HELLO SHELTON JOHNSON!

Submitted by alum96 on
EDIT - he is a Wolverine

Strange one here - all we heard after his visit was he was quite disinterested.  FSU is getting a major class with 5 stars dripping out of every pore so maybe he sees the near immediate playing time in 2016.

20 minutes out no need to hold back...won't affect things at this point. barring a Weber-like change of heart I think Michigan gets Johnson.

Getting Shelton and Wheatley would be excellent. We already have a stable of solid running backs, and are fine there as long as we recruit well in 2016. But our defensive line needs help.

That title is kinda weird...makes it sound like Weber will have a change of heard and that will affect Johnson... which I'm like, I didn't think Johnson was being recruited as an RB, so how would Weber affect that... plus didn't Weber send his LOI into OSU already, so... whaaa???

Ok now I get it.

...as soon as it was announced that Michigan was out and his finalists were just Ole Miss and UGA.

I assumed it was your assumption earlier and that it was all of the people who hadn't picked correctly for me to Ole Miss switching their picks since they weren't locked in.

I really didn't look into it much, I just thought it confirmed your assumption from a couple of weeks ago.

But yes, they're all on UGA now.

You mean uninterested.  Disinterested means to have no personal stake in the outcome.

Hopefully Sam is right this time. Earlier he denied the 247 report that Higdon influenced Weber to stay with who he was with. Well, that actually was the case and Wiltthong scooped Sam Webb on that one.

First, people will toss out false excuses to rationalize their behavior.  I'm not saying anyone lied, but that's what the brain is designed to do.

Second, did Wilfong actually quote anyone or was it his speculation?

Third, I could see someone close to Weber trying to protect him by throwing out an excuse, sort of blaming Michigan, telling M fans that it's their fault he's going to OSU.

Finally, I'm supposed to believe that Weber decided not to go to Michigan b/c they also stole a 3-star from Iowa and instead chose to go to a place w/ a clear pre-season All American and a number one running back committed in the next class.  Now, that's possible b/c 18.

All told, I'd respect him more if that weren't a reason.  Without further proof I'll suspend judgment on this one.

Nothing wrong w/ the language but given the day's events I thought at first you were suggesting we'd take Johnson unless Weber flipped back.  Of course, with a signed LOI that's not happening, but I was confused nonetheless.

I can't blame Webb for getting Weber wrong. It seems like Weber's OSU friends convinced him that Harbaugh lied to him. It was a weird situation that you can't predict.

Otherwise, Webb has been doing well today.

EDIT: Also, multiple experts are saying that Webb could be right on Johnson.
