So I'm guessing the real reason he left was because of the Gentry column.
|10/09/2018 - 11:08am||No, he's just been proven…||
No, he's just been proven wrong and should own up to it. If he's looking for content this week, write something that says, "I never thought Zach Gentry should have been moved to tight end, and I was wrong."
Gee whiz, didn't Scott Frost teach all of us that Michigan fans never forget?
|10/09/2018 - 10:54am||Exactly!||
|10/03/2018 - 2:11pm||This is literally the best…||
This is literally the best thing that's ever been on MGoBlog.
Everybody on this blog needs to shut it down and find other jobs, because none of you will ever do anything in the future that will ever measure up to these standards.

Oh! Dax the way - uh-huh, uh-huh, I like it!
Welcome, young man! Go Blue!
|09/18/2018 - 11:22am||No. He made it personal back…||
No. He made it personal back in 1997, so we must make it personal anytime we face him.
|09/12/2018 - 8:05am||How are they going to score…||
How are they going to score the 9 points? They get close enough three times to kick field goals? They score a field goal and a touchdown, and then they're stopped when they go for two? Or three safeties and a field goal?
|09/10/2018 - 12:13pm||Yeah, this is a pretty bad…||
Yeah, this is a pretty bad week for college football.
So is next week. Michigan-Nebraska is one of the more intriguing games.
|08/27/2018 - 10:52pm||I'm really glad I just…||
I'm really glad I just watched that with my 5-year-old, my grandmother and a couple of nuns who just stopped over.
KIDDING! That was [email protected] great, man.

So this is Brian's version of a hype video.
|08/26/2018 - 9:46pm||Went to the open practice…||
Went to the open practice and spent most of my time watching the quarterbacks. For whatever you can glean from watching guys throw footballs to open receivers while they're not being rushed, here's my take. (And this echoes some of what's been said here.):
Shea Patterson - Looked great; almost flawless. There was a drill where they were throwing the ball maybe 40 yards downfield, and he hit every receiver perfectly in stride. He was the only QB who did that. Throws a beautiful ball. Quick release, and you can just tell (even in these drills) that he's in control. Even running around in the imaginary pocket, he looked fast. Clearly looked like the best guy.
Brandon Peters - Seems to have gotten stronger and by his body language, looks more confident. Seems to have a little quicker release. Looked really good.
Dylan McCaffrey - Obviously much bigger and stronger than he was last year. From these drills, it was hard to tell whether he or Brandon is doing better. Was especially impressive with the long throws. He appears to have a genuine cannon. I can't believe there are many third-string quarterbacks in the country better than this.
Joe Milton - As others have said, not that impressive. Seemed to have almost a lackadaisical throwing motion, and underthrew a few guys. Let's hope that redshirt doesn't need to be burned.
Everybody Else - Hard workers, and that was obvious.

Ah, the big dune at Sleeping Bear! No better view anywhere. How long did it take you to climb back up?

Man, I can't wait to see Iggy pop 'em in at Crisler. (You're all free to steal that.)

Get well, coach! Bo kicked a lot of ass in the Big Ten after his heart surgeries, so I'm expecting more of the same here.
|08/02/2018 - 1:44pm||Yes, as others have pointed…||
Yes, as others have pointed out, this is EXACTLY where we were ranked in the 1997 preseason poll. Notre Dame was also ranked No. 11 in the 1997 preseason poll. EERIE!
Actually, we were 14 in the AP and 13 in the coaches. Here's the link to all the week-by-week polls from that season. LINK.

They're already speculating on NJ.com that Greg Schiano will take over from Urb. Link.
|08/01/2018 - 10:32am||Can't wait to see that kid…||
Can't wait to see that kid in a game. All's I know is that I like Patterson/Peters/McCaffrey/Milton as our QB options more than the options we've had in Jimmy's first three years here.
|07/18/2018 - 3:52pm||Man, I love the U-M Glee…||
Man, I love the U-M Glee Club's singing. OK, here's what I found online for the FULL lyrics of "The Victors." I assume this is what they're singing!
Now for a cheer they are here, triumphant!
Far we their praises sing
Hail! to the victors valiant
We cheer them again
Hail! to the victors valiant

A commit from Aurora, Illinois? As Wayne and Garth would say, "Excellent!"

"This podcast is not and does not constitute an endorsement of the candidate."
Oh, man. That's the funniest thing I've read on this blog in a long time.

Mike Hammerstein and Sam Sword. Best football names we've ever had.
|06/27/2018 - 11:35pm||DJ Carton sounds like the…||
DJ Carton sounds like the name of a really clean rapper who promotes drinking milk. If Harbaugh were a rapper, he'd be DJ Carton.
|06/12/2018 - 12:16pm||Willis Ward was a three-year…||
Willis Ward was a three-year started at end, he won two national championships and was the fastest man on the planet - and he's not even honorable mention? For shame!
|06/11/2018 - 11:39am||Thanks for the post, WD. We…||
Thanks for the post, WD. We are the leaders and best, and we crush it in the Olympic sports.
We know what they've done in football and basketball, but it's also interesting to see how bad Michigan State is in almost every sport. They aren't just mediocre - they're at or near the bottom of the B1G in almost every sport. Before his fall from grace, Mark Hollis was seen as this brilliant AD, but I think that was all based on deciding to hold a basketball game on a battleship. Never mind his ethics; he did a crap job of running a winning program.
|05/29/2018 - 12:40pm||Doesn't count||
According to Wikipedia, he was cut early in the season, so he didn't earn a ring.
|05/16/2018 - 5:07pm||OK...||
Drew Henson should have started ahead of Tom Brady. Even I know I'm an idiot, but I can't get this one out of my head.
|05/02/2018 - 10:59am||Bursley||
Yes, as the blog spokesperson for Bursley Hall, I can attest that you are the first person in the history of the world to request North Campus as your first choice. My choices (in order) were West Quad, South Quad and Markley. I got sent to Bursley.
That said, I loved the North Campus lifestyle. Waaaaay back then, we had our own parking lot, and you could park your car there for free. I doubt that's still the case. The bus was a pain, but you got used to it, and I loved having the NCRB right across the street.
Study-wise, there were less distractions, so that probably helped. Once I came back to the dorm after classes, I didn't have a lot of options, so I probably got more done.
Bottom line: Totally different vibe and lifestyle on North Campus, but there are a lot of benefits to it.
|04/27/2018 - 5:08pm||Worst press release ever||
With the best ending. Had to scroll all the way through it to get to the good part.
Don't let attorneys write press releases!
|04/23/2018 - 11:33pm||Yes!||
Best damn shirt ever.
|04/17/2018 - 1:05pm||Yes!||
I approve this project!
|04/14/2018 - 1:43pm||He did not reach his potential here.||
He exceeded it, both individually and as a team, like perhaps no one ever has. Has Michigan basketball had a team and player that overachieved as much as this one?
|04/09/2018 - 8:07pm||What's absurd?||
Howard Yerges seems like a pretty big omission in the top 10, but the others seem pretty solid. What's absurd about the list? What's your top 10?
|04/06/2018 - 2:30pm||Right||
Didn't mean to equate the two circumstances at all - just that Georgia Tech isn't making friends in Michigan.
|03/31/2018 - 2:53pm||Tattoos||
Man, Trey has picked up a lot of ink since 2013. Looks sweet.
|03/26/2018 - 6:28pm||Jack and Joan||
Joan Wilder: I need to get to Cartagena.
Jack T. Colton: Cartagena? Angel, you are hell and gone from Cartagena. Cartagena's over there on the coast.
Joan Wilder: But they told me this bus...
Jack T. Colton: Who told you that? Who told you this bus was going to Cartagena?
Joan Wilder: That man...
Jack T. Colton: That nice man who pulled a gun on you? What else did he tell you?
|03/26/2018 - 12:50pm||Hey, Sister Jean||
You need to listen to your elders!
|03/22/2018 - 11:30pm||The comparison||
Rick Pitino - hookers, blow and other guy's wives for 15 seconds
John Beilein - turkey sandwiches
|03/22/2018 - 11:28pm||It'd be kinda sweet||
If teams from Michigan won both the D1 and D2 championships, eh?
|03/22/2018 - 11:53am||Especially if Speight comes back||
Half our team was wearing No. 3 last year. I think it's good if Rashan wants to switch. (Because yes, I kept getting Rashan and Quinn Nordin mixed up.)
|03/20/2018 - 8:02pm||Uh||
That's what she said.
|03/20/2018 - 7:32pm||Man...||
That was a great episode.
|03/19/2018 - 6:37pm||Man, that's the best||
I love that we had a pair of 260-pound offensive tackles.
|03/18/2018 - 9:25pm||This is the second-best news I've heard all day||
Keep that overrated dinosaur around for another 10 years, please.
|03/18/2018 - 9:02pm||Thanks for the preview||
Shame on me, but I hadn't thought two seconds about these guys. I thought for sure we'd be playing North Carolina. I guess North Carolina got caught looking ahead, too. Looks like we match up well.

The Canham Natatorium is now the Jordan Poole.
|03/16/2018 - 10:50pm||Offer list||
I like taking guys away from Alabama, USC, Notre Dame and Georgia.
|03/12/2018 - 6:06pm||Fire up, Chips!||
Speaking of meaningless post-season basketball, the State of Michigan is already 1-0! CMU beat Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne this afternoon in the opening round of the CIT, 94-89:
EMU is also in this tournament. I'm so excited, I can't stand it.
|03/12/2018 - 5:57pm||Yeah||
That's what I'm thinking. They're going to come out there with all the enthusiasm of a Brady Hoke Spring Game.
