Williams would be good. I would opt for a great DE over him though so I hope they go for Clelin Ferrell. Either way first 2 picks should be defense for sure. They can get a decent TE/WR in Round 3 onwards.

01/18/2019 - 1:53pm Do D-line coaches normally…

Do D-line coaches normally make more than other defensive assistants? I would think Campanile would make more than Nua since he has had more history of success

01/16/2019 - 8:34pm They will always have good…

They will always have good teams but damn, Saban must be considering retiring soon. This must be exhausting for him.

01/16/2019 - 8:32pm Agreed. I'm not a fan of the…

Agreed. I'm not a fan of the ND scheduling or the fact that MSU/OSU are away in the same year. But overall, I don't hear about Warde much and that's exactly how it should be.

01/16/2019 - 1:31pm Problem is that Hurts can't…

Problem is that Hurts can't throw as well as Murray or Mayfield. Unless Oklahoma's scheme is super simple to learn and Riley really is a crazy QB whisperer

01/16/2019 - 1:24pm Seems like they have changed…

Seems like they have changed. You can see the difference if you click on rank history and see if there was any movement. The most recent update is from yesterday/today

01/16/2019 - 12:34pm Cornelius Johnson also moved…

Cornelius Johnson also moved up significantly. He wasn't ranked nationally on Rivals before and was a 3 star for them and #69 WR. You can see that if you go to their position breakdown which doesn't update until tomorrow or Friday. This is a big jump for him.

01/16/2019 - 12:38am Guess it makes sense since…

Guess it makes sense since Hurts may grad transfer there, play for one year (while Martell sits out), and then Martell can take over.

01/15/2019 - 5:49pm What a piece of human garbage

What a piece of human garbage

01/15/2019 - 5:48pm Magnus did say depending on…

Magnus did say depending on your definition of success. Smith was a good back. But he didn't take over the game even in the way that Higdon did last year. And 750 yards is pretty good. But we make a big deal about getting a 1000 yard season for a reason.

01/15/2019 - 4:28pm Lots of instate offers going…

Lots of instate offers going out today I guess. I really want a Kobe on Michigan's team.

01/15/2019 - 4:27pm I think he can definitely a…

I think he can definitely a good running book at Michigan. He doesn't have breakaway speed but with all the shifty guys we've been recruiting, it'd be good to get some big decisive runners in between the tackles too. Charbonnet is obviously a big back as well but he seems to also possess breakaway speed.

01/14/2019 - 1:59pm Getting Campanile helps a…

Getting Campanile helps a lot. But PSU has made major headway into that state and is the biggest Power 5 school that's close to the state. Even OSU has gotten their fair share in the last couple years, though I'm not sure if that is due to Schiano or not. I think PSU will be the team to beat in NJ, with some elite level talent looking at Clemson, Bama, OSU as well. ND also has a decent number of recruits to come from NJ.

01/14/2019 - 1:57pm NJ tends to have more elite…

NJ tends to have more elite level talent (at least 247 rating wise), but Michigan has more 4 stars in general.

01/12/2019 - 8:59pm How is he compared to Trey…

How is he compared to Trey Leroux? He’s another 6’8 tackle from Ohio that has visited Michigan a couple times and he has a couple power 5 offers from Kentucky, Purdue, and West Virginia

01/11/2019 - 10:47pm I think so. I believe his…

I think so. I believe his kids attend St. Francis

01/11/2019 - 4:28pm Probably gives more time to…

Probably gives more time to Justin Shorter. They've recruited well the last couple years.

01/11/2019 - 4:08pm According to Seldon,…

According to Seldon, Michigan has work to do for Paige who may be looking at other schools. Michigan does look good for Williams and Mullings though Mullings may be a competition with ND. Williams seems to be a strong lean towards Michigan.

QB: Got JD Johnson who will probably rise in rankings and trying to get Jay Butterfield or Parker McQuarrie as the other one in the class

RB: Michael Drennen, Jutahn McClain, Tirek Murphy, Lawrence Toafili, Sam Adams are the top names. Bijan Robinson is the long shot.

WR: Julian Fleming and Johnny Wilson are long shots. Kalil Branham committed. Otherwise theres interest in Williams, Josh Downs, Michael Redding, Mike Wyman, Elijah Badger, Traeshon Holden, Jaden Dottin, Devell Washington, Ian Stewart

TE: Patterson committed. Shooting for one of Ungar, Mark Redman, Theo Johnson, or Maliq Carr. Maybe flip Mayer from ND

OT: Try to flip Myles from Stanford. Otherwise associated with Zak Zinter, Kevin Pyne (probs to ND), Anton Harrison (probs to PSU), Andrew Gentry, Miller Merriwheather Lewis, Michael Carmody, Tosh Baker, and Seth McLaughlin

OG: Justing Rogers (looking to play down south and immediately as freshman), Andrew Raym, Geirean Hatchett

WDE: Bryce Mostella

SDE: Longshot for Bryan Bresee and Darrion Henry, likely for Braiden McGregor

DT: Cole Brevard, Jeffrey M'Ba

ILB: Cornell Wheeler committed. Ethan West leaning towards Michigan

OLB: Kalel Mullings, Osman Savage, Jaheim Thomas, Deamonte Trayanum (he wants to play RB though)

CB: Seldon committed. Myles Slusher, Joshua Moten. Longshot is Dwight McGlothern right now

S: Lathan Ransom, Makari Paige, Jordan Morant

ATH: Mookie Cooper, Cameron Martinez, Daniyel Ngata for RB/WR. Enzo Jennings for S/CB/WR.

01/10/2019 - 6:07pm Partridge has made inroads…

Partridge has made inroads with other schools now. He's become an ace recruiter in Georgia. You could actually argue that Partridge doesn't have much of a factor in NJ since we haven't got anyone from there in the last 2 years. Campanile could get us back in that market if he were to come here.

01/10/2019 - 5:56pm That makes the most sense…

That makes the most sense. Partridge is a hell of a coach. The safeties this year were significantly better so I'd be happy to have him as a LB/Viper again. I wonder if Bush Sr. is also getting interviewed for the safety coach position or if he needs more experience working someplace else first

01/09/2019 - 10:13am I was pretty impressed with…

I was pretty impressed with Kentucky's Defense this year. I'd be pretty interested if Michigan went after their D-line coach, Derrick LeBlanc.

01/09/2019 - 10:12am At this point, I've just…

At this point, I've just assumed that Partridge is being groomed to take over as the next DC at Michigan. Ideally, he learns under Brown for a couple more years before taking over, but that seems to be the next leap for him.

01/09/2019 - 10:05am From Kliff Kingsbury to be…

From Kliff Kingsbury to be precise

01/09/2019 - 10:04am Sam said it was because…

Sam said it was because Michigan wouldn't pay him more to stay at Michigan.

01/09/2019 - 10:03am Montgomery would be a solid…

Montgomery would be a solid hire. Great recruiter and high level coach. I would be worried about how long he would remain in Ann Arbor because it seems like he wants to keep moving up the ranks and the NFL/DC position could come calling.

01/08/2019 - 3:58pm I think the bottom line is…

I think the bottom line is that it's just not necessary. In terms of playmakers, Michigan has good WRs on the roster and Hill would be better off focusing on just being a great safety.

01/08/2019 - 3:57pm Agreed. Solomon and…

Agreed. Solomon and Velazquez at Viper. Quinten at SS, Hill at FS.

01/08/2019 - 3:56pm Unless he's had a major…

Unless he's had a major growth spurt, he's definitely a guard

01/08/2019 - 11:25am I know it’s a business…

I know it’s a business decision but seems crazy that these coaches aren’t seing at how traitorous this looks. I don’t care if coaches leave for other positions but to OSU? Just crazy.

If Washington is leaving then I’d be surprised if Brown stays as well. I wonder if these departures would allow some of our recruits to opt out of their NLIs. I believe the new rules allow for that if your coach leaves. Or that may be just for head coach.

01/07/2019 - 1:39pm Wow

Wow

01/07/2019 - 10:31am Really excited that both…

Really excited that both Hinton and Smith performed well in this setting considering that both of them will have to be in the 3-deep. Hinton might be able to regain his 5th star.

A line of Jones-Barnhart-Rumler-Carpenter-Keegan will be imposing to say the least. Stewart might surprise us in a Spanellis sort of way and always be in consideration as the 6th man available. Right now, I think that we have some really good future guards in Filiaga, Spanellis, Honingford, Barnhart, Rumler, and Carpenter. If Mayfield and Steuber pan out, that would give enough time for Warriner to get Hayes, Jones, and Keegan up to speed and Michigan can start imposing their will through the o-line.

01/07/2019 - 8:24am Brown deserves a pay raise…

Brown deserves a pay raise. Good DC's are getting paid around the 2mil range now Brown at least deserves to be in the 1.8 range. He also deserves the chance fix what happened with OSU and Florida.

01/03/2019 - 9:53am In that split, I'd like to…

In that split, I'd like to see Evans less (because I think he's a better pass catcher/space runner than between the tackles back) and more Shea runs. I think we see a Turner/Charbonnet rotation until one clearly emerges as the better option and probably more Tru because he presumably he will be the best blocking back. Mason in goal line runs is fine, though he needs tuning as well since defenses have started to key in on him being just that and have managed to stop 3rd and 1s and 4th and 1s.

01/03/2019 - 8:55am Since you narrowed it down…

Since you narrowed it down to college football, probably Clemson, Oklahoma, or Bama. Those systems relied on the pass to open up run game down the middle and I think thats what we need. I always thought OSU was too pass heavy this year. Of course with Haskins as your QB thats not a negative.

Our ideal offense probably looks something like the Rams offense though. Downfield throws with a punishing ground game.

01/03/2019 - 5:53am I don't think this means…

I don't think this means they're aiming for more pro style QBs. It really just emphasizes OSU's transition to Air Raid offense. They're modernizing their offense which means they'll be that much harder to deal with. I think Don Brown will have to think of some new wrinkles to take care of what OSU is shelling out. Maybe look into playing zone more often.

01/02/2019 - 12:38pm I can see Eubanks becoming…

I can see Eubanks becoming heavily involved next year. He's a good pass catcher with some good speed, and he seems to have really bought into the blocking aspect of being a TE. He was always a boom or bust prospect and I really hope he booms big time next year.

01/02/2019 - 12:35pm I like our TE group, but I…

I like our TE group, but I would love for Michigan to pursue Luke Ford as a possible transfer. There is much speculation that he will be leaving Georgia to play in front of family and since he's from Illinois, Michigan could be a close place for him to do just that.

12/29/2018 - 12:05am Assuming that we take no one…

Assuming that we take no one else in 19-20 and that Iggy and Poole go pro by the time class of 2020 comes around, we should have room for 2 more prospects (besides Zeb who is already committed). I hope one of them is Walker Kessler for sure. Johnson looks like a good option as someone who can play 3-4

12/29/2018 - 12:02am Does he have an offer yet?

Does he have an offer yet?

12/28/2018 - 11:59pm There are always late…

There are always late bloomers. Butler seems like that kind of kid who figured out how to use his body once he got into college.

12/23/2018 - 3:11pm Jeter was also making noise…

Jeter was also making noise in his freshman season and was sidelined due to injuries/low weight. If he stays healthy, he can be very good DT

12/23/2018 - 9:47am Houston is also not a very…

Houston is also not a very good team. But that's a tough non-conference opponent to deal with.

It's crazy how amazing Meyer's recruiting classes were

12/21/2018 - 11:21pm Maybe a DE then?

Maybe a DE then?

12/21/2018 - 4:19pm The narrative will die down…

The narrative will die down soon. Remember in the early years of Saban, when every offseason was basically waiting for Saban to jump ship to NFL? Nobody really talks about that anymore and any thought about that is basically laughed off. The same will happen for Harbaugh as long as he doesn't show any interest in an NFL job

12/20/2018 - 10:25am LB/FB makes sense, though I…

LB/FB makes sense, though I think his best position will end up as FB. We have good LBs on the roster, and I don't think Pesek-Hickson has the speed to match up with his peers. He also has a huge learning curve at the LB spot, but I think time spent as a LB could help him become a great FB. He would know better how to diagnose and pick up blocks, and he already shows good hands out of the backfield to be a threat in that part of his game.

12/19/2018 - 5:14pm Quinten Johnson has…

Quinten Johnson has supposedly already sent in his LOI but announcing officially in February. Peseck-Hickson wants to wait to sign with his friends I believe.

12/19/2018 - 12:56pm You're forgetting about…

You're forgetting about Dantonio's Intergalactic recruiting!

But in all seriousness, I think Michigan's method of targeting top players in the region, while also reaching out to big players out of state is huge. It's a mark of the coaches different backgrounds and their ability to form relationships with high schoolers around the country. It's basically what Urban and Saban do as well - ensuring that local talent bring the understanding of the rivalries, and infuse it into the blood of out of region athletes

12/19/2018 - 11:47am Peseck-Hickson will be…

Peseck-Hickson will be signing in February

12/19/2018 - 11:47am Didn't realize we have so…

Didn't realize we have so many Johnsons in our class

Also the answer to your question is George. It's on his twitter. No word on when Quinten Johnson will sign.
