They will move on to the next imagined complaint. I imagine it will be that we have not announced a new head coach within the first 24 hours of the search.
I’m sure that yesterday he was considered a good coach. I’m also sure that today those same OSU experts consider him a has been who was probably breaking all the NCAA rules.
Exactly. Included in this is their school’s pro day. It allows them to perform where it’s more familiar to them, on their terms, and with a couple of extra weeks to prepare. If you have nowhere to go but down, then why not wait and be a little more in control of the process.
I have a lot of unnecessary anger over Denard and Devin. I wish they had a quality coaching staff that could have set them up for future success in the NFL.
The team is terrible. Even before we knew they were terrible, they weren’t an especially fun team to watch. It’s not even worth the time to watch them on TV… I sure as hell wouldn’t expect fans to go to games.
No, this isn’t the right list. This is the list of the guys that are too short, too slow, etc. and if they have eligibility should definitely remove themselves from the draft and take advantage of another year of college ball. Right? Right?
Please come back. It turns out that winning National Championships is super fun and I’d like to keep doing it.
Oh man, the NCAA is so gonna suspend somebody for this.
I hope this goes better than the “historic alliance” between the ACC, PAC 12 and B1G. Or maybe I don’t. It took less than 3 years of that alliance for the B1G to destroy the PAC12, so maybe the SEC is next?
This isn’t all Juwan’s fault. He lost two players earlier than expected to the NBA and couldn’t have foreseen Hunter Dickinson armdonging his way to Kansas.
With all that talent last year, he coached them to a… checks notes… barely .500 record and made it all the way to the 2nd round of the NIT.
On a positive note, at least he (literally) fights for his team.
Severe penalties? I’m sure if this falls into even a slightly gray area within the rulebook that the NCAA and Big Ten would interpret it leniently and grant Jim an exception.
After all, it’s not like he’d be causing the greatest scandal in history or endangering player safety or anything.
Are you telling me there’s no sign and set for “throw the ball out of bounds” or “take bad shot that you can get anytime and do it within the first half of the shot clock?” Hard to believe.
Man, first the Lions lose, then Herbert decides to go, and now I get an email from mden that my national championship stuff isn’t shipping on time? This is a terrible sports Monday.
Logic has no place here. We just won the national championship and parts of our fan base are hell bent on being miserable and blaming everybody for everything.
I can’t figure it out. I looked through the ESPN play by play and they only used 2 TOs, so the broadcast seems right. They clearly could have called one after the third down knee and had like 30 seconds even after a field goal try.
And Goff was snapping the ball with time left in the play clock each of those last few downs like he knew they weren’t going to use it.
They should totally have NFL head coach job fairs. Like in a slightly run down hotel convention center where they give away free Chargers pens and Falcons stress balls. Guys like Jim Harbaugh have preset interview times and breeze in, while other guys like Matt Patricia wander around awkwardly with their resume hoping to get a few minutes with a team.
This guy was so into Michigan football that he traveled to every game for nearly a decade. Then he wrote a 600 page manifesto on how the Michigan program should be run. Finally, he routinely bought tickets for others so that they too could enjoy football with the only expectation that they send videos back to him of the game so that he too could see their in-person joyful experience. That’s fandom.

What about as an assistant? I know there’s risk in hiring a first time assistant, but it could be worth the roll of the dice.

I checked the score on ESPN while the game was underway. I believe this means I care but am unwilling to commit.
Or, to steal from the great Brady Hoke, I care, but I don’t fully care.
Proving the actual NCAA motto is “Just don’t get caught.”

Are you implying they weren’t wiling to just pull plays out of their ass?

But has the athletic department tried giving away free tickets with the purchase of a coke?
Guns Or Roses
Totally. We all know that schools should only name things after wealthy donors.
So we want him to be Fred Jackson but head coach-ier?
It’s a hell of a lot easier to police illegal guns when they are all illegal.
I own guns, I enjoy shooting (target shooting) guns… and I would have no problem giving them up in a bid to make the US safer from gun violence.

But were you looking forward to seeing them play in this offense and defense (if we are still calling it that)?
She’ trying to look it from a 30,000 foot view. Arial if you will. She’s been so bold as to say he’ll have an impact if tabbed.
Step 1: selectively dismantle your football program to avoid any future conflicts of interest
Step 2: be selected to chair the CFP selection committee
Step 3: profit?

The University of Michigan - Los Angeles Charging Wolverines?
I dig it. Feels like a likely NCAA violation though.
Let me guess… you like to start conversations with “I’m not trying to be an asshole…”
Are we still the current national champions? It lasts at least until the answer to that question is no.
This place is a misery pit, man. It’s like winning the Mega Millions and then going into a depression over the taxes.
Damn it Warde. I can’t believe he lost him to the Chargers again. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, Warde should be fired.

The rumor earlier today was that he wanted 5 more years (10 total). That’s a hell of a long contract in college football.

And now I know how people double post.
Everybody knows Counter-Strike is the only true source.
Player on the 2023 team? Likely Sainristil.
Just on the team? Easy answer…
Grant Newsome
He should transfer to Alabama… I bet he’d love playing for Nick Saban.
Are you watching the game? Watching well coached middle school teams would be more fun.
WR depth? Screw it, 4 TE sets. Maybe even 6 TE sets with a direct snap to a TE and then a lead TE.
Also, I’m all for this. Sainristil turned out pretty good.
We’ve heard rumors of grades. Best guess he’s suspended for road games because that has the biggest impact on time away from classes?
It seems like it’s that… or he’s not allowed to leave the state?
pure, irresponsible speculation on my part.
Did the entire OSU offensive line go to the portal? Their QB is bad, but he’s also not getting any time.
Not ok. And I have no problem with you outing him on this board.
He was looking for somebody that understood the pistol formation.
I’ll show myself out.
Hahaha… “Mel’s security”. Good one.
I clearly don’t understand intentional grounding if that isn’t an example of it.
I think that the Bears just out schemed themselves on that play.
Watching this defense is exhausting. Absolutely terrible.
Nope. They are wrong. JJ isn’t ready. He needs another year. He really needs to work on his… uh… mediation depth, and his… crown pantomiming.
Hear that JJ?! You need to come back for another year!
If they want to mix it up, they should hit other clubs too. Maybe mix in the designated 3-iron?
His name means so little to me that I honestly couldn’t figure out why a new head coach at Maryland would call out Purdue.
Not…
Extreme fandom you say?
Not my story, but one I heard about:

Too soon?
