OSU fans on our title game run
Some are salty, some a bit more reasonable, but most are quite unhappy that we are playing in the title game:

The weird thing about that--if you match up their first 8-10 years at each school, that would be a legitimate argument. Now, I don't think it's close in terms of game planning, game management, and talent development--Beilein is probably one of the Top 3 coaches in the NCAA. But when recruiting is factored in and overall team achievement is compared, Thad Matta had a great 8-year run at OSU. I have no idea how the bottom fell out for his program so quickly after the Aaron Craft class graduated.
Matta struck me as a really good recruiter and OK (not terrible, but just OK) bench coach. Recruiting takes a lot of energy, and his health started deteriorating. His later teams still had some quality players (like Bates-Diop) but weren't stacked like his earlier ones.
Don't care. If it were OSU playing 'Nova, I'd want the Wildcats to win by 50.
I don't really care about the conference either. They all hate Michigan for whatever reason. I've got a buddy who's a big Northwestern fan and it's killing him that we made it this far LOL
In the November/December games, I have no problem with them or any other B1G team doing well. Those are important for the league's RPI.
In the tournament though? No way.
I "root" for OSU in a fair amount of non-conference football games. By "root", I mean that I, in advance, mentally justify being happy if they win to boost the Big Ten, but I'm always still happy if they lose.
It's interesting how no one - not even Spartans or Buckeyes - can bring themselves to hate Beilein.
They finished one game out of winning the regular season title and beat us...I question whether you actually watch games because most of your takes are flat out wrong.
Fuck Ohio. I actively root again them in all sports.
I generally root for the Big 10 in situations like this. I think I rooted for OSU against Florida a decade a go. I remember feeling dirty but generally want the conference to look good. Also, I've just never liked Villanova. OSU football is much tougher to root for than the basketball team in my opinion.
Agreed. If MSU and OSU were in the title game, after spending a day of reflection reminding myself of all the reasons I have to live, I would pull for the Buckeyes without any hesitation or guilt.
I meant if MSU and OSU were playing each other in the title game.
I just get so sick of ESPN talking about the SEC all the time in football and the ACC in basketball. I was genuinely proud when the Big 10 had perfect record in the bowl games before the Michigan game. For some reason I like to see the conference do well. I was giddy when MSU lost to Syracuse. In state bragging rights are nice. I don't really see OSU as a rival in basketball for some reason so I don't actively root for them to fail as much. I just don't hate them the way I do in football.
F-osu
Sparty fans have been far saltier than Bucknut fans as a rule
OSU hasn't won a hoops natty in 58 years.
Let's not tempt the basketball gods with this horrific abbreviation. If you can't bring yourself to write out "national championship," "title" will work in context. :)
“It would be TORCHER watching them cut down the nets.”
1. If that was written on a blog or website, shame on the osu fan for showing this much grammatical ignorance.
2. If that was a mistake by the Michigan Insider crew quoting the fan...well....I don’t know what to say
Even SWEETER knowing OSU fans are seething in jealousy..3 elite 8s 4 sweet 16s 2 Final Fours 2 Title games, Big Ten regular season and Tournament Titles.....just in the last 6 years....
If they were the better team, they’d be the ones playing for it all. They would’ve found a way to beat a lowly Penn State team at least once in three tries.
As we've gotten farther into the tournament, the "easiest path" talk has irritated me more and more, and for those that have seen me occasionally go on about "MSU Neighbor" on Twitter, he is one of the people who continues to beat this drum. I think the answer is simple - play who is in front of you. You certainly can't help your position in the brackets or the outcome of games in that bracket, so play who is in front of you. As I like to ask him lately, "Hey, how'd that Syracuse game go? I didn't see the end, I'm afraid..."
I just don't take MSU fans' complaints seriously. I mean, they lost to an 11 seed that was the very last team in the field. It's a bit ironic for them to complain about someone else getting an easy draw.
I'm just glad we gave them someone to root against tomorrow night. It must have been boring sitting at home these last couple of weekends with nothing to do.
