UM-friendly bar locations across the US (and elsewhere)
I went to law school at U of L and haven't been back since 2000, but when I was in Louisville there really wasn't a Michigan bar. I caught most of the UM games at the Granville Inn or Dutch's Tavern (not sure if either place is still there).

Nick's Sports Bar. I will get the location if needed.
As always, Go Blue!
Anything for a transplant in the dirty ATL who could use a Michigan sports fan to commingle with over some brews on occasion?
I'm in NYC tonight for business -- anyone know if any of the NYC bars will be showing the hockey game?
family is moving to texas, so ill need places to watch during thanksgiving breaks and such
yeah...I'm annoying
UofM COE Class of 2014
FWIW, when I was living in Miami, the local alumni group would meet at Shula's Steakhouse at Don Shula's Golf Club in Miami Lakes for all the games. The club page at the alumni site doesn't say if they're still there.

Anyone know any places in the Marquette area that would be good for football Saturdays? Ever since I moved here I feel like I get weird looks for sportin the block M when everyone else is wearin NMU gear. I've seen a few M fans, but I have a feeling they were just "trolls" on vacation.
I'm hoping that there some UM football fans up here, they just put up a Buffalo Wild Wings and I'd love to have an excuse for some wings and beer.
Just took a job in Stowe, VT after 8 years of being a student at UofM (a therefore 8 years of season tix). Anybody know of a bar out in this area that shows Michigan games?
Doctor Wolverine
The name of the Restaurant /Bar is Crackers it is right on the water in Crystal River Fl. The owner is from Michigan and has a big Michigan flag hanging in the Restaurant
I've got everything from the thread in the map as of today. I've also reorganized a bit - there were so many bars, I had to clean things up to make it easier to use. Good problem to have, I guess.
Is it kickoff yet? I can't wait to head to Duffy's or Mad River for the UConn game.
I cannot find a michigan bar in jacksonville. It sucks cuz there are plenty of ohio state bars
The Club is again at The Black Bear, on Mamaroneck Ave in White Plains....a large, sports bar type of feel, kid frendly, booths with tvs.......or Sam's Bar and Grill in Port Chester, right on the channel, for that neighborhood bar that roots for your team feel.
Michigan Man
Does anyone know of a place in Fort Myers, FL, or Southwest Florida, for that matter, where M fans congregate on game days?
Much appreciated.
It's Hucklebee deep and Davis close and Leach under center...
I believe that Tustin Brew Co. is an official Alumni Association Bar.
Greetings from Bolivia.

Pour House on Capitol Hill and Tommy Joes in Bethesda, MD are also good choices for the Washington, DC area. Any MGoBloggers living in the District?
"he finds a little seam... 20, 25... there he goes"
Just moved to Vienna a month ago and discovered that the pour house is probably the place to go. Would love to check it out but my daughters soccer games keep getting in the way. Have you been recently? Do they get a good group of Wolverine fans? Cheers.
So I will be in Europe for the ND game and UMass game. Does anyone know of a bar in Dublin, Ireland where I can catch the UM vs ND game, it would also be acceptable to go to a ND friendly bar and I can talk shit to the fans (more likely a ND bar in Dublin). I will have to check out the London bar for the UMass game.
In addition to Henry J Beans, you can add the Sports Cafe (http://www.thesportscafe.com/brand.aspx) , Sports Bar and Grill (http://www.sportsbarandgrill.co.uk/contact.cfm) and Bodean's (http://www.bodeansbbq.com/).
The Sports Page in Rochester, NY (499 Monroe Ave, Rochester, NY)
has promised me a TV every Saturday. I will be there for most, unless I am in Ann Arbor cheering them on myself.
I'm back in Chicago after a year long deployment. This will also be the first fall since I moved here that I won't have a Job that has me working Saturday. I have friends that go to Joe's at North and Clybourn to watch Georgia games, and while its a nice place, there are not to many Michigan fans there watching football. I have heard a lot of good things about Duffy's but have never been there. Is it really a good place to watch a Michigan game? How is the gametime atmosphere?
All hail Hoke!
There are a ton of reviews for Duffy's on gameday out on the interwebs - but expect an early crowd that gets rowdy for big games, even though it's a pretty big space. There are shot and beer specials throughout the game and a full menu. The crowd is on the younger side and it can feel like a frat house at times.
The local Alumni Association hooks up with a different bar or two every year. I believe for 2010 they've got Rockit in River North and in Wrigleyville signed up, so check their websites for more gameday specials. Obviously I can't say for sure but I'd guess the River North location would be the most subdued/mature/adult of the three this season.
I plan on headin to Rockit for my first Michigan game anyone have any advice on how early i should get there to get a table?
I'd say probably an hour or so. You never know. It will get more packed once we start winning this season.
All hail Hoke!
Anyone know of some Michigan supported venues for the games in Virginia Beach? I feel like I'm back in Ohio with the way these places get flooded with those fans.

I watched the 05' Rose Bowl at a house party for Alumni in Va beach. I know there is a regular bar the alumni association goes to if you look it up on the alumni site for va beach.

Our Alumni Association also meets at Bailey's in Newport News. It can be a pain getting there with bridge/tunnel traffic though. I have also been looking for a better place to watch games here. There are usually small crowds for Michigan downtown Norfolk at Baxters and AJ Gators but I havent been that impressed. Let me know if you come up with anything else.
Stuck on the wrong side of the bridge(s) on Saturday, i.e. wine country. This place in Santa Rosa called The Ticket is one of those mega-screen sports bars, and may be the best bet. I called, and the person answering the phones said they'd put on the Michigan game.
Missing Ann Arbor
The 508 in Minneapolis is the official alumni association bar in Minnesota (i.e. should be marked in red on the map).
I'm sure there won't be a Michigan bar, but I'd like to find one that is at least a Big Ten bar or shows their games. And I'm sure there are alumni bars in Jacksonville, but there aren't any in Gainesville.
Are there any SEC bars in AA? Just out of pure curiosity; I don't remember any.
Over at Maize N Brew, this map came up as a person was asking about bar locations. When that happened, I noticed that the location for Albuquerque is not correct. The Fox & Hound is located about two miles south of the listed location. Thought that would be useful to help prevent people from getting lost.
I will be there next weekend for the Notre Dame game (9/11/2010) on a trip and have no idea where I should go. Any help?
Really? Are there no michigan bars anywhere in central NJ? I just moved to Princeton a month ago but I'll drive anywhere that's closer than Philly or NYC...
and was wondering what bars around Comerica have the best atmospehe for watching the ND game. Obviously pretty much all of the bars will be at least semi-UM freindly, but wanted to see where you guys think is the best spot.
We were thinking Chelis or Hockeytown. Keep in mind we'd like to stay somewhat close to the stadium so that we can get to the baseball game quickly after the Michigan victory.
Thanks for your input, and GO BLUE!
Per the Alumni club website.
Missing Ann Arbor
Good crowd and bartenders are really nice to the alum. They also serve food.
I'll be in Vegas for the UMass game, and was hoping that I could watch it with some fellow alums. I didn't see a Vegas bar listed on that map or elsewhere in the thread. If anyone knows of one, could they please post it here? Yeah, I know I can just watch it at the Sports Book, but that's not really the same, is it?
Thanks in advance!

Three bars: I watched the game at the Inn Zone on Rainbow. Great atmosphere: walls painted Maize and Blue, cheap beer, free bagels, gear all over the place. Somewhat small but spirited group chanting and singing (and groaning) as you might expect.
Unfortunately, the equipment wasn't great - the (big screen) projector was pretty dim and the numerous other TVs didn't seem to have an HD feed. Maybe it's better for bigger (non-UMass games). Also, the audio was clipping at relatively low volumes - pretty distracting.
I'd go back, though. That said, the alumni association recommended the following two bars (unofficially):
Kopper Keg - 3051 St Rose Pkwy (just west of Eastern) or Buffalo Wild Wings at the Galleria Mall in Henderson.
help help!! how can i watch the game this SAT?? I have time warner cable (out of Rochester NY) and they are playing the OHIO game on the big ten network here. I have called and tried to find away to have them change! but NO SUCH LUCK!! they dont have the alternative channel in our area. Can i get it streaming online??? I cant even go to a local bar who has direct tv, cause this is not BIG TEN country. What is a loyal michigan fan that is stuck in NY to do??

I'm looking for a Michigan friendly bar in Louisville, KY and didn't see one on the list. Does anyone have any suggestions?
