Freshman jersey numbers + updated heights/weights!
Per Zach Shaw on 247, the freshmen have jersey numbers as well as updated heights/weights. The entire roster is about to be updated with heights and weights soon as well along with the slew of jersey number changes. Giles Jackson is gonna be #0 on offense this year and I wouldn't be surprised to see Chris Evans lose #12 as punishment ala Grant Perry going to #88 in 2017.
Now, the moment you've all been waiting for-

Looks like quarantine affected them the same way it did most of us.
I'd like to see an MGoBlog roster like this over the past five months.

notetoself: +11 lbs
All weight changes are good
Staying the same weight: bad
Gaining 20lbs then losing 20lbs: good
NotADuck: -20/-30lbs (simply because I don't know if I was closer to 370 or 380 when I started).
I've finally been taking my weight seriously this year. I have proper motivation now.
I took the idea of the “Covid -19” literally as in I should lose 19 pounds. Happy to say I hit that in early June and continued the trend... Down a solid 30 at this point.
WFH has allowed me to better manage my diet and get more exercise breaks during the day.
I’m feeling better and enjoying being active. Thankfully something good has come of this mess.
Very happy to see Jenkins and Persi gaining weight. We all know Jenkin's needs to beef up for DT and most of us read Brian's post about it. It's nice to see it working out. Persi is another one of the Frey-type Tackles that needed to beef up too and its nice to see him already over 300. Hopefully the old saying holds true and all weight is good weight for both of those guys.
Osman Savage though... is that too heavy? Serious question. I am not familiar with linebacker playing weight. Seems heavy for a 6'1" linebacker to me.
RJ Moten is already at playing weight and William Mohan is getting close. In fact a lot of guys are pretty close to where they need to be already. Here's hoping the coaches can help them with the mental side of the game!
I don't know enough about Savage, but maybe he can grow into the Uche role?
Weight changes from their 247 profiles?
Uhh Zinter?
This is slightly off topic, but is anyone else besides me, concerned is the amount of interior OL we get and hardly get OTs? I mean, our two starters were picked by Frey....after them, Warriner is taking it seems too many interiors guys vs OTs. The true OT he has gotten so far is Keegan, Persi, and next year Bounds ElHadi and Zinter are spoken as interior guys, along with all the others.
The true tackles we have recruited are Trevor Keegan, Trente Jones, Jeffrey Persi, and Tristan Bounds. In addition to that, Giovanni El Hadi, Zak Zinter, Karsen Barnhart, and Jack Stewart can all bounce outside if needed. That’s 4 true tackles and 8 potential tackles for two spots. Not to mention that it’s unlikely that any of these players will end up playing early because of current depth. So no it should not be a concern.

Very imperceptive. Rich Rod and Brady Hoke had that problem but not Jim Harbaugh since Ed Warinner.

You'd ideally like a 3 deep, so maybe 6-7 OT on the roster. This coming year you have 5 on the roster plus Stueber, Barnhart, Stewart, and Honigford which are swing guys, I guess count them 0.25 OT each and then you get to 6.
Next year you lose somewhere between 0 and 3, with the most likely being 1. Bring in 1 OT and 1 swing guy in El Hadi. So you're basically in the same position, with 5 true OTs and like 5 guys you could kick out in an emergency.
I guess maybe you could say 1 more OT between 2020/2021 would have been optimal. Seems like a minor nit though. In the doomsday scenario where Mayfield and Hayes go pro and you get one random transfer, you'd still be able to field a solid 2 deep.
persi is a big boy
Be that as it may, look at OSU,have three massive OT coming in vs our 1...and one is from Mi too.
The ones that don't work out they kick inside. We have to get back to this.
Your last statement there is exactly what Michigan is doing along the o-line actually. Hell, two of the front runners for the guard spots this year are converted tackles (Stueber, Filiaga).
Also, massive true freshman OT's is not always exactly what you want either. It's been said and validated before, it's better to put the weight on a tackle when he shows up through strength and conditioning rather than take it off of them when the arrive.
Given that is requires the most athleticism among offensive linemen to play, that makes pretty logical sense.
Zinter is a bigger boy
All 334 pounds of him. Wow.
EDIT: I just googled pictures of him for fun. He’s remarkably trim looking for that weight.
Congratulations Mr. Zinter. You are the fattest boy at camp.
Great movie so long as you fast forward to Ben Stiller showing up.
Where is Perkisize Me when you need him?
Andre Seldon will be starting by week 5, if we make it that far in a season.
Grow your own Kris Jenkins is off to a great start!
First thing I scrolled down to!
Hopefully, he's more of a team player than Leeeerrrooooy was.
Underrated.
Green-Warren making a bid to merge into one person with Donovan Warren in my memory 15 years from now.
He was slow as it was...I was shocked to see he's +15 and only 180.
I thought that was going to put him over 200 and into safety territory.
New phone book!!!
McGregor is injured but he will struggle to get much bigger. Not sure if that's an issue yet or not.
I'm intrigued by this comment. He's listed at 260 pounds. I'm not sure how much heavier you would expect him to get. Hutchinson is listed at 278 pounds, but he's also 6'6". I'm expecting McGregor to peak (in college) around 270 pounds, which is plenty big enough for a 6'5" defensive end.
As I said, not sure if it’s an issue yet or not. I guess you assume he will have strength and speed to play end in this D. I’m not convinced yet. He is quick enough but not elite. If he added weight, inside might be a better fit.
5'8" 200# of fury you cannot catch or get a bead on-can't wait to see him in action.
Happy that Henning got the #3. Can't wait to see his speed on display.
Bad sign for Christian Turner?:(
I kinda liked him in #41 like Alvin Kamara.
William Mohan should have an "X" instead of a number. No, not the Roman numeral; the letter X. You don't need an explanation.
Then changed to Z.
Green-Warren and Moten battling it out for #6. There can be only one...
Going to be an interesting training camp battle. I think Moten wins out, and DGW redshirts and switches his # next year.

Right because there's also a new NCAA rule change that only two players can be assigned the same number.
So we can't have four #3s anymore.
So much for Persi being a skinny Frey type OT who needs to put weight on.
His scouting was all about his quickness. If he already added the weight that’s excellent news. Now it’s about teaching technique and molding the weight gain.
When does the whole roster update come out?
It was up today for 30 minutes and then it was pulled because not all players were updated. I talked to Shaw on twitter and he told me this.
Ok, thanks
should have gotten a screen shot.
For freshmen, these weights are good to see. Persi already at 302 is a great sign. Think he's going to be a player. Jenkins at 265 is solid and a lot of other guys are already pretty close to playing potential playing weight
Lots of college ready size including Corum, Moten, DGW, McGregor, Wheeler, and Morant (assuming the o-line needs reshaping)
