Improper U.S. flag protocol…

Improper U.S. flag protocol in the first pic. If multiple flags are on the same level, no flag should be to the left of Old Glory when viewed by the public. Just saying.

Bama 59, UM 24. This completes another year-end total collapse

Terrible tragedy. Way too…

Terrible tragedy. Way too young to go. RIP, and I hope friends and family can in some way comfort the wife and son during this sad time.

Makes no difference where…

Makes no difference where the Lions first pick falls. Their total inability to draft successfully is only exceeded by their ignorance re those X and O thingies other coaches constantly pore over (the Lion staff puzzles over this strange mutation of Tic-Tac-Toe).

That 7 point spread vs Bama has got to be per quarter, right?

Jerry Jones only wants a puppet for HC. I don’t see Urbz wanting that role.

Not only that, EYB, but we…

Not only that, EYB, but we'll be sent to a low level, meaningless bowl game in Florida. Of course, some of our best players will even opt to sit that game out.

NFL talent? One has to…

NFL talent? One has to question that evaluation. What NFL team (other than the Lions) would take receivers whose hands turn into waffle irons in big game situations?

No. I'm not sure we are…

No. I'm not sure we are better OR more popular than Wisconsin. So far this century, Wisconsin has won 188 games to our 166. Sadly, most of us are still hoping the pre-2000 glory years will return. Good luck with that. As regards popularity, we are tremendously biased in our self-appraisal thereof. Having lived in a number of places around the country during that period of time, I can assure you that many folks regard us as a hopelessly fading dynasty football-wise.

Aren’t we going to need a QB…

Aren’t we going to need a QB transfer? We’re actually going to use a “home grown” version next year? This Board will go ballistic if we have to rely on our own QB recruits.

Happy Thanksgiving, WD. Thanks for all your great contributions to MGoBlog through the years.

Have to admit, I was one of…

Have to admit, I was one of those guys complaining about Gattis after the first several games. He has our offense really coming alive now. “Speed in Space” lives!!!

Good grief! There aren’t…

Good grief! There aren’t many teams where you’re a high 4 star, and when there’s a game timeout, you’re the one always handing out sweat towels and holding the coach’s whiteboard. Talk about the bar being too high...

WOOT! WOOT! WOOT!

WOOT! WOOT! WOOT!

My personal strategy is to…

My personal strategy is to start drinking beer early and continue throughout the game. If we win, I’ll continue to happily sample beer while watching later games. If the unthinkable happens and we lose, I’ll start chugging hard liquor until I pass out and forget anything that happened. End of strategy.

And right back at you, bro.

And right back at you, bro.

I was going to say that…

I was going to say that Kenny Stabler would like to have a word with you. But you’re right. I can’t think of many more good lefties through the years. Steve Young? Hmmm...maybe I’m just having a brain fart. Happens a lot to me.

Of course we will!!! Oh wait…

Of course we will!!! Oh wait...you're talking about football??? Never mind.

Ahhh, the Michigan…

Ahhh, the Michigan difference. If they're better than us, they must have cheated somehow.

Ineptitude in space! To think a month ago I was worried Gattis would leave after just one season, now I'm terrified he won't.

Thank heavens that prior abomination has been expunged.

They’re all out chasing ambulances or filming late night/early morning TV plugs.

I think the first bye week…

I think the first bye week is perfectly placed this year. We survived our intro into the new offense beating two fairly decent non-con foes. There are obviously some kinks to smooth over. The two week retraining period is well placed as a prelude to conference play.

Not nearly the greatest of…

Not nearly the greatest of all-time, but Dave DeBusschere should at least get some honorable mention. Starred for Catholic Central HS, UofD, the Pistons and Knicks (two NBA championships), even played some pro baseball. Seemed to be a class act. Strange no one even mentions him; I must really be dating myself.

The defense played just fine…

The defense played just fine against an inspired Army offense. The D hung in there, then forced the big turnover to end it all. We haven't played Army for 57 years. I hope it's at least that long till we face them again.

Instead of watching a half…

Instead of watching a half like that again, I'd rather be tied down fully awake and disemboweled with dull, rusty garden tools.

I'm starting to get the sinking feeling Michigan won't cover the point spread.

Congrats and best wishes to you and your wife. Cherish the wonderful news, and by all means celebrate like crazy. Right now, noooobody has it better than you two!

It's probably only me, but…

It's probably only me, but Charbonnet evokes mental images of what I hoped Ty Isaac would become when he transferred here from USC.

From the get-go when I saw…

From the get-go when I saw our first Bye Week came early in the schedule right after the first two non-conference games, I figured the week off would allow the team to fine-tune the new offense before starting conference play. I just hope we survive the Army game with a win and no additional injuries.

31-10, good guys. Growing pains on offense, but it all turns out okay.

There's seldom a good time…

There's seldom a good time to go, but 36 is waaay too young. RIP, Cedric.

I know the coaching staff…

I know the coaching staff usually seeks to "tone down" the praise of any one position group, but I find myself less than confident when I review the staff comments about the RBs throughout the summer. I don't at all get the feeling that the entire group is playing lights out, and the staff is just hoping for one of the group to stand out most. I just get the feeling that we're stuck with a fair-to-middling crop despite the supposed improved OL. I hope to be surprised (pleasantly) come August 31.

Also, somewhat surprised by the practice footage shown. Looks like the warmups one would expect on the first day of Fall Camp, not the type of scrimmaging I'd expect with only two weeks to go before the season opener. They're just holding back, right? RIGHT?

It should be noted that…

Great intro to the NFL, Mr. Bush.

Like all of us, John’s not…

Like all of us, John’s not getting any younger. I hope this championship comes while John is still above ground, else he’ll need the help of a ghost writer! (I’ll show myself out now.)

I have the perfect answer, except you didn't designate this thread as OT. Too bad, bro.

Wow, this sounds like a much different "cutting the cord" discussion than we had a few days ago. Oh well, I'd still recommend streaming with YouTube TV afterwards.

Been waiting for this seems like forever. Looking for a new beginning, offensively at least.

I used it last year during…

I used it last year during the regular season for all UM games, as well as to watch many of the MLB post-season games. Streamed over Comcast Xfinity through a Google Chromecast. Reception was oustanding IMO. Getting ready to start up with them again in a few weeks for the 2019 CFB season, despite the 20% fee increase from $40 to $49.95 monthly.

Good you mentioned it. I thought there’s no way I watched ANY movie ten times. But Jaws is so much a July 4 tradition for me I that it just doesn’t seem like a movie. It’s such an integral part of the holiday itself.

Sorry for the double post.

I only watch CFB regular…

I only watch CFB regular season games. I follow the results of some of the other UM sports (mostly MBB, hockey, baseball and softball), but don’t want to devote too much boob tube time actually watching. For CFB, I just manually enter the UM schedule into my iPhone calendar app. Works for me.

I cut the cable about 7…

I cut the cable about 7 years ago because of cost, excess commercials, and DirectTV doesn’t work worth a shit when it rains. I only stream sports during the CFB regular season, plus I watch some of the MLB playoffs and the World Series. Have a Roku 4K TV, but last year streamed YouTube TV through a Chromecast. Picture quality was excellent, as was the sports channel selection carried. Will probably go that route again this year, despite the 20% monthly cost increase of YTTV (now $49.99 per).
