Damn it. Avicii was huge during my college time at Michigan. Say what you want about EDM but this guy brought out into the mainstream in America.

I know he retired due to health problems, but it still stings big time.

Rest in Paradise.

I remember before the Michigan-OSU basketball game in 2013 (my freshman year) they blasted Levels right before they opened the gates to let us in. For that game Dave Brandon had orchestrated some tent idea with makeshift gates to form a line. Chaos ensued as people stormed into Crisler. One of my favorite moments from undergrad.

The Nights is one of my favorite songs, EDM or otherwise. I thought it was cool how his dad was in the video and they were just goofing around.

The username was just from eating spinach because it's good for you. Yet the avatar came from an MGoBlog discussion with another user (I can't go far enough back in time to recall whom). A reference to the inimitable Hulk Hogan came up, a little Photoshop and *poof*, here we are.

This blog is fun :)

Was never a huge EDM fan, but I've got his big hits on my workout playlist, and can definitely see what people liked his music. He was definitely a great talent, and I'm sure he helped make EDM much more mainstream here in the states.

I guess the partying lifestyle just finally caught up to him. Rest in peace, sir.

I took a pill in Ibiza

To show Avicii I was cool

Levels is still amazing.  Big fan of the Skrillex remix as well.

I could be the one is my favorite.

Way too young to pass away.

Soundtracked a couple of great summers, man. This sucks.

Levels, Wake Me Up, Hey Brother, The Nights are my favorites

I was listening to the album True this morning while getting ready for work, hmm.

This guy rejuvenated my interest in music in general and I haven’t looked back. When I first heard Penguins (which turned into Levels) I was hooked. Saw him “live” a few times and his shows were so fun. He was a monster up there and a true innovator in the studio.

When Levels came out I was a sophomore at Michigan, so many memories from my time in college had Avicii songs playing in the background: nights at the bar, tailgates, even just a pregame. This makes my heart hurt that for the third time in a year I'm seeing a great musican whose music I enjoyed die too soon (Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington last year)

Know, so I cheated and looked it up. Would not have been my guess. My turn, I guess...which famous album had 60 blank tracks, so the final track was track 69, and that track included in itself a twenty minute break before another ‘hidden’ track
