OT: Avicii dead at 28
Another musical coincidence. My daughter turned to Wake Me Up this morning on the way to school. Too young indeed.
Short article that explains why Avicii stopped touring. Experienced both physical and mental health issues.

That's a bummer. Levels and Fade Into Darkness were the soundtrack to my freshman year at M. RIP
Damn it. Avicii was huge during my college time at Michigan. Say what you want about EDM but this guy brought out into the mainstream in America.
I know he retired due to health problems, but it still stings big time.
Rest in Paradise.
What were the health problems? Didn’t care for his music all that much, but that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t get to live a full life
Take care of your body.
led to internal organ issues.
He suffered from acute pancreatitis and had his gallbladder and appendix removed in 2014
Alcohol is a hell of a drug
is bad. Hell, water can kill you if you drink too much of it at one time.
Obviously the excess level of alcohol is much lower than that of water
much milk is too much?
will give me the shits for a day and a half
Try drinking more then
I'm pretty sure your gut will let you know.
How much cheese is too much cheese?
Keep your politics off this board!
...your own business
As long as it's whole milk, drink away.
I’m 35, I’m fucked
He had a lot of issues stemming from excessive drinking. He had an appendix and gallbladder removed recently, I think.
I'm in my 50's and love EDM music. I was listening to BPM on Sirius and they were playing a lot of their songs which was great until I looked and it said Avicii - RIP. Great talent/too young.
Age has nothing to due with music genres. You don’t have to be young to like EDM.
Disclaimer: EDM is my favorite genre and Above & Beyond is my favorite group.
Love Above & Beyond. "We Are All We Need" is my go to when I fly.
But literally grew up with it in Detroit.
Soooooo sad. : (
Oh, if the sky comes falling down, for you
There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do
I heard you guys are suffering from chlamydia down under. It's so bad that they think you may become extinct in the next decade.
RIP EDM VIP
I remember before the Michigan-OSU basketball game in 2013 (my freshman year) they blasted Levels right before they opened the gates to let us in. For that game Dave Brandon had orchestrated some tent idea with makeshift gates to form a line. Chaos ensued as people stormed into Crisler. One of my favorite moments from undergrad.
RIP.
The Nights is one of my favorite songs, EDM or otherwise. I thought it was cool how his dad was in the video and they were just goofing around.
“Live a life you will remember.”
RIP
and avatar are in my top 2 for this site, along with Big Boutros.
The username was just from eating spinach because it's good for you. Yet the avatar came from an MGoBlog discussion with another user (I can't go far enough back in time to recall whom). A reference to the inimitable Hulk Hogan came up, a little Photoshop and *poof*, here we are.
This blog is fun :)
Avatar/name.
Watcha gonna do, brother
When the spinach assassin runs wild on you?!?!?

Clear as day now - thank you for the assist, brother! That was a rather funny back and forth haha
Was never a huge EDM fan, but I've got his big hits on my workout playlist, and can definitely see what people liked his music. He was definitely a great talent, and I'm sure he helped make EDM much more mainstream here in the states.
I guess the partying lifestyle just finally caught up to him. Rest in peace, sir.
was the song of my senior house on hill street.
RIP.
I took a pill in Ibiza
To show Avicii I was cool
Levels is still amazing. Big fan of the Skrillex remix as well.
I could be the one is my favorite.
Way too young to pass away.
Soundtracked a couple of great summers, man. This sucks.
Levels, Wake Me Up, Hey Brother, The Nights are my favorites
I was listening to the album True this morning while getting ready for work, hmm.
This guy rejuvenated my interest in music in general and I haven’t looked back. When I first heard Penguins (which turned into Levels) I was hooked. Saw him “live” a few times and his shows were so fun. He was a monster up there and a true innovator in the studio.
When Levels came out I was a sophomore at Michigan, so many memories from my time in college had Avicii songs playing in the background: nights at the bar, tailgates, even just a pregame. This makes my heart hurt that for the third time in a year I'm seeing a great musican whose music I enjoyed die too soon (Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington last year)
...because I have no idea who this is. I'll put my 90s alt rock knowledge up against anyone, however!
Look at me!
90's Alt Rock huh? Hmmmm....
Without looking this up, what song did Radiohead get sued for ripping off and who sued them?
Know, so I cheated and looked it up. Would not have been my guess. My turn, I guess...which famous album had 60 blank tracks, so the final track was track 69, and that track included in itself a twenty minute break before another ‘hidden’ track

ku-ku-ka-chu!
Tool - Undertow. The hidden track was called "Disgustipated."
"Tomorrow is harvest time, and for them... it is the Holocaust."
RIP. Super sad news. One of my faves
Wow huge loss for the EDM world. Way too young. :(
