Check in if you’re already over it

F*** 2017. F*** that bowl game. It’s over. It’s done. Next year will be much better! The players will be faster, stronger, and smarter. The coaches will call better games. 2018 will be a team we can all be proud of! 8-5 will be this regime’s floor. Not 3-9. Not 4-8. 8-5 is as low as we go, and we just got through it! Sign in if you’re optimistic, because the alternative is for losers! GO BLUE REGARDLESS!

Over it? No. Unfortunately bowl losses live on for yrs. Especially those to lousy teams. I can handle tough losses to good teams. The Gamecocks are a third rate SEC school that lowly Kentucky spanked this year and has defeated 3 of past 4 seasons. Just a pitiful loss to a crap team.

Honestly, I think we'll get to 8 or 9 wins again next year. The schedule is just brutal and there would have to be big changes to see that reflect in our overall record. I think they'll be better, but not so much as to push for the division title.

Very much so. After holding my 10 month old daughter after the game was over and learning about a family decimated by one of their own children minutes before New Year's, I got over a football game very quickly.

I got over it about 10 mins after the game yesterday, but here’s the deal: right now I have zero confidence that next year will be any better. Once again, the whole offense is a question mark next season, and until proven otherwise, the OL is a glaring weakness.

OSU is still OSU and may be even better with Haskins, MSU will be even better, PSU will step back without Barkley but they will still be contenders, and Wisconsin will still be an extremely tough game. And then there’s ND, and depending on what Frost can do with Nebraska they could be a very tough game too.

If we play those games like we played yesterday, that is automatically six losses right there.

Your point being?

Wisconsin has been among probably the top-10 most consistent programs in America over the last decade. They're good for 10 win seasons every year. Now yes, some of that has to do with the weak division they play in. But wins are wins. And with the talent they are able to churn out with a relatively minimal talent level compared to UM, OSU and PSU, it's amazing what they can do.

They're still going to be a very tough game next year even if they lose everyone.

Our catastrophically terrible year was an 8-5 year. We have a very good head coach with an excellent track record who will make changes. Whatever.

I have Late Lloyd, RichRod, and Brady Hoke PTSD.

To fight it, I have to keep stating the facts: the offense was a rebuilding project that Jim has been able to paper over with transfers and good coaching until now.  There was no way to paper over the hole in our offensive line recruiting, especially with the Grant Newsome injury.

We're basically back to the Llyod Carr years which were pretty good in retrospect. 7-5 is terrible for Michigan and is unacceptable, but it is tied for the second best non-Llyod non-Harbaugh season we've had in the last decade or so. Llyod also wasn't on a third string QB and didn't have to deal with the failures of Brady Hoke's O-line recruiting/development. I'm worried about the tackles next year like everyone else, but there are a number of guys that can step up to be dudes next year. (Hudson, Filiaga, stueber, etc.) assuming Patterson or McCaffery or Peters steps up next year and our WRs learn to catch and the RBs can create something against solid defenses, we should be better on offense.... fuck. I was trying to talk myself up. Our offense was a tire fire this year. If anyone can fix it, it is Harbaugh.

we have to stop the turnovers

cost us at LEAST 2 wins

that will come with better QB play and better experience for our kick returner

I am excited for the future - not a glass half empty type person this board is full of

Lol exactly.. I was just pondering that.. we had leads late into games or one play away from beating msu even with the turnovers and a 3rd string qb most of the yr. If our lineup stayed intact the entire year with what we saw in the Florida game I think we easily win 10 games. If speight plays against osu we win that as well I think

Been over the season for a while. No excuses next season, though. Loaded with experience. Brutal schedule? Sure thing! Good teams win tough road games. Better sack up, Wolverines.

“Next Year” for the 20th season in a row. Tired of it. This is an 8-9 win team max unless some serious coaching changes are made and the OL improves significantly.

Is it what you want to see? Fuck no! Will it be tough to enjoy EDSBS this off-season? Maybe. With all that went wrong this year and all the apparent flaws. There is no better person on the planet to tirelessly get this thing right. I know he'll do what he thinks is right to develop these young bucks and improve the win total.

I'm not all rah rah about next year (and the future) as I was before yesterday...

But I still believe that the 2017 team will be Jim Harbaugh's worst.

It's been easier to get over losses ever since our loss to MSU this year. That took the life out of me and took me a week to recover. Then I knew how shitty this year was going to be

I was over it as soon as the game was over. It's just a game. I get great enjoyment watching Michigan, but when it's all said and done, it's just a game that I didn't even play in. I cheered through the Appalachian State loss, the Rodriquez years, the Hoke meltdown. I'll be a cheering and excited next year again.

Fortunately we bring back nearly everyone on both sides of the ball. At some point the ball will bounce our way, the coaching staff will step up its game, and I will be happy I paid my PSD.

I’ll get in on the positive train. I have been talking people off the ledge for two days. Next year will be a special one for this program. Book it.

I agree, I can't take losing to dogshit teams we should steam roll.. the bad playcalling.. peters looked so uncomfortable as a qb.. awful pocket presence.. I see what the coaches meant when they said he wasn't ready yet.... When we drove it down the field and higdon had some good runs then we throw it 3 fucking times and peters throws the int..

I'm over it, I'm hopeful and excited for next year. Thank god I live in los angeles and there isnt a spartan or buckeye in sight, I've known one (MSU) in the last 20 years and he was a cool guy that didn't rib me too hard and moved back to the midwestern tundra long ago. I feel for you guys.

Disappointing loss - I hate to call it a meaningless game because I know it meant a lot to the players. Fifteen of yesterday's starters have two or more years of eligibility remaining. It will be interesting to see how Harbaugh responds in the off season. 2018 will be better even with the tough schedule.

I'm so over it, I requested tickets for South Bend on Sept 1st and took next new years week off because I plan to be somewhere warm watching UM play in a big time bowl game. Go Blue!!

The team is set up really well for next year. Building this year, and some bad luck with injuries, however silver lining getting younger players experience.

But curious to see what will change between now and Sept. 1. I know Harbaugh can't be happy, so something will change. A bit worried that my long time fellow alum who has found fault with every coach since Bo may finally go Dr. Frankenstein and try to bring him back. That's the only thing that will get him over it.
