Right!  The overwhelmingly…

Right!  The overwhelmingly vast majority of my Larry Bird memories are of him hitting some 3 to win a game, or otherwise make his opponent a little more sad that he's guarding Larry fucking Bird.  I forget that he played most of his career under the rim.

I hope their separate ways…

I hope their separate ways includes visits back to Crisler for Juwan - along with the 'Standing O' he so richly deserves for his playing days (every time he's spotted in Crisler).  I said this last week also - despite that coaching didn't work out, Juwan had better not ever have to buy his own beer in Ann Arbor.

Accurate, from what I can…

Accurate, from what I can see...

I can believe that he had a hard time here when Henson showed up, but it wasn't so bad that he actually transferred.  As far as his feelings after graduation, I don't think it was strained at all.  He's never been an overly demonstrative person, and fawning over his alma-mater doesn't seem like something he'd do regardless of where he went to school.  Throughout his career he's been making UM-OSU bets with the NFL's OSU alumni.  Just because he doesn't wear a lot of UM gear all the time, or doesn't fly back to Ann Arbor - a location ~2000 miles from where he actually grew up as a kid - doesn't mean he has a bad feeling about UM.  It means he moved on in his life.

Since Harbaugh arrived and actively started lobbying him to return, I do think his feelings of fondness have increased a little.  At least, he seems more willing to look back an enjoy what he had, and also enjoy the love he gets now.

Wilton Speight…

Wilton Speight quarterbacking this team would be another serious run at the National Championship - including a bye in the first round of the playoff.  Wilton Speight but fast?  That's not a 'serious run at the National Championship', its a win.

I'll take it.

Pie is better than cake.  That is all...

I mean, you guys know what cake is for, right?  It's merely the vessel that holds the frosting.  Frosting is the only good part about cake.

It wasn't long ago that…

It wasn't long ago that whenever anyone said anything about Warde never seeming to do anything, the answer was that 'he works in the background because not everything needs a public face'.

How's all that background work sorting out, Warde defenders?

About another 5 BILLION…

About another 5 BILLION years, or so...

Transfer credits have taken…

Transfer credits have taken on a whole new set of priorities with the Transfer Portal.  TO deny this is to deny that it even exists.  Dealing with the problems of yesterday is not the same as dealing with the problems of today.

BTW, 'admissions' is a euphemism for the transfer of credits issue that plagues upperclassmen trying to transfer into Michigan.

"...landing on the moon…

"...landing on the moon again, but via private enterprise?"

No.  The Gov't is funding the Artemis program.  However, the Lunar Lander part of that program is a contract from NASA to SpaceX to build the lander, which will be a version of the Starship that just made orbit today.  NASA is throwing ~$3B at SpaceX to build a human rated spaceship that can land on the moon.  SpaceX is privately funding the SH booster and the base Starship design, and have spent somewhere in the neighborhood of $10-15B on the program to date.

FWIW, the money SpaceX has spent on SH/Starship so far, has also built the manufacturing, testing, and launch facilities.  Along with all of the tooling and SW required by all of it.  Compare that to the ~$25B NASA has spent on SLS to date - which features engine, booster tankage, and solid fuel rocket re-use from the Shuttle program to push a 1970's style capsule.

"I wonder how much of the…

"I wonder how much of the Saturn V booster technology was re-used."

None.  Super Heavy (the booster) and Starship (the orbital vehicle) are brand new designs using the latest technology (and innovating technology where needed) - including the 9m wide rolled stainless steel body.  The Raptor methane engines are a new design, also, and cost ~$10M/each to provide as much boost as the Shuttle hydrogen engines.  (Which, BTW, are what is being used on the Space Launch System (SLS) boosters that NASA made and cost ~$75M/ea to refurbish, or ~$120-150M each to build new.)  Also, there is no way in hell that Shuttle technology (any of it) can be turned into a reusable thing by re-lighting engines in flight for a controlled, powered landing.

To summarize, SpaceX has built the largest, most powerful rocket the world has ever seen without re-using technology from 50-some years ago.  (The RS-25 engines were originally designed in the 70's).

Barry is a Sparty fan.  Couple that with the way he quit at the top of his game, and no thanks.

(FWIW, I don't blame Barry for leaving that organization one bit - I'm kinda surprised he stuck around so long, honestly.  But I do not like the way he left, or the timing of it.)

Don't forget about the Ace of Cakes.  (Although he sucked compared to Duff...)

Just say NO to JJ in the NFC…

Just say NO to JJ in the NFC North, unless he somehow falls to the Lions in the 6th round.

I'll just place this here…

I'll just place this here...  I DO NOT WANT JJ going to either the Vikings or the Bears.  Simply because I don't want him destroying the Lions a couple of years from now.  I trust Brad Holmes and believe in MCDC.  But I also think McCarthy will be the best of this years group of QB's in a couple of years.  And it won't be a question.

Wait.  I thought it was P Diddy...

Since when does appeasement…

Since when does appeasement get people off your back?  In the history of everything, when a group of people succumb to an oppressor and appease their desires, that oppressor just continues to take more and more.

Warde should have been fired years ago, but he runs a fine administrative bureaucracy with good budget control.

I hope he comes back because…

I hope he comes back because it'll be the better decision for him.  Without Sabb he's the clear #3 safety and will get a lot of snaps, along with being a prime candidate in the running for nickel.  Another season of growth, like last year, puts him in a much better light for the draft next year.

Maybe we just hope he lands…

Maybe we just hope he lands in Detroit to learn behind Goff for another year, or two?  How fun would that be?

I object.  But it's like pissing into the wind - what's the use?

He was, what, 7-8 against a…

He was, what, 7-8 against a PSU pass rush aiming only to take his head off from the snap.  I thought he handled it beautifully!  But there was no way that pass game, against that rush, wasn't going to be a Pick-6 and/or get his head crushed in at some point.  Changing to all-run-all-the-time probably saved his life...

Passing against PSU that afternoon was a killer mistake waiting to happen.  Sherrone out-smarted them like a boss.  That JJ only shrugged and smiled with the win (as happy as anyone that day) says volumes about him...

Yes.  Don't equate the two,…

Yes.  Don't equate the two, it's a false equivalency.

I ride with Harbaugh - I have liberal views for some things and conservative for others.  But trying to overthrow the gov't is out of the question.

I had a tour of the Capitol…

I had a tour of the Capitol building with my then-GF (now wife) guided by her ex-BF, who is a member of the Capitol Police Dept.  While he wouldn't let us actually sit in the Speaker's Chair, we did stand right next to it.  The history and gravity in that building is incredible.

It's enraging that some people attacked it violently.

Is Vince's grandson the guy that Payton paid to setup the pay-for-injury scheme in New Orleans?

I don't have a moment of respect for Sean Payton.  Thought he should have been kicked out of football then, think he should still be kicked out now.  He literally paid players to injure opponents.  The worse the injury, the more pay they got.  The players participating should have been sanctined a helluva lot more, too...

Same career path as Bill Belichick - attach to a lifetime achievement award winning QB and hang on for dear life.  Just ride it into retirement...

At least Andy Reid has done it with multiple teams and different players...

He shouldn't even be allowed in football because of that.  But, of course, money trumps everything, including the NFL's 'commitment' to player safety.

I'm onboard with this.  In fact, back in November and December I said he could be the first QB off the board, and probably the best of this class long term, and Sal Quattro (among others) shat all over me for that opinion.  Well, well, well...  Look where we are now...

I've seen individual bristles come out, but I still use the wire brushes.  Replace when old!  They're the only thing that really works...

Charcoal gets hot, mmmkay...  Really hot - because you'll probably have the grate too close to the coals.  And grease flames up pretty quick.  Let it flame, but keep turning whatever you're cooking, which I'll assume is chicken.  If, indeed, its chicken, make sure it's actually cooked through before serving it up.  Even if you don't like the in-laws, wifey does.

He's a keyboard rat, his dad was a mod...

But what are the other mom's going to think about his NIL deal?

I kinda agree, I think... …

I kinda agree, I think...  The WRs got open when the play calling made sense.  They had some trouble on 3rd and longs, and otherwise obvious passing downs - like anyone should expect.  More often than not, though, it just felt like McCarthy looked up his options and said 'nope' when the first couple weren't there.  Like Seth finally concluded late in the year - some of the routes that were screamingly wide open (ie: pretty much every time DE left the backfield) were probably just decoys.  I mean, it's not hard to imagine that Jim MF'ing Harbaugh used a Plain Jane basic-ass pass game most of the time.

When that differed, though...  When JH allowed it to open up a little, it was all there.  Witness Alabama.  Saban is still wondering what hit him...

I think we'll see more of the Bama game plan going forward with Campbell as the OC.  Plenty of run-centered running, but a better equipped passing game against most opponents.

You're putting a lot of…

You're putting a lot of weight on "rescinded"...  The rules governing camps now (setup by SEC/ACC request) effectively ended what Michigan was doing just as effectively as a ban on them would have.

As for scheduling, you agree that the B1G has stood by idly as the SEC schedules for its benefit?  So, essentially, the B1G is not 'flexing its muscle' schedule-wise to better compete with the SEC/ACC.

I never said the SEC wasn't a better conference.  I merely said that the B1G is not leveraging its relationship with Fox like the SEC is with ESPN.

You should actually read what people write and stop reacting to whatever you want them to have written.

IIRC, Mullings has made a few catches out of the backfield.  He's a pretty good guy to have back there.  Both Edwards and Mullings can run the ball, throw the ball, and catch the ball.  If only Edwards could block...

The B1G stood idle while the SEC and ACC changed rules regarding how high school players can be coached through camps and clinics.

The B1G has stood idle while SEC and ACC teams manipulated football schedules to play less conference games overall and cupcakes in late November before the final weekend.

The B1G has stood idle while the SEC manipulated rankings and playoff consideration by aggressively marketing their teams through media outlets.  (The SEC has ESPN in its back pocket in ways that the B1G has never tried to do with Fox...)

As much as we didn't like him, Delaney was a far better Commish than his successor clowns have been.  And even he didn't care about the B1G winning most (or any) of these 'battles' so long as it kept it's seat at the table.

I re-read the OP and it says 'all black lineup of hosts' - so I read it wrong.  Nonetheless, I can't believe this is the first all black lineup of hosts on a radio show, at all.
