"The face of the operation is Briatore (referred to exclusively in the film by his colleagues and angry, chanting detractors as "Flavio"), an anthropomorphic radish who spends most of his time at QPR plotting to fire all of the managers."

Want to say it started as a joke about Ron Paul supporters when they would look to every positive media mention as "it's happening!!" within the echo chamber. That probably puts it at 2007ish

Fair point. I didn't think Brandon would be dumb enough to leave a paper trail but worth a shot, right?

Great point and one that needs further exploring.
Part of me feels like it's not an either/or. I want to believe with $100MM from Ross that we can keep ticket prices reasonable AND afford to pay top dollar for a new coaching team. Would be interested to see the department's balance sheet though.

The crazy thing is that our tradition is as much about innovation on the field as it is the "three yards and a cloud of dust" stereotype.

This whole mess is disheartening and inexcusable. We have put our past 5... 6? quarterbacks through complete hell and none of them deserve what happened to Shane.
Changes need to be made top to bottom in the AD. Amazing that Brandon could be so out of touch for someone who "obsesses" over optics. I canceled my season tickets after the Gibbons fiasco, but never could have dreamed it would get this bad. And to add gasoline to a tire fire, Brandon completely throws Hoke under the bus with this blindside. Horrible leadership all around.
All that being said, I think it sounds like a pretty good idea to put a team doctor up in the box. Is that something that other college programs do? NFL teams? Might be a good rule for the league to adopt.

Just going to throw this out there because I was at the Utah game (first home game since 2011 Ohio) but did anyone else notice the t-shirt cannons in the Big House during commercial breaks? Has that become a thing now? Struck me as way more bush league than this stunt. Almost "WHO WANTS A FREE PIZZZZAAAAA!!" levels.

This whole thing may be the nail in the coffin for me. Really debating not putting up my PSD and just giving the money to CoE. How do you expect the public not to find out about what happened?

Appreciate the reply elaydin. I definitely understand your reasoning. I had been skeptical that mobile ads generated you all that much money, but it looks like that isn't the case. Knowing that, I'll send a few clicks your way now and then to do my part for such a great product.
P.S. The math geek in me would kill for a diary on some of the statistics you teased with here (impressions over time, users by country, etc.). Happy to donate a few bucks if you can make that happen ;)

College is "free" in Europe because they pay much more in taxes. It's not like the Michigan government can just magically let you go to U of M for free.

"The second segment focuses on "the money handshake" - the illicit payoffs talented players received to attend and stay at college sports factories. Stanley McClover, a former Auburn defensive end, talks about how he received not just cash but sexual services during a recruiting visit to Ohio State."

Putting a limit on voting someone down? For example, above 20 points would allow you to vote someone up, but you would need 100 points (or 500, or whatever) to vote someone down. You could also combine that with needing to spend a point to vote someone down.

The only reason I'd want Notre Dame in the Big Ten is so that we could have a killer hockey conference.
