It's hard to blame either ownership for trying to get a better deal, or San Diego for resisting a taxpayer subsidy that almost certainly won't pay back. It would be great if the crap economics of taxpayer funded stadium deals was more broadly acknowledged so that teams could make decisions based on simple economics and fans wouldn't have to suffer from the inevitable deal shopping that now happens every time a stadium lease expires.
