I can understand wanting to be secretive about the choice and keeping it a surprise and all - and he may very well not even come to Michigan-  but if a guy is your friend and you come to camp and say "sorry, man no pictures this weekend" wouldn't that come off as strange behavior? If I were Ferns that would be really odd to me.

The reason I get so upset at people calling for Jim's head (forgetting about the HoF debate for a minute) is that he has been in the pro game for around 50 years. People yell at him about line-ups and pitching changes, etc. from their couch. Jim has been in the pro game for 50 years. 50 YEARS. And people think they have the right to question his decisions. I mean like it or not if Gordon Ramsey comes in my kitchen and tells me I am a piece of shit at cooking, I say "you're right" and he has only been doing it for 20 or so. If Jim said anything about baseball I would be inclined to believe him. Everyone makes mistakes, but he has seen more in this game than any one of us on this board and most in major league ball. I just respect him a great deal. So much so that I can't really get mad at him. I was pissed we got swept in the series, but nobody showed up! Leyland can't swing the bats and throw the balls. I think people forget that he is one of the greats.   It is a wonderful time to be a Tigers fan. We have arguably the greatest hitter and possibly pitcher of a generation on OUR team. I just love watching these guys play. It won't last long so enjoy it while we have it.

I like the run he had in Pittsburgh. 3 strait divisional championships is tough to do no matter how talented the team is. Of course he did lose all 3 NLCS with those teams... I don't really look at overall records in judging baseball managers. You lose a lot in this game even if you are really good. I think his teams in Pittsburgh and of course the WS in Florida helped him. I think he is HoF worthy right now, but I genuinely feel he wins one with Detroit (hell he has been to two here) and that would solidify it even to the biggest Leyland hater.

Our staff has had trouble with a few kids too. The punter-who-never-punts comes to mind. A couple of our kids have had DUI's as well. I'm not saying Hoke can't get a kid focused, but nothing is a foregone conclusion.

1 week 5 days ago	I think it's great. I've sat	I think it's great. I've sat in at court before. It's fun. You can learn negotiating tactics,  leadership skills and pick up a little about law. If it is a high profile case it's even more fun. It's like free class.

I would never do that to you. To answer the question so awesomely brought up by the new user; he has none. He does have a blog where he looks at all youtube clips he can find of a kid (and only watches the ones where they are wearing pads) and writes up "scouting reports" on his blog about the high school football players. He then comes on to this blog and tells people to go to his blog to look at the write ups. He also keeps track of offers that go out, most likely by looking at Rivals or Scout offer tracking.
