the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

Ahhh...Michael Talley. Yeah, the adult me was kidding. The 15-year old me is not. In fact, the 15-year old me is still waiting for a personal phone call from Chris asking me and my family to dinner so he can explain the complexities of the situation and express any sports pain that moment caused. He would then thank us all for being M fans and take us out for ice cream. I'm waiting for my ice cream, Chris. Even the adult me. |
| 1 week 1 day ago | wow. |
I titled this 'wow' because...wow. If Webber deserves an apology then I deserve one from him for breaking my young M fan heart in New Orleans. Should've titled this 'wah.' And Wetzel should've titled his 'Biggest Bullshit Thesis in Sportswriting.' |

They should just consolidate sponsor and bowl names: Fiestitos Bowl. |

John U. Bacon nails the problem, required reading IMO. More students care less. Losing seasons can't keep a student section full, but more importantly, and the trend we'll see in the future is if fewer kids are seeing games in the Big House...fewer kids are going to see games in the Big House. It's that simple. Price families out of the stadium, and you price a strong slice of your future fan base. (Yes, many people get into M football only when they come to school, but they're supported by several lifetime fans that reinforce the tradition.) http://johnubacon.com/2012/12/tradition-for-fun-but-mostly-profit/ |

| 3 weeks 3 days ago | Well...yeah.I mean, you |
Well...yeah. I do think that's what a half-empty student section looks like. What else would it look like? I mean, you don't see thousands of empty seats when the cameras pan around the stadiums at Alabama or Oregon. And yes, I think you're right, only other M fans care...but that doesn't mean other people don't notice when kickoff happens and our student section looks like it's been pulled out of a Georgia Tech home game. Sorry, I guess I don't really understand your point. |
| 3 weeks 3 days ago | Where is the petition to get |
Where is the petition to get students to show up to Michigan home football games so we don't look like a bunch of indifferent, entitled, ham 'n egger amateurs on national TV? Or maybe John U. Bacon's article hit the nail on the head and that we're just looking at the erosion of tradition for the sake of profits and we just need to shrink the student section... |

...with just a little more of an inside presence and a few calls, we could've overcome this meticulously crafted conspiracy! Think of what the world would be like today if JFK hadn't gotten into foul trouble early... |

...on the 4th Michigan basketball national title game in the last 24 years. Only North Carolina, Duke, Kansas, and Kentucky (the top 4 winningest programs NCAA history) can match that. A great group of kids and a great season for a great program that has finally turned a corner from a very painful drought. Go Blue. |

Not sure if this would turn into the pace of an NBA All-Star game, but I'm going... PG Trey SG Jalen C Rudy T PF Cazzie SF Glen Rice I just can't put Webber in there for my own Fab Five reasons...but I will put in Steve Stoyko coming off the bench! |

McGary will hit 2 clutch free throws with 13.2 seconds left on Monday night. |

After the debacles v. East Lansing and Happy Valley, I thought this team had given up on itself. Respect to Beilein for bringing this team together so that they could maximize their potential in the right place at the right time. Respect to this team for not giving up. Even hearing these kids talk...they're doing it right; with class, temerity, and respect for the game. Regardless of what happens Monday night, this 2012-2013 University of Michigan basketball team is going down in the books as one of the greats! ...but I'll talk about that more later. After all... WE'RE GOING TO MONDAY NIGHT! |
| 6 weeks 5 days ago | Congratulations to everyone! |
Best time I've had watching a Michigan basketball game since Rice and Higgins put us in the 1989 Final Four by dominating Virginia. Thanks to Beilein and the entire team! Go Blue! |

Last time Michigan beat a #1 seed? IIRC Illinois was a #1 in 1989...but last time outside of a FF? Also: I could be wrong about the Illini...bow thinking was Kentucky a #1 in 1994 FF? Quick! Someone with access to stats stat! |
| 7 weeks 11 hours ago | !!! |
One of the best Michigan games I've ever seen...in any sport! Congratulations for never giving up and taking down a ridiculously strong #1 seed! The sky is now the limit for this team! |

You'll wake the baby! I, for one, am extremely confused that this bitter infighting and rage in the month of March surrounding a Michigan not making the tournament... ...has nothing to do with basketball. Michigan still has one of the best hockey programs in the country. Red has been the coach for 28 freakin' years now. Every run comes to an end. Maybe next year will bring better days on the ice. Salute the kids and let's move on. We're back in the sweet sixteen fergodsakes! Go Blue! |

I can very much blame them for taking a MAC team lightly. And I hope they've come to understand that they're not good enough to take anyone lightly, especially when it comes to the tournament. |
| 8 weeks 5 days ago | Well...the reality is:If we |
Well...the reality is: If we can't beat South Dakota State, VCU, or Akron, then we don't deserve to advance. That's how the tourney works. This isn't about playing teams that are worse than you; it's about proving that you're better than your opponent. We should just take this and feel lucky that we're playing in Auburn Hills. As you were. |
