I was pretty disappointed in the lack of beautiful women in Peru actually. But everything else was awesome.

07/10/2018 - 7:42pm You make good points but…

You make good points but these are 2 point conversions. It's nothing like a pitcher using a slider and fastball to complement one another. 2 point fades aren't setting up anything.

If you don't think coaches routinely call suboptimal plays then how do you explain the lack of 4th down attempts?

Of course we'd like randomized, controlled studies but that doesn't mean the information is entirely useless. We know QB stats are influenced greatly by the team around them, but they're still worth something. We can evaluate why fades and rollouts are less effective simply by looking at the play. Brian has been bagging on the rollout for years. He had a big row with Space Coyote over it. He gave a compelling argument about why he thinks it's less effective simply based on play design. As someone else said, fades require highly precise throws and timing.

You make it sound like losing to ND will make Michigan more likely to go undefeated the rest of the year ...

I live in Seoul

Pros:

- best public transportation system in the world

- pretty cheap for a wealthy city of 10 million people

- mountains here aren't huge but it's really the only thing missing from Michigan in my opinion

- being a foreigner is an advantage sometimes

Cons:

- air pollution is bad and getting worse, easily the worst thing here now

- time difference is awful for watching sports, sucks when Michigan starts at 1 or 2am or 430 or 530am (depending on DST)

- now that I don't go out as much being mid 30's I'd prefer not to live in such a big crowded city

- being a foreigner is a disadvantage sometimes

You probably should have googled this before talking about how devastated your kid is because Harbaugh ... followed NCAA rules.

What has been newsworthy besides recruiting? There have been a ton of hello posts so I think recruiting is covered pretty well there.

Not sure if that's insider info so much as a good guess. Any QB being passed over by younger guys is a flight risk.

Anyone know where I can listen online now? Their site sucks. I saw The Michigan Insider portion of Podbean but don't see anything about Webber on there.

It is poorly phrased. Don't see how it's clickbait though.

Well I think being the academic institution that it is, it puts a ceiling on teams like NW. Or at least makes it that much harder to win. But I also think it helps you build a solid program. There are always going to be some players who think academics are as important and they're in that niche market.

I think the OP makes a good point about a lack of interest in the Northeast too. Even if the talent is there, it's going to be hard to keep them around when they don't have a strong pull to that university because no one cares about Rutgers.

Good life advice from Cowherd there. Don't go celebrate with the band and traveling fans on your 3rd TD. In fact you should ridicule anyone who does. What a douche.

Really dude?

06/20/2018 - 10:27pm LOL like no one remembers…

LOL like no one remembers that. I remember it well. This board was unbearable early in the season the last 2 years in basketball and you were the biggest reason why.

Also, I don't follow recruiting a whole lot but I actually don't see what the big deal is. Of course recruiting matters, but the 21st class isn't that bad, and that was with a pretty small haul. 2019 is already looking much better. And we've heard that Drevno's recruiting was a problem and now he's gone. As long as we have a really good year (and I'm pretty optimistic about that), it's fine.

Exactly. I was thinking about Schoenle too. They made it sound like he'd be with the 1's. Then he barely did anything. I think walk on hype is part motivation but also to give a shout out to guys working hard despite not being on scholarship.

Are you from there? I have a friend in Boulder from NJ. He said everyone there hates transplants but are transplants themselves lol

I believe I read NJ actually has the highest average median income in the US. Never been there, but funny how much it gets shit on.

06/13/2018 - 10:26pm Well I wouldn't say…

Well I wouldn't say unnecessary exactly. For a lot of teams just making it is an accomplishment, and I'm sure they want to play as much as they can. But it is true it can throw results for the group. Like when a team that's already made it through rests some stars.

If it was all merit based, it'd just be Mexico's team.

They've already fixed some things. Thankfully when I comment it no longer sends me to the last page after I submit it.

Yet the original term is 'bald faced lie' because somebody had a problem with men that couldn't grow beards?

I'd bet a million dollars that's not the origin. Would guess something like out in the open or exposed.

06/13/2018 - 9:23pm Begging the question is…

Begging the question is almost never used "properly". And that's fine. It actually makes way more sense the way it's usually used nowadays. The origin of the phrase is archaic.

06/10/2018 - 8:02pm Last 2 non fiction books I…

Last 2 non fiction books I've read were Guns, Germs, and Steel, which you probably already know about since it was really popular. Great book. And the Imjin War by Samuel Hawley. About the Japanese invasions of Korea in the 1590s. Also a really good book for an incredibly important war that I'm sure most people don't even know about. It's right after Japan unifies for the first time. The plan was actually to conquer China (and more) by going through Korea. A couple decades after the war they become a closed country until the US rolls up a few hundred years later. It absolutely devastates Korea and gives Korea its most famous military hero by far, Yi Sun Sin. He almost does literally save the country himself because he prevents Japan from taking the seas so Japan's supply routes get overstretched. And China's Ming dynasty was in decline. Cost of the war was a contributing factor to the end of the dynasty.

Well, it sucks now, but I hope they're working on fixing some of the stuff. People have already talked about all the white space. And how it's not that easy to see who is replying to who.

Also, does commenting suck for everyone else because after I submit a comment it takes me to some random place in the comments and I have to go back to the board and to the post just to return it to normal?

I loved Breaking Bad. BUT, I forget where, maybe towards the end of the 1st season or maybe even in the 2nd, it was pretty boring for a few episodes. Making more meth...OK I got it. But how much of it have you actually seen?

My unpopular opinion is that almost all superhero movies suck. Deadpool was good because it was hilarious. Infinity War was pretty good because Thanos was way more complex than I expected.

Well if you saw Brian's Twitter, you'd see a lot of Michigan fans fell for it too. I have no idea how anyone would think that was actually going to be the new site.

I agree also. I had the official app I guess? I think the HD was only for iPhones right? There was a lot you couldn't do but it was so smooth because it was stripped down.

Lol JBB is possibly the starter. He was the starter at the end of spring. He probably can't play somewhere else this year anyway. Some people have some insane ideas on here. And even if you want Hudson to start, losing JBB would be really awful for our depth.

Didn't Seth's recent post show that when Peters was in the share of passes to TEs was much higher?

05/30/2018 - 1:18am Bill Connelly had some sort of "game of the week"

Bill Connelly had some sort of "game of the week" recaps for old games. One was Michigan OSU. I forget when it was, maybe even before Bo Woody. But one sentence stuck out. Something about how the first pass was thrown halfway through the 4th quarter. My how much the game has changed.

But barely cracking 300 yards for our top WR in a west coast offense? Yeesh.

I was thinking, "17 days? What's he talking about?" Oh right. Not being a huge soccer fan, I've heard so little about it with the US out.

05/28/2018 - 4:22am Oregon didn't win because

Oregon didn't win because Michigan was in a funk. Oregon was playing modern football and Michigan wasn't. Michigan was thoroughly outclassed.

05/28/2018 - 4:20am Not like we were guaranteed

Not like we were guaranteed to do better than OSU did against Florida. Although Carr did have that record against the SEC.

05/28/2018 - 4:19am What about Iowa? Michigan

What about Iowa? Michigan still would have been in the playoffs if they beat OSU and win the conference championship game. Would have helped with recruiting now.

You know what they say. The backup to the backup to the backup QB is the most popular guy on the team.

The team probably shouldn't go to China for a spring trip. The air is really polluted around that time. Winter is the worst but April and early May would be really bad too. I live in Korea and it's getting worse here. I'd say it's the worst thing about living here. But it's still much better than the air in China.
