Harbaugh gonna Harbaugh. Love it.

On where you draw the line. If he was getting a standard 9-5, this level of 'thorough' would be acceptable. If he's making millions in a billion-dollar business built on protecting the shield, well, it becomes more likely that privacy fades away.

But an effective one at that. The first time I heard about the 3x3, and then ordered it, I felt like I was in some special club. Subtle marketing I guess yet very effective. Jamba Juice tried to copy that secret menu mojo recently (really, a gummy bear smoothie?) and it just didn't seem to be quite the same.

And that dampens my excitement (post video) a bit, yet staged or not, it came out pretty well. He knows how to execute.

Knee problems, back problems, neck problems, elbow problems, Achilles problems - they all come from putting a ridiculous amount of twisting force/torque on his body that, as you said, has wrecked him over time. To another poster saying he tries to dominate people with driver, likely true. Staying stubborn with a method that his body cannot physically support on a consistent basis is not a recipe for success.
Surgeries are less invasive now than they were in the past, yet there is accumulated damage over time when one repeatedly has their body cut open to make adjustments. I'm pretty sure his best days are far behind him.
|26 weeks 5 days ago||Her sentence construction aside||
Athletes (and in this case their spouses) will always be at a PR disadvantage. Owners assuredly know this. Athletes get paid top 1% money to play a game for owners that are financial gods among men and are very good at protecting that wealth. Anything that complains of fairness and equity is literally laughable considering the countless existing examples (e.g. the layoffs you recount).
Yet if you earned something and it's seemingly ripped from you unfairly, is it somehow more tolerable because you are at a higher starting point than the average person? Should you grin and bear it? I don't sympathize with her plight but I don't disagree with it either.

The topic (deflated balls) is pretty goofy, I'll admit. But it gets into a darker side of sports which is where there is a real problem. A couple of articles that start to make a few connections are at the end.
Succinctly, there is a conflict of interest with a win-at-all-costs mentality, the massive protected revenues obtainable through antitrust exemption, a commissioner hired by the owners of the league, 'independent' investigators with established league relationships hired by the league, and so on. The balls (heh, balls) themselves are symptomatic of larger possible corruption that threatens the product that we see on the field. I don't personally care about the weight of a ball, yet I do care that when I'm watching the fourth quarter of my team vs. the other team, the outcome is not pre-determined. It seems far-fetched to use deflated balls as a lead-in to match-fixing, but we were just talking about match-fixing leading up to the World Cup this year. There's a preposterous amount of money in the system, with heavy financial interests in outcomes going a certain way, for there not to be efforts to tip the balance one way or another.
I have never played quarterback competitively yet I know what a hard NFL football feels like vs. a softer one (with firmer being harder to grip and throw). It's rather unbelievable that one could claim that you don't know the difference.
I'm interested to see where this ends up in the weeks following the Super Bowl. I'm as big a Brady fan as there is, yet someone somehow should roll for this if we are to truly believe in the integrity of the sport. Otherwise it'll slowly devolve into the WWE with pads, knowingly or not, and the public will cease to believe in the institution as a passtime.
Bartender, pour me another!

If the staff want him, they'll wait it out. If they don't, they won't. It's his prerogrative to choose how to end his recruitment. He's earned it.

|27 weeks 5 days ago||A general rule of thumb||
Christmas season ends at Epiphany (January 6). There are some technicalities to it but I don't believe the wise men were seen tailgating in Pasadena on New Years. By mid January they were already back home watching the Divisionals, thus the tree should have been put away.

The more people are aware of the dichotomy that exists in sex slavery, the more momentum builds towards some futuristic optimum solution. Idealistic, yes, but it starts with dialogue.

For being up this early. I'm shutting it down now (Pacific time). You're a brave, brave soul for starting your Saturday at this time.

I mean... why are we on this board then? So we can be happy for a UM team when they win when we personally have nothing to do with it?
Harbaugh will Harbaugh. Quad zeroes onward is exactly what you want. Time for the team to get mad and get to work.
|30 weeks 2 days ago||A lot of work, yes||
Though Hoke maxed out to a Sugar Bowl in year one with another's players. Most of that was Denard being Denardian throughout the year, yet some serious discipline, intensity, and focus from Harbs will probably go a long way.
|30 weeks 2 days ago||We need a relevant OSU||
And others in the B1G as well, just like they need us. The B1G did well with bowls, yet is still mediocre without an elite UM. We will be fine now that the boat has turned in a better direction. Being elite in an elite conference is the bigger goal. OSU breaking a few stereotypes helps in the long run. And they can still get housed by Oregon in 11 days so it's kind of a win win.
|30 weeks 2 days ago||Eh?||
FSU had that many yards because Oregon was running them into the ground with 120 second possessions, turnovers or no turnovers. That yardage stat, plus time of possession, mean nothing. It'll be good to see Oregon finally get over.

He is less believable every year. Like Lou Holtz, his contemporary.
|30 weeks 6 days ago||That presser||
Jim looked tired and withdrawn. I'm sure this has been a year he did not expect, some good, some bad. Certainly wish him nothing but success here, yet I hope he also is or will be at peace with the events that have transpired. Couldn't be easy to deal with that pressure cooker for so long.

All in 4 Harbaugh!
