Pretty sure Smigiel is a 26 recruit

Roman had the 6th fastest 40…

Roman had the 6th fastest 40 of all WRs lol. I’m sure Roman was disappointed in his time (we know what his goal was) but saying a 4.39 isn’t exceptional is ridiculous. That’s an elite 40. Overall it wasn’t his best day but he did a lot of great things as well. I’d put it as a B performance. Many of the analysts I’ve heard post combine have had nothing but great things to say about Roman. He had a solid day.

Why would Orji come in the…

Why would Orji come in the game to throw the ball if we have JJ McCarthy? The entire point of his package was to run the football as a change up.

I doubt it, we rotate and…

I doubt it, we rotate and play 3 safety’s a lot so I don’t see that changing. McBurrows is the lead guy to take over Mikey’s role. CB2 on the outside will be a battle between some young talented players. Jyaire Hill, D’Juan Waller and Myles Pollard.

Can we stop acting like…

Can we stop acting like Denegal isn’t on the roster. Everybody just skips over him. He was ranked in the in the same range as Orji and has actually thrown more passes than Orji too for the we haven’t seen Orji throw people.

Raheem has never gotten more…

Raheem has never gotten more PT than Gio so i wouldn’t expect that now. Gio, Crippen, and Priebe will be your interior. Myles will have one of the tackle spots. The favorite for the other right now would be Gentry with Tristan Bounds in the mix as well. Next 3 off the bench would be Raheem, Persi, and Bounds

OL? We have already brought…

OL? We have already brought in one OL transfer already and we have multiple 4th and 5th year guys who have been marinating under Ben Herbert and Sherrone Moore. Time to let this next crop of guys step up.

Bring in 1 transfer and have…

Bring in 1 transfer and have him compete with Orji, Denegal, and Davis and the best guy gets the job. I keep laughing at everybody saying “We haven’t seen Orji or Denegal do anything” that’s kinda what happens when you go to a new starter at QB. The unkown.

None of these guys are 5 stars so bringing in a transfer makes sense, but I wouldn't just hand him the job either. He needs to compete with the guys we have already. Maybe Orji or Denegal surprises us, you never know.

You nailed it lol

You nailed it lol

Hall only got 15 carries so…

Hall only got 15 carries so they could preserve his redshirt. they are trying to spread some of these classes out. Also CJ was hurt for a decent amount of games and by the time he got healthy Mullings had cemented his spot as the RB3. Going to be a very competitive room even if Donovan decides to go pro.

These are all the scholarship backs we could potentially have next year:

1. Donovan Edwards (SR)

2. Kalel Mullings (5th)

3. Benjamin Hall (RS FR)

4. Cole Cabana (RS FR)

5. Jordan Marshall (FR)

6. Tavierre Dunlap (RS JR)

7. Micah Ka’apana (FR) (Probably going to redshirt)

McGregor and Moore both play…

McGregor and Moore both play the strong (field) side Edge. Stewart and Harrell play the weak (boundary) side.

I doubt we get over 32 at…

I doubt we get over 32 at most. Our recruiting board is less than 10 guys right now. The absolute best case scenario at the moment is we add 6 more (WRs Shipp and Bair, OT Bennett, Edge J Smith, CB, Scott, and S Patterson) That would put us at 31 or 30 if you consider Ludwig scholarship or not.

We’re in the mix for some other names but it’s not looking good. I’d guess we get 4 of the guys that I listed above and pluck 1-2 3 stars on signing day.

Tennessee was #10 in the…

Tennessee was #10 in the composite last year with 277 points (which is much higher than most years, #10 is usually between 260-270 points). Michigan is currently at 265 and we still lead for 3-4 more 4 star recruits. We will 100% finish in the top 10 with a small chance at top 5 if we hit on all of our big targets left.

NFL evaluators though Mike…

NFL evaluators though Mike was more of a hand in the dirt 5 tech but Mike really wanted to play Edge in the league. He lost all that weight to workout with the Edge guys at the combine and still tested poorly. He’s just not a very twitchy guy and that’s ok. I’m sure he’ll play closer to 290 in the NFL.

If we need the 6th LB on the…

If we need the 6th LB on the depth chart to play significant snaps this year we’re going to be in trouble regardless lol. Even with NHGs departure there’s still plenty of depth.

We'll be fine at WR. We run…

We'll be fine at WR. We run a bunch of 12 personnel anyway where it will just be Roman, CJ, Loveland, and Barner on the field. Also we have to let guys develop and step up. We can't bring in a transfer every time we have a position that doesn't have an immediate replacement that has had a lot of playing time. Tyler Morris, Darrius Clemons, and AJ Henning were all top 150 players in the country. Lets give them an opportunity to show us what they can do with significant snaps.

Also I don't really agree that CJ and Roman have showed us their ceilings but lets just say they have. We have the 2 best backs in the country , the best offensive line in the country, a top 10 QB in the country, and an upcoming superstar at TE. If our WRs are B tier we will be just fine imo lol.

Maybe AJ, but CJ and Roman…

Maybe AJ, but CJ and Roman are rarely going to come off the field.

23 will probably be slightly…

23 will probably be slightly better depending on good the winner of the center battle is. My only concern is that we don’t lose too much of our depth to the guys who aren’t starters. Hopefully we are able to keep guys like Persi, Atteberry, Crippen, Barnhart/Jones. We’ve reached the point now where we have damn near 10 viable offensive line starters. A good problem to have.

Eventually you have to let…

Eventually you have to let the guys you’ve recruited on your roster compete for spots. You’re not going to have a returning starter or guy with a bunch of experience fill every position every single year. There’s plenty of young defensive back talent on the roster. Let them battle it about in the spring and see who wins the job. We can’t always transfer portal everything.

Against Ohio State lol

Against Ohio State lol

Surprising, but maybe he…

Surprising, but maybe he wants a shot to be the guy somewhere. He rehabilitated his image with us so I’m sure he’ll get some interest in the portal from some power 5s or at Charlotte with Biff. Best of luck to him.

For us, the logjam on the depth chart at OLB/EDGE is starting to clear up with Okie’s transfer and Morris going pro. We’ve got Jaylen Harrell, Braiden McGregor, Derrick Moore, and Coastal Carolina transfer Josiah Scott all in the mix for 2 spots. Sucks that Okie is leaving but we’re still in a very good spot there.

I think the 2 most likely…

I think the 2 most likely outcomes are

X Cornelius Johnson

Z Roman Wilson

Y (Slot) Tyler Morris (with AJ Henning rotating in)

or

X Cornelius Johnson

Z Darrius Clemons

Y Roman Wilson

Roman and Johnson are locked in and we'll see in the spring who steps up out of the Henning, Clemons, Morris, Walker group). Roman has positional flexibility so whoever ends up being the top 3 Roman can move to make it work.

As much as we run the ball…

As much as we run the ball they will be fine. Our backup RBs get more carries than some schools starters. Plenty of touches for both of them. Blake's share of the pie is going to dip some. And the touches that would normally go to Stokes, Mullings etc will dip too. In the end it will be good for both of them because they will be fresh and not beat up by the end of the year.

Apparently hes enrolled in…

Apparently hes enrolled in grad school so I'm expecting him to drop the news that he'll be returning for his 5th year

Sounds about right. If CJ…

Sounds about right. If CJ goes this has to be the lineup. Although i think Morris will take over the slot by the end of the year.

1. JJ McCarthy

2. Donovan…

1. JJ McCarthy

2. Donovan Edwards

3. Junior Colson

4. Will Johnson

5. Roman Wilson

He hasn’t been asked to do…

He hasn’t been asked to do those things on a consistent basis but over the last 3 years he has shown  plays of all the things you listed. I think going into 2023 as the undisputed #1 WR Michigan will need to use him in other ways bedsides go deep and catch this screen.

I like Andrel but the fan based overhyped him based off 1 game and 1 catch. Obviously we expect him to take a step forward next year as a starter but we haven’t seen it yet. Darrius Clemsons is a nice prospect. Henning is a gadget guy based off what we have seen so far. Roman is going to have to be the guy until some other people step up.

Everybody that has been…

Everybody that has been trashing CJ all year don't switch up now

1. Georgia 7-0 (-)
2…

1. Georgia 7-0 (-)
2. Tennessee 6–0 (+4)
3. OSU 6-0 (-1)
4. Michigan 7-0 (+1)
5. Clemson 7-0 (-1)
6. Ole Miss 7-0 (+3)
7. Alabama 6-1 (-4)
8. TCU 6-0 (+5)
9. UCLA 6-0 (+2)
10. USC 6-1 (-3)

This would be how I’d rank it but I’m sure they won’t have Bama drop that far. They will be 5 or 6.

Short answer to your…

Short answer to your question is just time. But there are adjustments made during the game but they are minor fixes by the position coaches. Halftime is nice because the HC will address the team while that's happening the whole coaching staff (OC with his position coaches and the DC with his coaches) meets to figure out the gameplan going forward. When they finish the OC and DC will speak to their side of the ball. Because coordinators have to call plays they don't have time to really do a lot of coaching on the sideline, halftime they get 10 minutes to speak to their guys uninterrupted.

You did the right thing

You did the right thing

I love it

Ronnie Bell and CoJo will be…

Ronnie Bell and CoJo will be leaving after the year. I know its tough but this is what happens at schools like Bama and OSU when you have stacked position groups, guys have to wait their turn. Anthony will be a starting WR next year for us as a true Junior. There's no reason he should leave. If the path to playing time wasn't there I'd agree but I just don't see it.

Do you mind putting snaps…

Do you mind putting snaps played as the first column in the chart so it reads snaps played, +, -, total? Reading it I thought everybody scored in the 30s until I realized it was snaps played and not their score lol

Based off of what? Lol

Based off of what? Lol

I wouldn’t even consider…

I wouldn’t even consider Andrel a starter right now. Johnson and Wilson on the outside and Bell in the slot should be our opening lineup with Anthony and Henning rotating in.

Georgia might have 4 TEs…

Georgia might have 4 TEs that are better than Erick Allen and I’m not joking. That’s not a knock on All either but he’s a top 10 TE in the class but not that elite group right now. We’ll see if he can raise his stock a little more this year.

Why does everyone keep…

Why does everyone keep saying that Jeter will be back? Participating in the pro day and everything he’s said/posted on social media says he’s gone.

I currently have us sitting…

I currently have us sitting at 89 scholarships. Hibner will have an interesting decision if he wants to wait one more year for playing time. He’s a rising Junior who hasn’t seen the field yet but next year all 3 TEs ahead of him will be gone. If he holds off the younger guys he’s presumably getting a bunch of PT as a 5th and 6th year player. We still have a few 3rd and 4th year players that haven’t played yet that may look to move on. So we’ll see how it plays out.

It’s taken 3 years because…

It’s taken 3 years because he had to completely change his body. He was the #1 DT prospect in the country coming out of high school and now he’s playing outside linebacker….Think about that for a second. He could have easily been a 3 tech in college (which I think he would have been dominant at), he played defensive end, and now he’s playing OLB. We can blame Don Browns scheme in that It didn’t really showcase Gary’s talents but everyone acting like they knew we should have had Gary playing as an outside linebacker at Michigan is lying to themselves.

There are plenty of articles that talk about how Gary had to lose weight and cut his body fat down significantly when he got to the NFL. I’m honestly amazed that he’s doing what he’s doing now at that position. We all new he was a freak but I didn’t think he would be able to move in space well enough to play OLB. The Packers use bigger OLBs so he fit exactly what they wanted.

Then the season is doomed…

Then the season is doomed because there's no way the coaching staff could scheme up short yardage plays for the guys they have on the roster. If you don't have a RB that weighs 220 you can't succeed on runs that are 3rd and 2 lol /s

Also why does everyone think these late RBs we are recruiting in the 2022 class will have a large role? Tavierre Dunlap would be the guy that would need to step up. Any running back we take now probably won't have a role for 2-3 years

It's hard to get back to…

It's hard to get back to back stud QBs in consecutive classes unless you're Bama/OSU. We're in on a bunch of top guys in the 2023 class. Also Bowman probably isn't leaving because of the exact scenario you laid out.

WR absolutely is stacked. We…

WR absolutely is stacked. We return all of our major contributors plus we get our best WR back. Regardless if Bell returns to form or not the WR room will be one of the strengths on the team next year

We should be at 89 now…

We should be at 89 now. Donovan Jeter on Instagram a few days ago made a post thanking all of the coaches and teammates for the season. Players don't usually do that if they are staying.

Donovan Jeter just announced…

Donovan Jeter just announced on twitter that this was his last year. Not coming back for a 6th

Everyone keeps trying to…

Everyone keeps trying to pass up Cornelius Johnson. He will be a starter next year.

Our nickel back is whoever…

Our nickel back is whoever can play the position. Dax played it because he was the best that could do it. It was a great spot to keep our best DB always active in the game, instead of having him play deep and not as involved. McBurrows. Johnson, Dennis, and Kody Jones will have the same opportunity to start as Rod Moore and some of the safeties. My best guess would be some mixture of McBurrows and Johnson. McBurrows had passed up all the DBs that are now transferring. He has the skill set to do it as well. Johnson is obviously the future at an outside corner spot but he could get mixed in situationally.

Where did you see anything…

Where did you see anything about Khalel Mullings? He has a decent chance to play a lot next year.

With COVID everybody got an…

With COVID everybody got an extra year. This season was his 5th. He’s in the same class as Honigford, Jeter, and Filiaga. All potential 6th year guys.
