It will be interesting to see how many people are still whining about transfers and calling for major changes in the program after we win the B1G and Rose Bowl this season. So much of any team sport is chemistry, and that was what we were lacking last season. Fix that and this team has plenty of talent to be successful.

Haha, this made me laugh. Funny cause it's true. Two of my faves during my years there.

To any posters taking cheap shots at one of our former student athletes, please move along. This thread is for discussing options to bring in a new player, not to cut down a previous one. Horford played hard and represented the university with class. He will soon receive his degree and move on to a new opportunity. I am happy for him and wish him the best wherever he ends up.

It sounds like his family has been pushing him to transfer to a system that utilizes more traditional post ups down low. If his goal is to play professionally, then you can't blame him for wanting to go to a system that better utilizes what he feels are his strengths.

I didn't see this mentioned in the past 50 comments and didn't have the stamina to read through them all, so my apologies if this was already brought up...or just common knowledge. Why is he leaving Alabama? If it is the fact that Nuss left, then it seems like that gives us a great chance of landing him.

I think those are class rankings.

If you watch the replay, Levert jogged over after the whistle and still got it before going out of bounds. Not sure how you can argue he wouldn't have made the steal.

Haha, so it outside of the realm of possibility for us to win by more than a few points? I do, however, agree with your first point that we will have to score more in order to win.

Or we could beat them in the finals. That is an option too...

The last I saw Vegas has us winning by 1.5, and the almighty Kenpom has us losing by 1. To just assume that we will win by 20 simply because we are the higher seed and have a great coach is not being objective. I hope that we win big, but I am expecting a close game against a team that is capable of beating quality opponents.

But...you do realize that the outcome of the previous game really doesn't effect the odds of winning the next game, right? In fact, the odds of winning the next six probably go up a little if we win the first three because we would get a more favorable seed...unless player fatigue is your reasoning?

It's only wrong if you lament about it in a thread clearly labeled as a "spoiler" thread. You must kind of like it, right?

Maybe he likes a certain major better, maybe he likes the city of Lansing better, maybe he has friends there, maybe they have better dorm food. Point is there is more to the decision than just the coaches. You commit to a school, not a coach.

2 road wins over top 15 teams. That is a solid start to the B1G season. We have a brutal stretch coming up, but I am really happy with how the team is stepping up since losing McGary.
|25 weeks 6 days ago||Makes sense||
Given that the B1G has the most money, it makes sense that they should pay the best coaches to come coach. The money always follows the best product, and in football that has not been the B1G lately.

Best of luck to Al. I think this move was as much about appeasing the fans as it was about job performance. But it is the entertainment industry and perception is important. Hopefully things work out for the best for both Al and the University of Michigan.

I agree, could have been a little more respectful. Sure, a lot of people didn't like his play calling, but he was still presumably doing his best to represent the university and to do it with class.

I'll take 8-4 with class if that is the trade-off. The day we have to start cheating to win is the day I stop following the school I spent 8 years at.
|32 weeks 1 day ago||This is spot on. Recruits||
This is spot on. Recruits like these coaches, they committed to these coaches. The only reason recruits might start to act a little....fickle...is observing classless fans stop supporting the team and screaming for the heads of the coaches they committed to play for. I expected us to probably go 8-4 this year, so maybe we only go 7-5 instead. Many analysts didn't predict we would even get to 8 wins. I think it was Football Outsiders that pegged us at 6-6 or 5-7. We lost our second best receiver to injury, our best defensive player missed a big chunk of the season and we have about the youngest OL we have ever had. Just because we lost one or two more games than you expected and showed our youth, that is no reason to freak out. These are the same coaches we were in love with during the offseason. The ones that we all loved because they were doing it the right way and coaching with integrity. They care about the players. Real recognize real. I, for one, am sick of the win at all cost mentality. We are blessed to have coaches who are willing and capable of winning the right way and recruits recognize that. The only thing scaring them now is a divided fan base willing to sell their tickets to their arch rival for $50. I am going to be out there Saturday cheering for the team that I love, and I hope that the rest of you can stop losing your juice for a few hours and join me. Don't come to the game because you feel obligated, come because you are a fan and believe that a 14 point spread does not guarantee doom and destruction. That is why they play the game.

I'll be there to witness the big upset. Can't wait! The last four games I have been to included UTL, OSU 2011, and UTL2...so I am counting on another great WIN for MEECHIGAN!

Agreed, this thread was WAY too positive. Let's talk about what sucks about Michigan in this thread, so it can be like all of the others for the past two months.

How would you explain only losing 1 home game the past three seasons, while consistently looking timid on the road? Home field advantage absolutely makes a difference, especially for a young team.

I guess, like, that's your opinion man. Maybe he wanted fulfill a dream of playing pro ball and saw that this was his best shot and highest draft potential. Maybe his dad is pretty plugged in and knew NY was looking for a wing. Maybe he was ready to start his own career. Whatever his reasons, let's just wish him well and appreciate his time he spent at UofM.
