But it's not the market setting the value, it's the schools and the collectives. NIL was supposed to be athletes having third party companies paying them for services. Ex. commercials and endorsements. It was never intended for schools to have bidding wars for 18-22-year-olds.
Just hear me out, maybe Nick Saban can be the Frank Abagnale Jr from Catch Me If You Can. He's did all these crimes and knows exactly how people try to get away with it. He can be the guy that cleans it all up and catches everybody. It takes a con man to catch a con man. He sure the fuck can't do a worse job than what the NCAAs already doing.
I can get on board with cheating like the other schools do as long as the state's attorney general would sue the NCAA to keep us out of trouble. It worked in the state of North Carolina and currently in Tennessee. Just keeping up with the Joneses.
He's not necessarily wrong, Saban has made it clear that he only cares about Saban. That's why he would throw his little tantrums and get rules changed like satellite camps. He has no loyalty to anyone else and people will listen to him. This crazy shit can't last. You'll find out real quickly when you start playing the new college football video game and are trying to scrape cash together for your backup/future starting running back not to transfer. I know it's going to piss me off.
There are reason that coaches are jumping out of college football at an extraordinary rate. Living in the wild west might seem fun for a little bit, but when it actually starts affecting people personally the shine goes away. Who the hell wants to worry about making sure an unrational 19-20 your old is getting a six-figure salary or they're going to run off to the highest bidder. And the kid can do it as many times as he wants.
I feel like if we keep adding teams to the playoff its just going to muddy the water. I would have preferred eight, but now it's getting the point where three lost teams are going to be getting in.
Sam was right, he accepted the job. He literally said on the round table that their head coach had just found out about the offer after he accepted it. Of course there was going to be a counter.
It's nice to have a program that can battle the NFL for coaches, but damn those losses can hurt. Like the Roundtable said nobody's coming to try to take Ohio State coaches.
You've been a member of this site for over 11 years. I would think you would know if there was any word it would already be posted here. Nobody's holding on to the info for someone to ask.
Coincidentally in the last 3 years my views have morphed from obsessive to still extremely passionate, but understanding this ultimately is just a game. I'll still be pissed off for a day after a loss and will still be overjoyed for every win. It was the best four game stretch of travel that I've ever had in my life, but l'll pick up where I left off. I was at fandom endurance in 2008 and felt the 15-year extreme lull. I've experienced the absolute worst and the absolute best. Ride or die
I would say that you throw them under the bus if you're hoping to light a fire under their asses. It's not for everyone, but calling a player out sometimes can be effective.
I am very frustrated, but I still have a hard time blaming him 100%. If admissions wouldn't have screwed him over with Shannon and Love this would be of completely different team. But ultimately you have to play with what you got and it's been trash and that's hard to overlook.
Joe Milton throws his second pick. Almost returned for a touchdown, down at the one. I imagine if he doesn't play in the UFL this will be the last time I see him throw a ball.
Have we forgotten that everything he touches turns to gold? Name one adventure that's not worked out with him being there. I think you could throw a co-defensive coordinator on him. I wouldn't put him as the lone man, but he's been absolutely fantastic.
You've been here for 10 years and you don't know who he is? He worked at Mgoblog for 3 years starting in 2008 and they talk about him all the time with recruiting. He's on the podcast every so often. This is a weird miss.
Thank you, I was laying in my hotel room in Houston at 2: 30am wired after the national championship and actually thought how I hoped somebody would make an updated version of this. It's awesome!
Crazy to think this is the one that I agree with the NCAA. I do not think players should be able to transfer every year and play immediately. I think one time is good enough until your a grad student.
You're not the only person saying this, but this is a terrible take. I'm sorry if I have no interest in traveling to the southeast for all of Michigan's away games. Fuck all the Big Ten teams and I rooted against them in every bowl game this year, but going to the SEC or being independent is not a good answer for fans. Also, Notre Dame's only going to be pulling in about $10 million a year more than a Big 12 team with their TV deal.

Awesome, I hope somebody gives him a championship ring.

Maybe he can get on the phone with Keon Sabb and let him know that he's a pretty cool dude too.
It makes you wonder if we finally got one poached.
The only negative from this is that his nose is still intact.

I disagree with this, I think you should get the maximum penalty for fumbling the ball at the most crucial area of the field. Don't fumble.
Here I thought there was a small chance that he would go away and the dude was playing 4D chess to beef up his job security. Son of a bitch.
Dude saw the writing on the wall and played some 4D chess. (Audible sigh...fuck)
Well that is how you get yourself some excellent jobs security...
Nobody saw this move coming, sigh.
When you think the match is over, but Hulk Hogan gets up and starts shaking the top rope.

This game might be killing Sam Hartman's stock.
Harrell with the fumble recovery.
Apparently he rolled his ankle on day two of practice and is gutting it out.
Field goal was doinked off the uprights. Brian believes this should be worth five points.
Oh Seth, delegate that to Alex. He's got that youthful energy and doesn't need sleep.
If this would turn out to be true this would be the last straw with Warde for Warde.

That was exactly what I was coming to say. Bell and Seth killed it.
Who knows, Jim has second round interviews with the Chargers and Falcons. Hope for the best and expect the worst.
It said January 26th multiple times on multiple pages before you checked out, when you checked out and after you checked out.

Another example of why ESPN is a complete shit show.

Crystal football that's worth $30,000.
Damn, you don't make a big announcement to stay home.
Thanks, I was hoping to get the hard copies of my tickets and you definitely helped me out with that.
Thank you, I was hoping somehow to get the actual tickets of the seats we were in.
Why the hell are you putting "the" in front of Ohio State.
* Shakes head in disgust.
I was able to see it before the game. It's way thicker than it looks on TV.
I mean he does get 30 days to go back in the portal because of this coaching change.
I got to meet him the day before the game. Awesome dude. I'm not that large of a human being, but he is a monster.
I got to see the trophy, it was awesome. This is the picture I sent to my Michigan hating friends.
I will have the knowledge that a lost to Michigan was his last game for the rest of my life and it will spark joy.

Sitting here waiting for the Sklar Brothers show to start.
