01/23/2019 - 2:02pm General recruiting question…

General recruiting question.

I know we aren't going to pay $$$$ for the 5 stars, but shouldn't we expect a bit of a bump after the last couple years of on court results?

01/20/2019 - 8:20pm Yes, I saw that.

The fairly…

Yes, I saw that.

The fairly obvious observation is hard to prove is not impossible to prove.

01/20/2019 - 6:41pm Once again, you inherent…

Once again, you inherent inability to apply facts in an evenhanded manner is completely lacking.

Just above this comment from you about the new AGs allegedly making some controversial comments that you view in the worst light is a comment from you about Englers well documented history or making inappropriate remarks demanding they be viewed in a positive light.

A light so absurdly positive that I dare suggest that Engler himself would be offended.

01/20/2019 - 6:37pm As I understand it, you are…

As I understand it, you are a mod.

Suggest to the powers that be a character minimum and maximum for headlines.

Then, we can all be spared literally thousands of annual comments complaining in Goldilocks fashion of headlines being just a little too long or just a little too short.

01/20/2019 - 6:34pm Well done ladies

Well done ladies

01/20/2019 - 6:25pm Why is it so hard for you to…

Why is it so hard for you to acknowledge that Engler and the MSU board was - and possibility is - what you find at the bottom of an outhouse at a DTE after a Gratetful Dead show?

01/20/2019 - 5:20pm Once again, your love for…

Once again, your love for Engler blimds you to pertinent facts.

Perles resigned on November 29th.

I am pretty sure that Engler knew almost a month after the election who the governor was going to be.

Keep swinging off his jockstrap though.

01/19/2019 - 1:34pm I wonder if Brasdakis still…

I wonder if Brasdakis still wants to play Duke?

01/19/2019 - 12:40pm Thanks for the answer.

I…

Thanks for the answer.

I have feeling we are very very close to a situation where all transfers will routinely have immediate eligibility. For good or ill, teams will end up having to work the portal nearly as much as they do high school recruiting.

Need an OT? Scour the portal.

I suspect we are right on the cusp of this and I don’t want Michigan left behind.

01/19/2019 - 11:34am Magnus, I have a question if…

Magnus, I have a question if you are in a position to answer- now that the use of the NCAA transfer portal has seemingly exploded in just a few months, is there someone on staff assigned to monitor it basically 24/7?

I’m not so much asking about Michigan players who might leave, but also do monitor other players who might be of use on our team.

Do you know how this works? Is there someone assigned to view game films on transfers in the portal to assess whether they might be of help?

Thanks

While I agree with you, most on this blog failed your “knowledge test” and were rooting for OSU v Maryland.

01/18/2019 - 1:14pm So these tournaments get…

So these tournaments get roughly twice the viewership of American Idol or the other singing competition shows.

Would you be in favor of competitive Karaoke then?

01/18/2019 - 1:08pm You have to be kidding me…

You have to be kidding me. This is insane.

01/17/2019 - 10:16pm You are contradicting…

You are contradicting yourself and accidentally buttressing my argument.

If the movement of a single player to a different time zone can affect interest and viewership this much it’s proof that the product sucks.

You even admit a Knicks Wizards matchup sucks. It’s basically glorified WWE with a ball and a hoop.

By the way, when previous iterations of the Lakers were the epicenter of the NBA you did not hear excuses about time zones.

01/17/2019 - 9:17pm They could also try playing…

They could also try playing basketball.

I’m going to go all “get off my lawn” here but when I was a kid in the 70s, there was basketball and then the touring Harlem Globetrotters.

Kids loved the Globetrotters. Trick shots. Curly Neal making improbable half court shots on the regular. Clowning  the refs and the other team.

However, everyone knew the Globetrotters weren’t a team they were showmen. Actors playing roles in simulated games.

Largely, in the past 40 years, basketball has disappeared on the professional level and now there are 32 versions of the Globetrotters.

The fans have noticed.

Feel free to recharacterize Warde's conduct in this manner in any way you wish, but it was shameful.

01/17/2019 - 3:30pm Why isn't Warde speaking on…

Why isn't Warde speaking on this?

It's 100% his fuckup the way this was handled.

Warde's responses:

1. Try to hide behind weak PR statement

2. Try to hide behind the gymnast's skirts

3. Try to hide behind Plocki's skirt

Warde fucked this up by not holding a press conference, and he's fucking up again not standing up and taking the heat for this. He should be answering for this, not Plocki.

If this is true and Engler is out can someone please put Section 1.8 on suicide watch?

01/16/2019 - 12:40pm Can I summarize this with a…

Can I summarize this with a European military history comparison?

We are France. A once upon a time Empire which could rival any on earth. Numerous colonies. Great achievements in architecture and art. Class all the way. Even our most venerated Emperors or Kings are not tremendously as despised as those of other vast former empires.

OSU is Germany. They come along and ruthlessly kick our asses whenever they feel like it. They take over our cultural centers and museums and while they gaze at the ancient art we possess, they aren’t quite sure what it is and certainly do not understand it. They end up trying to steal it or trade it for a cooler or a spittoon.

Of course as France, we mount a dedicated and token resistance. Hiding in basements and church vestibules, singing the old songs and remembering the days of past glory. All the while hoping and praying that one day the siege of the culturally primitive Germans ends.

Then, one shining day, there is an invasion of the beaches. The Germans fight, but are outmanned and outschemed. We celebrate the great victory and barely notice the markings on the tanks chasing the Germans back to Germany.

Those tanks are labeled SEC or sometimes ACC.

How about we change history and next time kill the Germans ourselves?

01/16/2019 - 8:04am No.

One of the differences…

No.

One of the differences between us and OSU and MSU is we aren’t as obsessed with them as they are with us.

Can you imagine a scenario where we kick OSUs ass for two decades and still cared about them?

Hell if that happened we would be petitioning the B1G office to put another game at the end of the season.

01/15/2019 - 10:39pm On hockey. The NHL has a…

On hockey. The NHL has a draft lottery like the NBAs. It isn’t quite as weighted as the NBAs so teams from far down can and do win it.

Having said that, I also want the Wings to lose.

As far as Hughes goes, he didn’t have a great WJC so he may have slipped a bit in the draft order.

01/15/2019 - 5:51pm It is fairly obvious that…

It is fairly obvious that Engler saw that UM had taken some of the negative publicity for the Nassar scandal away from MSU by hiring Faehn. He wasn’t going to stand for not getting 100% of the well deserved scorn, so he had to tweak and disrespect the victims to try and grab all the bad PR from wannabees like Warde.

Anytime you have an opportunity to get connected to Samoan defensive lineman, do it.

01/13/2019 - 11:17am Here is my two question job…

Here is my two question job interview for a future DL coach:

In the event that a defensive lineman realized his pass rush isn’t going to get him to the quarterback, should he be coached to get his hands up and try and tip passes?

If you are facing a mobile quarterback, is it a viable defensive strategy to not attempt to sack the quarterback, but to instead try to collapse the pocket around him and force him to throw?

For all the deserved props we all gave Greg Mattison through the years, I have always been amazed how our DL has always seemed to treat a thrown pass like it was a shotgun blast. We have also had huge problems keeping certain qbs in the pocket as we all know.

01/12/2019 - 7:38pm Wins and losses as your only…

Wins and losses as your only criteria ends up with you being MSU or OSU.

01/12/2019 - 7:36pm Not currently under…

Not currently under indictment is the hiring and admittance standard at MSU.

We are supposed to be better than that.

Way fucking better.

Fantastic hire for UM Gymnastics, and if UM hadn’t hired her, I was going to hire her tomorrow!

@MSUPresEngler

01/11/2019 - 11:11am No. This sucks ass.

No. This sucks ass.

01/08/2019 - 5:18pm I do not know where you get…

I do not know where you get your data, but it's wrong.

We have played South Carolina and Florida State at least three times I can remember in the last 30 years.

01/08/2019 - 1:08pm Exhibit A that a large part…

Exhibit A that a large part of our fanbase are morons.

The B1G schedule rotates. There is no one getting screwed.

01/07/2019 - 5:52pm Would we have any interest…

Would we have any interest in Ron Burton (MSU's DL coach)?

He seems to get a lot of mileage out of 2 and 3 star recruits.

01/06/2019 - 10:02am I don’t really care who the…

I don’t really care who the last unbeaten team ends up being, but I would like to spend a couple weeks at #1 this season.

Its been awhile.

01/06/2019 - 12:35am AC.

AC.

01/02/2019 - 5:56pm There is no way your take is…

There is no way your take is true.

Let's take just the last drive of the 1st half in the OSU game.

Taking over the ball with :41 seconds left, OSU ran SEVEN plays against Michigan.

Michigan would be lucky to get 3 plays in 41 seconds.

01/02/2019 - 12:23pm One thing about the Harbaugh…

One thing about the Harbaugh era that I completely misread was I would have argued in 2015 on his hiring through the entire 2015 season at Michigan that his career showed that he was willing to adapt his offensive approach to the skill sets of his roster (Kap for Smith, blocky catchy types at Stanford, breaking a lot of tendencies in the 2015 season at Michigan).

However the last three years has proven me wrong. He's not willing to adapt to the opponent, the score in the game or his roster. I don't mind having fullbacks on the roster and on the field, but when we used the fullbacks in previous seasons it was a bit of a surprise for the opponent and now if you take an honest look at the offense and asked yourself, "what is Michigan's bread and butter play?" the only answer is a Ben Mason rush for 1 yard (hopefully).

Not only are we one of the few schools to regularly use a fullback, we have to be the only school where the defense is going to key on the fullback 100% of the time as everyone knows that fullback is never the lead blocker - he's going to get the ball.

I do wonder if losing that OSU game in 2016 broke JHs spirit. He's not the same guy at all.

01/01/2019 - 7:13pm What has happened to…

What has happened to Michigan is not luck.

If you can accept that you will be much better off.

It’s bad enough that Matt Stafford gets to hand pick his OC, but now they let him pick his backups too?

WTF!

12/31/2018 - 8:45pm Their season was downward…

Their season was downward for sure, but that was baked into the cake before today.

12/31/2018 - 8:43pm I was hoping to hear he was…

I was hoping to hear he was going to the NFL.

12/31/2018 - 8:25pm We have no reason to be…

We have no reason to be doing the Sparty thing today and reveling in their loss.

Facts:

1.They came 25 pts closer to winning than we did.

2. Their players looked like they wanted to win.

3: Today’s results did not mark a downward trend in either their season or their programs trajectory.

12/31/2018 - 6:31pm I suspect I’m going to get…

I suspect I’m going to get negged for this, but this isn’t the same guy who slapped Jim Schwartz on the back or denounced the horrid officiating after the 2016 OSU game.

The fire seems gone.

12/30/2018 - 5:50pm I can’t believe they played…

I can’t believe they played Stafford.

Idiots

12/30/2018 - 1:30pm I have a suspicion that JH…

I have a suspicion that JH has brought a NFL/business atmosphere to UM. This is necessary if your desire is to emulate Alabama and OSU as they have long had business atmospheres - but you are going to alienate a lot of players if they perceive they are basically employees and disposable.

12/30/2018 - 1:26pm You are probably wrong about…

You are probably wrong about #1.

The NFL will begin to take notice that JH does not gameplan, self scout or apparently know what tempo or a 2 minute offense is.

All those things are necessary skills in NFL coaching jobs located outside of the state of Michigan.

12/30/2018 - 1:20pm If you don’t think the…

If you don’t think the offense needs a total overhaul, let me ask you this - what is Michigans bread and butter play?

Consider the ramifications if you can’t answer.

12/30/2018 - 1:14pm Sorry, but it is not…

Sorry, but it is not arguable that this was Harbaughs best team.

The 2016 team would beat this team 31-10
