| 7 weeks 2 hours ago | Billy Donovan's "reaction" to Nik threes |
My favorite is how Deja vu Nik's threes are as evidenced by watching Billy Donovan in each gif. You could CGI him in any one of them into basically every other and it wouldn't change anything, it's eerie, and gives me the lolwut happy chuckle. |

Lived there for a year while my future wife lived went to Kenyon College. My favorite parts of Columbus were the indoor farmers market, northstar cafe, and the Easton mall. |

Did the ball get swapped for a greased pig tonight? |

I think Wisconsin is going for the fewest possessions possible in a game. No made basket and lots and lots of rebounds. |

Our Big Ten fate is in our hands again, got to like that. I know it's probably asking way too much, but I'd love for Wisconsin to go down tonight too; on a full court shot. |

| 14 weeks 4 hours ago | Thank You |
Dear Brian, Thank you for this. In combination with the diary about being a Kansas basketball fan I feel a lot better. Not any less sad about what happened, but successfully set expectations at a more realistic level. The humor was much needed. Just wanted to pass along a thanks for your efforts. |

Found a link to some classic Gus Johnson sayings: http://www.gusjohnsongetsbuckets.com/ It seems like he could be good, as long as he has a good analyst with him. It seems like Gus could do a pretty good Dennis Bergkamp recreation too. |

Nice to be back in the running. Watching the run in the NCAA tourney two years ago was great, hope we can repeat! |
| 1 year 11 weeks ago | Oh Yeah! (& PhD issue) |
This is in no way meant to invalidate awesomeness or how long that game took to end. But as a PhD student, my PhD still feels longer and I don't think this is a comment on my level of Michigan fandom. PhD's just feel like forevarrrrr. Go Blue! |

| 1 year 28 weeks ago | Robinson down on fumble? |
Apparently I'm wrong because I haven't seen it anywhere else, but if you put the ball on the ground while still controlling it, aren't you down? That's what I saw on the fumble when Denard was trying to get away from the defender in the first half, which would have made it fourth down rather than Iowa ball. Am I wrong about the rule, or did the ball come out first? |

This must be what Hoke was looking at when he double pointed and made the I be like dang face.
[Edit: Sorry I missed that was already posted in my rapid scrolling. Does a double double point make it better?] |

Not a complaint, I love the UFRs!, but I would find this helpful as well. |
| 1 year 36 weeks ago | Human history |
Does the win % graph remind anyone else of the trajectory of human history where you have to zoom in on the last little tiny bit of the time line to see recorded history? 58:47 minutes go by, but all the last 1:12 is what we all will remember. |
| 1 year 37 weeks ago | I like your review |
I had basically the same take you did. Too bad the game was called before we could gain anymore insight on the offense. It seemed like the offense was starting to really get rolling, but another quarter to find out would have been nice (although I totally understand the decision, I just wanted more football). I thought the blitzing was effective (duh), but I'm curious if we could have gotten any 3 plays and punts without bringing the pressure? Looking forward to ND. |
| 1 year 37 weeks ago | Love the re-dub |
I think I'm going to spend the rest of the day thinking about that run and saying to myself, "denard robinson Denard Robinson DENARD ROBINSON in open space DENARD!! ROBINSON!! TOUCHDOWN DENARD ROBINSON" [EDIT: Had to watch in again. Forgot the "... OOAAAHHHHH Denard Robinson" at the end. |

| 1 year 38 weeks ago | VT hurricanes |
The last time a hurricane hit VT I was at a pre 7th grade sleep a way camp. None of us knew it was coming, so listening to howling wind all night and find giant old oak limbs strewn amongst the cabin made our trip. I'm kind of hoping this will be an equally exciting in Vermont. I had been planning a camping trip to Acadia this weekend. Per the bucketlist thing I kind of wanted to rent a kayak see if I could catch some surf. The wife decided we should cancel due partly to her fear of that being my last bucketlist entry, and partly to the idea of potentially finding ourselves in shreaded canvas in a downpour. |
| 1 year 38 weeks ago | The visuals are awesome. |
The visuals are awesome. Being of the generation that liked some songs of this style I didn't think the music was horrible, but it also wasn't great, and the lyrics could use some major improvement. I like the "In the BIG HOUSE" line, but the hail courus is aweful in my opinion. As per most recent discussion on the blog I think having the band and singing fans would make for much better audio. |

ESPN3 has a fair number of games on it. You could start out watching games there and see which teams and league peak your interest the most. Welcome to the international soccer world! |

Does RB ego leading to success on the field? if so, could FJ be trying to up the confidence of this backs? Either way it's fun to imagine our backs running like FJ says they can. |
| 1 year 39 weeks ago | I agree with your take on Myth 4. |
First off, great work Mathlete. I see two conclusions from your graph relating to Myth 4. The first is that teams that run there QB 100+ times a season have a higher offensive value than teams that run 100 or fewer times over the course of a season. This conclusion is based on the y values associated with each of the three classes. The second is that at the very end of the season (say week ~9-11 onward) the teams that run 100+ times see a decline in there offensive value relative to early in the season and teams that run 100 or fewer times see a slight increase. This conclusion is based on the slope of the three classes and is what addresses your stated myth, that offensive value decreases over time. You concluded that the myth is busted, but the slope (at least at the end of the season) doesn't bear this out visually. Currently I would say that Myth 4 is inconclusive. If you fit a line through each class like with the graphs associated with the other myth and there is no meaningful difference between the slopes I would then say that Myth 4 is busted. Otherwise excellent analysis and interesting results. And regardless it still appears QB running more is better, just not as much better at the end of the season and in bowls. |
