Once you think about this, it's a perfect fit for Warde.  It's a position that requires defending the indefensible for no reason other than to provide plausible misdirection, even if it doesn't make sense.  Look no further than justifying Alabama jumping FSU for no other reason than to punish FSU for not losing their games.

Warde can weasel out of dumb decisions as well as any administrator in the game...

College Football's gift to Warde-

"Warde chase out Harbaugh, make Michigan mediocre, bend over to the NCAA/Big Ten, and we will reward you with being Chair of the CFP committee."

Exactly.  This explains a lot about his complete failure to stand up for his university and to failure to accomplish meaningful tasks as the AD of Michigan.  He didn't want to jeopardize his chance to build his personal resume.  Leaders and Best.  We had one of the great leaders in Harbaugh, who set an example, stood up for what he believed in and taught others what leadership is all about.  Then over the last few months we saw two complete failures at leadership - Tony Petitti and Warde Manuel.  Petitti, who let the mob and social media make decisions for him and Manuel, who refused to do what was right and stand up for anything just so he could gain personally from not making waves.

Step 1:  selectively dismantle your football program to avoid any future conflicts of interest

Step 2:  be selected to chair the CFP selection committee

Step 3:  profit?

Any chance of this turning into a full-time role?

Edit: I see I was beaten to this above, so I'll revise to say I hope this doesn't interfere with his groundbreaking work in the area of NIL.

I was on student council at my (small, private) college, and it seemed like the president of our student council was more focused on the regional and national college boards they were a part of that brought them prized resume bullet points, than, like, doing the job at our school.

...Anyway, just a story I randomly thought of. Nothin' to do with nothin' or anything.
