure, that came off of Bouje's spreadsheet... maybe somebody got it confused with Mad River in Chicago, which is a UM bar?
The Low Country Wolverine Club does in fact meet at Mad River. From what I have been told, it has been a West Virginia spot in the past but no longer.
Then back on the list it goes.
Hey Chicago fans: Want to watch the game at a bar with other Michigan fans but don’t want to stand in line to get in? Want to be able to sit down? Want a great beer list?
Non-sanctioned UM v. Penn State game-watching party tomorrow at Chicago Ale House 2200 W. Lawrence www.chicagoalehouse.com
See you there and GO BLUE!
Hey there, we put together a pretty good group from week to week at Duffy's in North Palm Beach, FL which is located off of US-1 and PGA Boulevard. North Palm is just north of West Palm Beach. Hope to see some new Michigan friendly faces! The address is 11588 US Highway #1, North Palm Beach, FL, 33408
and you can find more information at www.duffysmvp.com. They have great drink and food specials and a great staff too!
Thank you thank you thank you!
There ought to be a good group, with all of the Palm Beach/Broward County kids playing for U of M these days (Odoms, D-Rob, Gibbons, okay there's like fifty of them).
I'll try to make it sometime soon.
I haven't been here, but just received an email about this place from the UM Alumni Club of NYC.
The Ainsworth (26th between 6th and & 7th Aves) 212-741-0646
If anyone goes, let us know how it is.

I see someone listed a bar in Lake Buena Vista for central Florida but there's an actual U of M Club of Central Florida. http://centralflorida.umclubs.com/
This year they've been gathering to watch games at
Smokey Bones
3400 E. Colonial Dr.
Orlando, FL 32803
407-894-1511
And there's no UM club in Key West, but I've found a place called Jack Flats on Duval St which carries the Big Ten Network
509 Duval St
Key West, FL 33040-6552
(305) 294-7955
The Black Bear Saloon, 166 Mamaroneck Ave, White Plains.
ALL Michigan football games, and this year, some big hoops nights, as well.

There's a Fox and Hound in Albuquerque that includes space for UM fans/alums. On a day like this coming Saturday, you usually have to walk through a bunch of OSU fans in another room, which can be a not so great experience. But at least a crew gets together to watch games here - 4301 The Lane @ 25 NE (this is really at Jefferson and The Lane, about three blocks NW of the I-25/Jefferson exit) Albuquerque, NM 87109 - 505-344-9430.
(GO) Blue Light, Bayside (to a far lesser extent), and Underdogs. There is also this place in the lower Haight, across from Toronado, that flies a Michigan flag. I asked the bartender about it last time I was in there, and she said some U-M fans asked that it be put up to balance out the ND flag, and because a lot of them watch games there; I have never been there to double check. Kezar will usually have a smattering of Michigan fans (more of a Redwings bar). The problem with this town is that, unless it's a special event (such as this year's ND game), it is almost always a mixed crowd.
