Jeff Withey spent several hours with us at Gibley's on Saturday, said a lot of nice things about the Wolverines. GO BLUE! |
| 6 weeks 3 days ago | Gibney's Pub |
I was in Atlanta for the weekend but had to fly back this morning for work. The Michigan bar is Gibney's Pub which is on Peachtree Center Ave directly behind the Mariott Marquis. It's bright red, very hard to miss. Get yourself there and stay put. The festivities are at Olympic Park. $7 beers and all kinds of food options - and there are some excellent food trucks parked in a semi-circle across the street from the park entrance where the t-shirt vendors are. I had a grilled lamb hoagie at one of the trucks that was outstanding. GO BLUE! |

There is a great quote from Ali along the lines of: "In order to win you need both Will & Skill. But Will is more important than Skill - Will beats Skill every time." Beat Syracuse - GO BLUE! |
| 11 weeks 6 days ago | 100% correct |
Sexual orientation is not a "protected class" for employment discrimination at the Federal level. It's up to the individual states to add it if they choose to. Many have, so teams in those states are in violation. Teams in the states where it has not been added as a protected class (Michigan is one) are not in violation of Federal or State law asking these questions. It might not be ethically correct, but it's not illegal if their state law hasn't included sexual orientation as a protected class. GO BLUE! |

There is no chemistry out there. The coaches have made us a one-man team. "Give it to Burke". It's Burke and then the rest of them, not a unified group. I feel like the other guys on the team are looking forward next season when Burke's gone. Not a fan of these guys at all right now. Let's hope somebody figures it out before all is lost. GO BLUE! |
| 13 weeks 4 days ago | UM vs Seton Hall '89 NC |
Michigan 80, Seton Hall 79 - first OT national championship game in 26 years, Rumeal Robinson hits both free throws in the Seattle KingDome to win it. Robinson to Roundrtee to win UTL a very close second - the view from Secion 6 row 35 was spectacular we saw it all and erupted in true joy. GO BLUE! |
| 16 weeks 6 days ago | Harbaugh's DUI |
JH had a DUI in November, 2005 followed not long after by leaving his wallet in a bar. This effectively sealed his fate in terms of succeeding LC - after the Gary Moeller incident at the Excalibur, Michigan didn't need any more alcohol abuse issues in it's coaching staff. I do think that Dave Brandon consults with Jim from time to time and takes his advice and input, but don't count on Jim ever being seriously considered for a job here. My brothers are both IU grads and love rubbing it my face at every opportunity that Jim is an IU basketball fan and cheers against his alma mater and for the Hoosiers. Causes me heartburn. I think he's lost his credential as a "Michgan Man" and I'm pretty sure he did so on his own accord. GO BLUE! |

| 37 weeks 4 days ago | evenly matched |
I'd say the crowd was pretty evenly split Bama & M fans, maybe 55-45 but nothing skewed heavilly to Bama - M represented well. It sucked to have some Bama fans sprinkled into the Michigan SRO section, the ones around us were loud and unsufferable as M imploded in the first half. I actually liked the Spirit pass option, you could get a beer easilly and it was fun to interact with the other fans around you and we saw the field enough. It would have been a lot more enjoyable if M had played better. GO BLUE! |

Stuck In Ohio 2 reccomended Joe T Garcia's in Ft Worth as a destination for authentic Tex-Mex. Our group hit Joe's tonight and the reviews are universally positive. Only two mains, either encheladas or fajitas but we wobbled out of there very impressed - guacamole like you have never had before. No reservations unless a group of 20 or more but plenty of parking just south of the StockYards complex. Not as fancy as it looks on the website and a big casual patio flips no problem. GO BLUE! |
| 38 weeks 2 days ago | 2 from Toronto representing! |
We fly out Wed morning - work tomorrow is going to be torture. Prepaid for tailgating in Lot J between Jerryworld and Rangers Park. 100 degrees and sunny all weekend, so pack the sunblock and GO BLUE! |
| 39 weeks 13 hours ago | its ABC |
Game is on ABC, so Toronto ABC cable feed (Bell Fibe is from either Buffalo or Seattle) will both be carrying the game. Real Sports (next to the ACC where the Leafs/Raptors play) will be your best option. Jack Astor's at Front & University downtown is also a good option. Have a Sleeman's or a SteamWhistle Blonde or a Cameron (or ten) and yell really loud. Canadians are very jealous of the passion Americans have for college sports. I will be in Dallas myself but help Toronto represent. GO BLUE! |

We booked here for $78/night on Hotwire cause we wanted a golf option and they have a Greg Norman course on property. Have been told it's the equivalent of 4 Seasons Los Colinas at a reasonable price. Looks like an easy drive to dwntwn Ft Worth for fun and shuttle to gameday. Curious for locals to comment. . . . .GO BLUE! |

| 45 weeks 2 days ago | Tram's awesome |
I got my hair cut at D's Barbershop on Long Lake Rd in Bloomfield Hills when I lived in MI and would often take my son in on Sat mornings and get a duo. Tram was a regular there and often had his son with him as well - many times he would be right ahead of me or else right after me and there was always some good banter going on between our regular barber Mike and the 5 of us. Unbelievably classy guy in real life! GO BLUE! |
| 50 weeks 1 day ago | '89 NCAA Finals / Seattle |
When I moved to Toronto, my office gave me a framed panorama picture signed by the photographer of tipoff of the Michigan/Seton Hall '89 NCAA Finals game in Seattle. Its 6 feet wide and two feet high and looks fantastic above the credenza in my office. This was before the days of panaorama camera lenses and it's actually 4 photos that are fused seamlessly together. The clock at one end of the floor says 20:00 and at the other says 19:59. |
| 1 year 4 weeks ago | lay off, Brian |
Brian - you have had a bee in your bonnet over this game ever since it came to be. You continue to give jabs at every opportunity about what a poor place Dallas is to be a tourist, and now this. I'm going to the game - and I am glad it was scheduled. Throw all the rocks you want to Brian - it's not going to get "unscheduled" and there are lots of positives about it for the players, for the fans, and for future recruiting. Let it be. . . . We had 17 days in NICU with my daughter back in the day - amazing how small those Preemie Pampers are and how much a small box of them costs, eh? Congratulations to you both and enjoy your precious gifts. GO BLUE! |

Poured myself a big glass of Absolut on the rocks as our boys went scoreless in the last 4 minutes. After the buzzer, pulled out my Visa and bought 2 Party Patio passes to the Cowboy Classic in Dallas Sept 01 on StubHub. I need something to look forward to. See you in Big D, RDT. GO BLUE! |

Brady owes the Ravens payback for the '10 playoffs loss, and the Giants for the '08 Super Bowl. I hope he gives both teams what they have coming. GO BLUE! |

Can you local doods respond please - my son and I plan to stay at the Four Seasons and play TPC Las Colinas as hotel guests, with a rental car for local transport around town. From the outside looking in, this seems like a good option logistically. Any helpful feedback greatly appreciated. GO BLUE! |

No, there is an arrogant edge to it here - Canada first, but if not Canada then "anybody but America". |
| 1 year 20 weeks ago | '06 WJ in VAN |
For example, cue "USA Sucks" being played on the scoreboard video throughout the USA/CAN game (Jack Johnson game) in Vancouver WJ in 2006. Nice international sportsmanship - if "Canada Sucks" was scrolling across the scoreboards in Buffalo last year, Canada would have gone into meltdown. |
