OT: Michigan grad tech bro goes on shooting and spray painting rampage in Oakland

Submitted by Vengeful Barbarian on

So I get an email from my daughters preschool this morning notifing us that they are in lockdown mode due to an active shooter in the area. Apparently some guy was running around the neighborhood shooting at cars, homes, helicopters, and police, and spray paiting dicks and boobs on houses and cars. Everyone was ok except the shooter, who was shot by police and is in the hospital, but turns the guys is a Michigan Law School grad and cofounder of some tech company here in Oakland. This is the most bizzare Michigan related news story to come out of Oakland since former U of M baskeball player Domminic Ingersol swam naked across Lake Merritt after stealing somebody's purse.

Ok, the guy has died from the police gunshot wounds - now can you contain yourself from laughing at it?
Also, the person who filed the restraining order against him while at Michigan Law claimed he had said he had a gun and wanted to perpetrate a mass killing.

Y'know, some things just aren't funny, nor appropriate to joke about. And you can call people who tell you that sjw or whatever makes you happy. But that don't make it not true...

As much as I love Michigan and will defend fellow alumni, this guy was investigated at Michigan for criminal stalking. He even filed, and lost, a defamation suit against the university in 2011. Filed one against campus police for unlawful seizure.

He was clearly off his rocker, not drugs. Something like schizophrenia sounds more like it.

Suspect this is some type of mental health thing. The suspect is lucky to be alive. It sounds from the reports like the police exercised some restraint here.  EDIT: wow, so this is the incident that closed down the 580 earlier today.
