Most likely. They are…

Most likely. They are probably just making sure the case is ironclad so they can fire him with cause.

I'm pretty indifferent about

I'm pretty indifferent about the decision, but I'm bummed it happened less than two months after we had to pay Virginia Tech to cancel our series. I was looking forward to that home and home, and I believe the rationale was too many P5 teams on the schedule that season.

This is where I curse Delany's name, correct?

To be fair, most people had

To be fair, most people had Lewis as a late 1st/early 2nd but he dropped because of the domestic violence accusation. He didn't go to court and get cleared until after the draft.

Correct. He got a camp invite

Correct. He got a camp invite to tryout, but has not been signed as a UDFA

Thank you for this rational

Thank you for this rational take. I know we're all upset that he fell so far, but acting like teams were not judging his talent is absurd.

It's been reported that it is a similar condition to Nick Fairley. Fairley had the best season of his career in 2016, but then his condition worsened in the blink of an eye and he hasn't played a snap since. Like you said, it's something that could never be a problem or could manifest right away. Can't really blame teams for not wanting to take the gamble with a high pick.

It's a bummer for Mo, but with his work ethic he can make it up with a monster 2nd contract. Plus he'll be medically monitored constantly so it doesn't sneak up on him and he can live a healthy life.

Yep. Never gave up a sack in

Yep. Never gave up a sack in his 4 year career against some pretty nasty SEC defenses.

Like you said, not exciting, but considering Stafford was sacked 47 times last year and we had no run game I don't mind it.

Ravens trading down and John

Ravens trading down and John Harbaugh will take Mo Hurst

There's a few factors here.

There's a few factors here. Sales for regular cars are and have been down horrendously. The fusion and focus are both made in Mexico already. Even being made there, they lose money when they sell a focus, and have a razor thin margin on the Fusion. Not to get political, but I think they probably got a heads-up about some new tariffs coming soon, in addition to Q1 sales being in the shitter.

They can't bring the focus back to Michigan (Wayne Assembly), because that plant has already been retooled to make the Ranger and Bronco starting next year.

This might seem like an overreaction, but it's not. They have slowly been updating and will continue updating plants to streamline production to where they can handle just about any vehicle. Same thing they did with their modular engines.

There's no sense in continuing to make a car that you don't make money on, but if the demand for cars increases it's not that hard to bring one back with the way they have set up the assembly plants. Not to mention the fact that the new SUVs have incredibly gas mileage.

I agree. His teammate slept

I agree. His teammate slept with his girlfriend. He was betrayed by two people who were supposed to be closest to him.

Was it a case of him trying to find the most hurtful word to try and get back at him, and it was a one time deal? Or does he have racist tendencies and this was just the only time he got caught? None of us know him, so only his teammates can make that call. I heard a rumor that they voted him back unanimously, but obviously can't confirm that.

It doesn't make what he said any less reprehensible, but MSUs LB corps should be a strength for next season even without him, he would still need NCAA approval for a 6th year, and he hasn't played a snap since '16. Seems like a lot of risk for little reward if the team wasn't ok with it.

When Disrespekt goes too far.

When Disrespekt goes too far. The "chip on the shoulder" mentality has fueled some great teams in football and basketball, but it has reached the tipping point.

It has now spread to the entire university and fan base and they go into instant defense mode. ESPN is out to get them, the legal system is out to get them, they think they are victims here too.  The "us against the world" mentality has consumed them and they are now blinded. They can't fix that until they bring in outside leadership for a culture change.

Chad would probably be a

Chad would probably be a great coach, and I'm all for second chances, but the dude had domestic battery and assault convictions in both 2000 and 2012.

I wouldn't touch him in a normal climate, and especially not with all the crap going on in EL. If an NFL team wants to give him a shot that's fine, but a college team would be incredibly tone deaf and potentially dangerous. I do believe that he is remorseful, but you can't take that chance.

I'm partial to drunk Brent

I'm partial to drunk Brent Musburger for that call.

"Wide open is Gallon, they left him alone!" "Lobs it up, caught, I don't believe this RORY ROUNDTREE"

Ehh it's possible, but I'm

Ehh it's possible, but I'd bet that he just deleted it without being asked.

A bunch of our blowhard fans, who have no idea the amount of petty asskissing that goes on during an official visit, are running their mouths saying "He gone, he's taking the free car". There's nothing wrong going on in the picture, and to question a kid's integrity while he's trying to take a visit with his family is a beyond obnoxious.

Oh put your logic away and

Oh put your logic away and grab a pitchfork instead!

But you're right, and in fact, it's a fairly common practice. Picking a recruit up from the airport in a Ford Pinto isn't exactly showing the love.

Not to say Georgia is doing everything above board, but this is nothing.

Random observation, but I

Random observation, but I can't think of a single football or basketball game that Rece Davis has commentated that we won.

Not that I'm superstitious or anything....

As disgusting as this is, it

As disgusting as this is, it really doesn't surprise me. MSU has stayed consistent with their head in the sand, "we didn't know" defense. I'm not a lawyer, but wouldn't waiving the bill before the trial is over be an admission of guilt basically?

Yes it's extremely tone deaf by them, but I would imagine it's tactical. However, articles like this are good to keep the pressure on MSU that no one is buying their excuses. Hopefully this young lady gets exponentially more in a settlement, not that it would heal everything.

Or it could be having a baby

Or it could be having a baby at 53 years old.

Either way, I learned a lesson. Don't try to get in the Pope's good football graces with Jordans made in a sweatshop. It doesn't end well!

Outside of the obvious that

Outside of the obvious that Paterno was revered as a national figure, the financials of the situations are another big difference.

PSU football alone makes around $70 million a year now. With the Sandusky ordeal, the narrative was that they were ignoring the abuse in order to protect their cash cow.

Gymnastics, on the other hand, actually costs the university a lot in order to run. It actually would've been beneficial for MSU from a fiscal stance to shut the program down all together.  It paints a picture that MSU had no benefit to keep or cover for him (while largely ignoring the fact that they were protecting their reputation and covering their asses from lawsuits).

In comparison of these situations it's very unfortunate, but the "greed is the root of all evil " report will always be pushed even though sometimes people are just flat out depraved.

Alright that was cheesy as hell, but you get my point.

In Herm's defense, modern

In Herm's defense, modern jerseys have so much spandex and nylon in them that they do look tiny when not stretched out over pads.

Then again, if he had coached in the last decade, he would already know such things.

He's known for building a

He's known for building a system around players, and not forcing players into his.

His Wisconsin offense with Montee Ball looked totally different than his Pitt offense with Nate Peterman. And his Pitt offense looked different than what he did with Guice at Lsu.

Anyone who can get Danny freaking Etling with 14 Tds to 2 ints is good by me. Okorn was 2 tds to 6 ints and 5 fumbles(1 lost) in case you needed that depressing reminder.

A couple things that jump out

A couple things that jump out at me.

First being "Title IX doesn't exist in this office". They've been using that quote as a click-bait title and making it seem like RR said that. In reality, that was a quote from the plantiff. Makes a huge difference to me, especially when the person saying it is trying to get $8 million.

The second thing is the timing. I always have to give things a second glance when allegations come out after the fact. She worked for RR since 2011, why not do something while things are happening instead of afterwards when it's hearsay now? But the link shows that her daughter was on some type of scholarship because of her position in the AD. That changes everything for me. That's leverage that can be used against her and I can completely understand waiting until her daughter graduates.

As much as I think RR is a scumbag, he deserves the right to defend himself. When looking for a $8 million payout, this appears to be a really weak case. Or it could be a warning shot to RR, that he doesn't want to go to court and have all of his personal business included in the discovery. I'm beginning to think that might be the case, and would make a lot of sense with the statement Arizona gave firing him.

Don't forget about Scott

Don't forget about Scott Turner (Norv's son). He was an analyst this year, with a handshake deal that he would become the 10th assistant when the rule went into effect.

No source or anything and simply a guess, but I wouldn't be suprised if he took over for Pep.

Edit: looks like it has been

Edit: looks like it has been confirmed by other sources.

I've noticed on crossing

I've noticed on crossing routes, Peters does a nice job of throwing the guys open. O'korn waits til they are open and then throws it. By that point, the defense is already closing in and is ready to pop it loose. Doesn't excuse the drops by any means. It's an improvement for OKorn though because he wasn't seeing them at all earlier.

They are going to have to get creative to win. Lots of screens. I'd love to see some old Jedd Fisch wrinkles, like the double fake screen that always left a TE open in the middle. There's plenty of ways to catch the defense off guard instead of the wildcat that never works. Hopefully Drevno and Co ' know that they might be coaching for their jobs and pull off something magical

Yeah my mistake I meant

Yeah my mistake I meant returning starter. Idk why I wrote senior. Can't forget about Mo.

What? We pitched shutouts in

What? We pitched shutouts in the 4th quarter of every game until Indiana. We only gave up 3 points in the 4th yesterday. Wisconsin is coached well and they adjusted at halftime. Don Brown then adjusted to their adjustment. You'd have an argument for Penn State, but even then we shutdown Barkley. McSorely had the game of his life.(I guess Brown gets some blame for having McCray cover Saquon on wheel routes)

Our best corner was out. The only senior on our defense is arguably the weakest link. The defense is just fine. In fact, it's exciting at how nasty they are being this young and not very deep.

Oh for fucks sake. Ace's

Oh for fucks sake. Ace's twitter is not the same as the front page of MgoBlog. The dude is allowed to have personal opinions that you can easily ignore by not following him.

How is MLive bullying? The clip already went viral. All this article does is clarify that it was a Harbaugh. Offers no other commentary.

You can be mad at the people sharing it on Twitter or the Fox camera man for picking it up if you want I guess. Seems like an overreaction.

I would be interested in

I would be interested in having the test done on myself. Not only because of years playing football, but all the time I spent banging my head against the wall watching an Al Borges offense.

The guy did get his haircut

The guy did get his haircut in honor of Charlie Sheen...

Well they were going to ask

Well they were going to ask about it because of what the cameras picked up on Saturday.

He tried the nurturing approach and it didn't work. So he said he was trying what worked with Kenny Allen last year to get him out of his slump.

Ill give Coach the benefit of the doubt that this is just a psychological motivator because of his track record. But I'm also a biased homer, and would probably be having a field day if Brian Kelly did it.

Iron is stronger than

Iron is stronger than brass.

Quinn has brass balls right now, but needs to be stronger.

I have no idea though. And I have a feeling my MgoBlog ads will get even sketchier if I google it.

Well glad we can put to rest

Well glad we can put to rest the rumor that Kirk Herbstreit forced his hand into staying at LSU by reporting that he took the UM job too early.

Turns out Kirk just has shitty sources.

The Mark Dantonio method.

The Mark Dantonio method. Come to think of it, they always play to the level of their competition too but always seem to get a lucky bounce just in time.

I'm not sure if Kinnick magic

I'm not sure if Kinnick magic exists or if Ferentz just plays down to lesser competition.

SMH. Why these girls keep

SMH. Why these girls keep falling for these rich, famous, successful, ruggedly handsome types instead of me blows my mind

Wouldn't surprise me. After

Wouldn't surprise me. After the first 5 minutes of the game, Barkley only had 24 yards rushing for the remainder of the Michigan game. Wouldn't be surprised if Don Brown figured it out as well.

If only there was a tip-off for a wheel route though. Still too soon

These mid-week games are

These mid-week games are great for exposure for the MAC, but this game sucks for the students.

Central/Western weekend was always a blast(shitshow) to go to, even though I had no affiliation to either school. Seems wrong having it on a Wednesday.

I think it's just being

I think it's just being realistic about what our team is. Lost the most guys to the draft, youngest team in the country. Going forward, especially with the way Harbaugh inserts freshmen so frequently, we should never be in another spot where our entire roster turns over in a year. Harbaugh gets some slack for this year, not so much going forward.

However, at least in my eyes, the traditional expectations have changed from Big Ten Championship to National Championship.

Ehh and choosing OSU last

Ehh and choosing OSU last year partially had to do with them sending  ̶l̶u̶c̶k̶i̶e̶s̶t̶ ̶t̶e̶a̶m̶ ̶e̶v̶e̶r̶ conference champ MSU and getting shutout. (Yes I realize there was a lot of other factors, but "eye test" was stressed a lot because of how badly the B1G champ had played the year prior).

Not sure what they do this year. They seem to change what they weigh the highest from year to year.

Regardless of what happens,

Regardless of what happens, I'm going to enjoy the rest of Michigan's season. Too few games left before we go into another long offseason.

On an unrelated note, I really really miss making 3-9 and 4-8 jokes.

Brady's still playing at a

Brady's still playing at a high level, and Kraft has seen the writing on the wall that Brandon Peters is his next franchise qb.

Really smart move though. Qbs always seemed to get overpaid after their rookie deal for playing decent in garbage time. Osweilier, Matt schaub, Matt flynn, etc

That is a solid

That is a solid consideration.

Counterpoint: It will probably be Matt Millen announcing.

NIU unveiled a new statue of

But yes I agree. Kareem Walker had a bit of a rough academic start as well, but fought through that. A weaker-willed individual would've just transferred to an easier school. Very proud of Hawkins and Walker for valuing academics.

You're absolutely correct. My

You're absolutely correct. My intention was to overstate the responsibility placed on the qb, not downplay the other positions. Poor choice of words on my part.

So you'd be pretty annoyed

So you'd be pretty annoyed with only winning by 4, but losing after giving up 5 turnovers doesn't do it?

Everyone knew a bad storm was coming. Dantonio played with urgency while the weather was good, and then pounded the rock and protected the ball when the rain started. We fucked around in the first half, and then decided to run an air raid in a monsoon even though Higdon was getting 5.5 yds a carry.

No it doesn't make Dantonio a wizard, and Harbaugh is the better coach. But giving the rbs 28 carries while having JOK throw 35 times in high winds and a downpour in his first start of the season is just flat out bad coaching.

I'd take a 1:1 ratio at this

I'd take a 1:1 ratio at this point.

John O'Korn has 1 TD to 4 INTS and 2 Fumbles

Speight had 3 TDs to 2 INTs and 3 Fumbles

Darnold can win you games, but he can also lose them. Very Favre-like. Our QBs at this point will only lose them. (John O'korn has greatly improved ball security the past two weeks though, so I'll give him that). Darnold also has 1,000 yards more than our two qbs combined at this point even though he's having a bad year.
