07/18/2018 - 10:53pm Yeah not sure how its…

Yeah not sure how its trespassing if he didn't go into her apartment and just dropped the kid off and left. Unless he did do something more than is reported in the story, or she has a restraining order against him?

07/18/2018 - 8:04pm Yes breaking it down by…

Yes breaking it down by position groups is better since they started it as a quasi all Big Ten rankings. However I hate the slack chat format but I guess I'm in the minority on that.

07/11/2018 - 1:50pm It's harder to break into…

It's harder to break into the league than it is to stay in it. Walton played regular season games last year. It may not be with the Heat but he probably will get another 2 way contract.

07/11/2018 - 1:21pm Now if only they stopped…

Now if only they stopped having those stupid autoplay videos on every single page.

07/11/2018 - 9:25am I have to agree. Wolverines…

I have to agree. Wolverines Wire posts an article with Harrison's name in the headline about twice a week. They know that recruiting drives clicks, and this is the hot recruitment for 19. I do like the fact that there is another Michigan site putting out some good articles in the offseason, but it has its flaws. Hole may have some sources, but given that Petzold is 19 and a student at CMU, I doubt he has a lot of insider knowledge. It takes a long time to develop those relationships, Sam Webb has covered Michigan for almost 20 years and Hole for almost 10.

07/04/2018 - 11:32am Yeah I think the staff…

Yeah I think the staff considers them different positions. Sounds like they are pitching Gray to fill the Chris Evans role and Jackson they are telling him he will be used like McDoom.

07/01/2018 - 8:45pm If we get Cine then it doesn…

If we get Cine then it doesn't matter since we were recruiting both as viper. I wonder if PSU was recruiting them both for the same spot as well. Probably not since ones technically a OLB and the other a safety but who knows.

07/01/2018 - 8:38pm Was he seriously posting…

Was he seriously posting comments on 11 warriors?

06/30/2018 - 7:24pm The communication issue…

The communication issue could be that we are getting this story 3rd hand about his "friend's son". Considering everyone on this blog knew players would not be invited to fall camp (supposedly including scholarship guys), I doubt the guys at practice were unaware. It's still probably disappointing for the kid and his family.

06/23/2018 - 4:32pm Yeah we need someone to do…

Yeah we need someone to do an analysis of players who commit during Michigan camps. Seems like every summer there is consternation about an under the radar camp commit. Now that we have a few years of data maybe we can get some perspective.

06/21/2018 - 7:29pm Number of RB/Number of TE on…

Number of RB/Number of TE on the field. He's basically saying Michigan never has more than 2 WR on the field and Purdue uses 4 so recruits should go to Purdue over Michigan. It's what we say when a highly ranked TE ends up at a spread school.

06/20/2018 - 9:10pm So are you denying that you…

So are you denying that you were/are Maizen and that you were wrong about Beilein? You aren't really trying to have a discussion, at this point you're just trying to be inflammatory. Not to mention it does invalidate your point, because again it just proves you get upset about something and post a fire from the hip hot take, with no regard to context and lacking any basis.

To address the Harbaugh salary thing. No one is debating it or mad about it, you just keep going back to the same old well. And what are you trying to prove? That coaches should be paid according to their recruiting acumen and nothing else? Your example is weak so here is a better one: A few months ago, Stafford got the biggest contract in NFL history, then Garappolo then Cousins, then Ryan. Are any of them the best QB in the league right now? No. Sometimes the market and other forces push salaries out of line with performance. Just deal with it, it has no effect on your life. If you have such a problem with his salary then stop giving money to the athletic department through tickets and gear.

I also want to point out how dumb your money argument is that you keep posting on here. You said something to the effect that "OMG Michigan has spent all this money on a new stadium and $20 million on weight room and $15 million on a performance center". Well that ignores the fact that Ohio State spent $45 million, Clemson spent $50 million on their football performance center, Oregon spent $70 million. So maybe you should be yelling that we aren't spending enough to get recruits...

06/20/2018 - 6:03pm It's one thing to be…

It's one thing to be negative. There are posters that are consistently negative. It's just bluey that's obnoxious. Look at this thread, he's challenging people to link to his shit posts from an old account that got caved for being a douche. He knows it's impossible to prove he's maizen so he's being an ass about it.

Besides when his only reasoning is "Harbaugh makes $7 million" that's not analysis or information, that's a bullshit hot take.

06/20/2018 - 10:50am I think we probably have one…

I think we probably have one of the deeper QB rooms on that list. We have 2 guys that have actually started multiple college games, which barely any of those teams have.

Alabama is rated 2 based on 1 game from Tua and assuming Hurts stays. Not sure why the list includes transfers who are not eligible to play this year.

06/20/2018 - 10:25am It looks like we offered his…

It looks like we offered his brother and they have visited together twice now. His brother is most likely not our first option at RB and is more of a back up plan, likely the coaches told him that. That could be why Kalil committed and his older brother didn't. John is being pursued by Pitt, BC, and the MAC.

06/13/2018 - 10:39am I don't think this means…

I don't think this means anything regarding Peters. Harbaugh has been trying to get 5 scholarship QBs on the roster and in this day and age it's going to be really hard to get 2 QB recruits in the same class unless you take a complete flier on a guy. George gives you an extra body in the QB room who is probably better than a low ranked recruit or a freshman walk on. Doubt he ever plays.

06/07/2018 - 4:53pm I think most people don't…

I think most people don't understand that concept. People will often say things like "why are we spending money to pick up rocks on Mars? Who cares? I'd rather get free shit."

06/07/2018 - 4:48pm Yeah its a logistics issue…

Yeah its a logistics issue. Its hard to imagine a way for a species to "colonize" a galaxy or build a galactic empire. Even if they have sufficiently long lifetimes that they can travel from star to star, once they started expanding and inhabiting multiple systems, they would have to manage their colonies. How would you coordinate a government or respond to crises when your messages could take 1,000+ years to travel from location to location.

06/06/2018 - 12:54pm Your post above about Keegan…

Your post above about Keegan is incredibly ironic.

So first he likes Michigan, then a year before his signing day he was trending away from Michigan? Now he is trending back towards Michigan?

Hmm does that sound like someone else....

Its almost like things are incredibly fluid this far out.

Do you have a solution or do you just like bitching? Do you want to fire someone or something? We replaced 40% of our coaching staff over the off season and 2018 recruiting suffered for it. What we need right now is to have patience and keep some continuity, that way these coaches build relationships.

06/06/2018 - 12:47pm Yes 6 months from early…

Yes 6 months from early signing day recruiting rankings mean nothing!

18 months from signing day a HS sophmore's twitter means everything!

06/06/2018 - 12:03pm Currently sports games are…

Currently sports games are broadcast in 720p, so the 4K TV is just upscaling and sort of making up what to do with all the extra pixels. So for that reason you want to make sure the 4K TV has a good processor/upscale algorithm. The only thing you're going to be watching in true 4K right now is blu-rays and some video games. That said, 4K is worth it for future proofing. Streaming options are starting to offer more 4K content. Within a few years 4K will be common. Japan wants to broadcast the 2020 Olympics in 8K.

06/05/2018 - 8:50pm That's disappointing…

That's disappointing. Everyone had high hopes for both these guys when they signed. A recent 247 article with Crawford's sky high drop rate over 19% pretty much sums up what everyone thought about him last year. He seemed to regress.

Also I doubt the OL is Ulizio since he could grad transfer after this season. If it's an underclassman interior guy that makes sense why the recruiting class could have up to 7 OL with 4 OG.

05/26/2018 - 6:22pm Don't discount the brotherly

Don't discount the brotherly competition and motivation factor. If his brother is ahead of him that will just push him to practice and prepare harder. No one had heard of Jordan Glasgow then after his brothers go to the NFL he's suddenly getting practice hype. He certainly wasn't considered an athletic freak out of high school and now he's a well regarded backup.

05/26/2018 - 9:58am Not so fast

How do you know big time programs want them? An offer can mean many things.

05/23/2018 - 8:24pm Let's all take a break from

Let's all take a break from arguing about Lewerke and McSorely to notice that the B1G has the two worst QBs in the power 5.

05/23/2018 - 5:24pm Zyppah

The worst are radio commercials for Zyppah, which is just a angry New Yorker yelling at you to buy his dumb invention so you can stop snoring.

Kars 4 Kids is also terrible.

I laughed the first time I saw the Geico commercial with the sterotypical evil guy explaining his plan "Step 1: Choosing the right drill bit"

05/20/2018 - 10:08am Didn't Harbaugh say last fall

Didn't Harbaugh say last fall that they were going to spend part of every week practicing the game plan for OSU? I vaguely remember him saying that. That seems to be taking it more seriously than other games. I assumed that was why the OSU playcalling was the best of the season.

05/18/2018 - 12:26pm Running Games

The most interesting matchup will be the running games vs the d lines. ND was a top 5 rushing team last year but loses their 3 most important pieces (also some backup rbs) and replaces them with a lot of highly ranked recruits. Michigan was a top 15 rushing team that should only improve on the interior and RB wise. It's not a stretch that we could be the better running team this year.

Connelly notes that ND has a d line that can go 8 deep and that's what we are hoping for this year. I'm optimistic that our rushing attack will be better than them this game and grind the ND defense down.

05/14/2018 - 10:41am Its funny because all out of

Its funny because all out of staters say that its easier to get into UM being from instate because the school is a state institution and all instaters say that its easier to get in from out of state because the school makes more money on out of state kids for providing the same services.

I'll go with its easier to get admitted from out of state because money talks (and I'm from Michigan).

05/12/2018 - 10:49pm It's a lot better than Daniel

It's a lot better than Daniel

05/12/2018 - 7:44pm I get that. But I think some

I get that. But I think some of it has to do with the fact that he was once committed to OSU. It would be nice if he had a mutli TD game against them his senior year or something. Its unfortunate to see any player transfer though and I think Walker and Samuels would be a good RB group as upper classman.

Remember that Higdon had 11 att for 19 yds as a freshman and is now looking to have an all big 10 type season. Walker had 20 att for 68 yds and a TD last year. Plenty of time for him find his place in the stable.

05/12/2018 - 7:34pm I assumed that the comment

I assumed that the comment "Safety should stay!" meant that it was someone who was going to see significant playing time this year. Which is why I guessed Woods, since people think hes neck and neck with Metellus and probably views himself as a starter.

05/12/2018 - 3:18pm DE has to be Jones or

DE has to be Jones or Johnson. WR probably Crawford but could be McDoom. RB probably Walker unfortunately. S maybe Woods is frustrated he's not the starter? I don't see why any of the OL would transfer. The three RS juniors could grad transfer after the year and play right away, which I think is what likely happens if Runyan and Ulizio don't start. Even though we've heard nothing about Honigford, he has plenty of time to find snaps.

05/10/2018 - 6:57pm No keys to cities in other

No keys to cities in other states until he fixes instate recruiting.

05/10/2018 - 2:44pm S&P+ Sack Rates

Last year Ole Miss adj sack rate was 58th at 108..6 and pass downs sack rate was 92nd at 9.5.

Our adj sack rate was 117th at 69.7 and pass down sack rate was 104th at 10.2.

So despite the blocking in the videos, our advanced stats say Michigan is worse.

Some possibilities:

1. Shea is so mobile that he was propping up their sack rates despite their oline actually being worse than Michigan's.

2. Being down so much caused them to constantly be in passing down situations, where Michigan and Ole Miss are pretty similar.

3. Alabama is just better than any d-line we faced. Making the clips look especially bad.

4. Michigan's oline is truly much worse than Ole Miss's (which has NFL prospect Greg Little at LT) and every game is going to be a disaster where Shea is running for his life.

05/10/2018 - 2:24pm Since the players are not

Since the players are not being paid, why put them in the awkward position of signing things that people are going sell on the internet later? Sure, you can try to prevent the players from signing things, but if some random dealer thinks they can make money, they would pressure the players to sign.

05/09/2018 - 10:56am The point was we don't hear

The point was we don't hear the same things every time a new coach is hired/every off-season. Everyone is so cynical about the dumbing it down talk we are hearing about Warinner, saying we hear that all the time and the OL is still broken. I'm pointing out that the comments from the players are not just lip service, there may be something to it.

05/08/2018 - 5:00pm Since this sentiment has been

Since this sentiment has been repeated a lot I tried searching back through the archives of when Drevno and Frey were hired and the subsequent spring fluff articles and I havent been able to find the words: simpler, simplified, back to basics, etc. The descriptors around Drevno's hire seem to be intense, hard working, and tougher as compared to Hoke's tenure. (Harder working and tougher are probably about physicallity but could also apply to a more complicated offensive playbook). So yes all spring chatter is extremely optimistic, but there could be something to this whole simple approach thing.

05/08/2018 - 1:42pm I wonder if they would do

I wonder if they would do something with Milton like Texas did with their 18 wheeler package, where the QB was essentially a goaline fullback. Maybe if Mason isnt fully healed from injury.
Other than that I can't see what package he would be that great in. He isn't as dynamic in space as jabrill so wildcat will be less effective that it already was. RPO will be putting a lot of decision making on a true freshman.

05/07/2018 - 11:32pm A lot of the Tam'au hype

A lot of the Tam'au hype feels like wishful thinking from Ole Miss fans. I'm not convinced at this point.

05/07/2018 - 10:58pm Well then compare YPA where

Well then compare YPA where Patterson was over 7 ypa against those defenses and we had about 5.6 ypa. So still his numbers look a lot better. For reference 7ypa is about mediocre and 5.6 is about 50 spots in the rankings below that near the bottom in the NCAA.

05/07/2018 - 10:50pm Camps aren't the end all be

Camps aren't the end all be all cause let's face it, they have become commercialized just like the rest of college recruiting, but they do serve a purpose. Without camps how can you compare a Texas 6A player to a Rhode Island Division B player.

05/07/2018 - 4:50pm We only had one game with

We only had one game with more passing yards than Shea's average against top D, 284 yards against Purdue. And he has 100 yds/game higher than our average agaisnt top D. What a huge improvement over last year.

05/07/2018 - 12:41pm Yeah good point. But I think

Yeah good point. But I think theres already been at least 3 threads this offseason with the title "2019 in-state recruiting"

05/07/2018 - 12:38pm Saying Michigan should get

Saying Michigan should get all instate talent is making the implicit assumption they are fans. Otherwise what is the justification for arguing everyone living in the state should go to Michigan?

Also checking 247, I see 1 unofficial visit for Dobbs. Meanwhile he has made 6 to MSU and OSU. Is it possible that he just was never a fan of Michigan? So again, do you want the staff to keep pouring resources into recruiting a kid who isnt that interested at the expense of other recruits who are more likely to come?

05/06/2018 - 3:53pm We assume that all instate

We assume that all instate recruits should go to Michigan because the kid and their family grew up Michigan fans. Do you know for a fact that the Dobbs and Barnett families are life long Michigan fans?
We also assume that instate recruits will take multiple unofficial visits giving us an advantage. They haven't.
Do you want the coaching staff to keep pouring time and resources into pursuing two OL who aren't that interested at the expense of Harrod and Truss?

05/02/2018 - 10:07am Walking

Really good point. I forgot how miserable it is to not be able to walk to anything on north. If you get sick of dorm food your only option is to order delivery or bus to central. On north even when its nice youre less likely to be walking around campus.

05/02/2018 - 8:57am Central

Always put central as your first choice. Even if you're an engineer. There's so much more to Michigan than just going to class and most of it happens on Central campus. Also the first year you will probably have class on Central like anything in the math or physics department.
Then for North campus put Bursley first then Baits II then Baits I. Bursely is the largest so you meet the most people and it has the cafeteria. Baits II is closer to the cafeteria than Baits I.

04/30/2018 - 8:15pm I wouldn't put JBB and Jones

I wouldn't put JBB and Jones in the same list since they will never be on scholarship at the same time.
On average there should be 15-20 OL on the roster. Currently we have 14, with JBB for sure gone and Ulizio and Runyan threats to grad transfer. So yeah we probably need to take 1-2 more true tackle prospects to have 15-18 OL on the roster next year.

04/26/2018 - 1:38pm For Black Mirror I recommend

For Black Mirror I recommend people start with season 2. Then go back to season 1. Each episode is standalone so it doesn't matter and episode 1 of season 1 is so ridiculous it might put some people off.

Also if you like Black Mirror you should watch Electric Dreams on Amazon. Same premise but based on Philip K Dick stories (very loosely).
