Ben Herbert

All year long, we've watched Michigan physically dominate other teams.  Yet I've rarely heard our strength and conditioning coach, Ben Herbert, mentioned.  This guy deserves a huge amount of credit for the success that the Wolverines have had in the past 3 years.  Nobody has been more physical than Michigan.  Huge props to Ben Herbert!!

Hell my wife knows who he is and is terrified of him. She’s been a fan for almost 30 yrs and I often have to remind her how things were, or weren’t a penalty. But she dam sure know Ben Herbert. The entire college football world knows who this guys is. If they didn’t before, they knew Monday after his team of un fed wolverines were looking for their meal!

Reminds me of a Fletch classic ...

You know, it's a shame about Ed.

Oh, it was. Yeah, it was really a shame. To go so suddenly like that.

He was dying for years.

Sure, but... the end was very... very sudden.

He was in intensive care for eight weeks.

Yeah, but I mean the very end, when he died. That was extremely sudden.

Maybe the front page hasn't said much, but there's been many things on the message board over the season.

A little OT but does anyone seem to remember a very hipster-ish, yuppie S&C coach for Oregon with what I'm sure was a kombucha-infused handlebar mustache and Kentucky Cold Snacks-sponsored sunglasses who was featured prominently when they were pretty good not too long ago? Think I saw him on Miami's sideline during their bowl game but yeah...

I don't have anything really to say but I thought that was weird.

I don't remember the dude's name but I think you're right. Pretty sure he arrived at Miamuh along with Cristobal. The S&C dude (too lazy to google him right now) promoted a summer program to "Fill the sleeves" whereby he wanted everyone to do 100 bi's (bicep curls) and 100 tri's (triceps curls) a day to get the guns ready for the season. Not sure why that stuck in my head...

All the sarcastic responses (which I love btw) aside, am I the only one who never put together that he was a DL for Wisconsin in the late 90s/early 2000s? Looks like he was largely a reserve guy, but interesting nonetheless.

Even though he is talked about a lot. We should keep bringing him up. This man had a big hand in the culture shift that happened, and that is based on Harbaugh and others saying it not fans. Ben Herbert is the man.
