...really their strength this year? They put up and allowed quite a few points in their games against competitive opponents. This was not the same defensive team as last year by any means.

...Chryst at Wisconsin and Graham at ASU do seem to have made something of it. And Wanstadt effectively used it as a stepping stone into broadcasting, though I doubt that was the plan.

...our predictive skills here have not been super impressive. And the conventional wisdom is that the MSU head coaching job would be his when Dantonio retires.

With so many world leading organizations performing poorly and looking to make a change (Russia, Japan etc) and in need of a strong man at the helm, I don't see Harbaugh settling for an ambassadorship. Word on the street is that there may a vacancy in Pakistan shortly. How do you pass up a position at a nuclear power to go to Cuba or coach Michigan?

...watch Star Wars Episodes 1-3. What is the scenario by which Brady Hoke becomes a super powerful evil cyborg that senses his enemies movements before they even make them and destroys the planet Columbus just to prove to everyone he's not f-iing around?
'Cause if that happens in the off-season I am okay with giving him one more year.

This is bad news regardless of who it turns out to be.
|3 weeks 5 days ago||Well that's one.||
If we are following that trajectory we can take comfort in the fact that we are just in our Mike Price/Mike Shula period. All we gotta do now is hire an incredibly talented/hardworking sociopath.

|3 weeks 5 days ago||One wonders...||
...if the days of football superpowers are gone and it's only their fans and ADs that don't realize it. The Solich disastrophe was recent enough that there should still be some folks in Nebraska alive that can remind these uppity youths who think that they deserve better than 9-3 that the punishment for hubris is Bill Callahan.

...that anyone sober* or with credibility** in East Lansing was actually asking to fire the coach who in his worst year still got them to a bowl game. My family is made up of die hard MSU fan/employees, and I assure you that the unfathomable depths of the John L Smith/Bobby Williams era have not been forgotten.

Michigan fans have little understanding of what it is to be a Michigan athlete. Michigan revenue athletes may never understand what it is like to be a Michigan fan.
The worlds are too different to ever perfectly merge, but just because you don't have a common experience doesn't mean that there can't be mutual respect - it's only incompetent coaching and leadership from the AD's office that has made the two groups apparent antagonists. Because shit: don't we both just want the team to win and be something that the university can be proud of?
|8 weeks 19 hours ago||Well kinda.||
I mean, they are from Grand Rapids, and though not cool by most definitions, they definitely really care about their relationship with their customers. I can settle for an AD who isn't trying to be hip with the kids if that means that they also don't treat us with naked contempt.
