Subway may not be crazy, but I'm going with the Spicy Italian with Wagnerian onions, jalapenos, lettuce, tomato, oil/vinegar, parmesan, oregano, salt, pepper and light mayo, provelone and various salted meats. Ordering online and picking up while all the folks in line look at me like "what?!?"
why are you even bothering with "light mayo?" Asking, good naturedly, for a friend.
Good question. Fewer calories, I guess. Reduces a 1,000 calorie sandwich to 900. Same moisture. Makes all the difference.
I'm Debby Downer with a salad today, but I just wanted to say that it's hard to find a good sub outside of the Italian Delis and Pizza Shops in Jersey (note Jersey Mike's was great before it was super-franchised).

They are constantly out of everything bread, and it just doesn't make sense. It should be the most stocked item in that place. So damn good.
I had an Italian Assorted on multigrain bread this past Friday as my wife had picked up a few subs while she was out in Ann Arbor. Really should have gone with the Godfather, come to think of it, but perhaps I wasn't feeling sufficiently crazy at that point.
