I…

Nothing will happen.

I've seen this movie before. No on with authority will do anything.

09/13/2018 - 10:03am Definitely not. Context…

Definitely not. Context matters and it has basically been 2 games with a competent QB that he's working with and the most recent one was a blowout win in which we had a dominating rushing attack and throwing the ball was not necessary.

If anything, I've seen his incredible athleticism in play on the punt returns.

So no. Not at all.

It just hit me that Urban Meyers initials or UM.

Saying that Thomas and Watson would be a top 3-4 pairing in the Big after Ambry only having practice hype and small sample last year is....bold

08/21/2018 - 11:02am I hear what you're saying…

I hear what you're saying but if you just look at the weight difference in the players and notice how it is distributed on the body(OL looking a bit more trim with same weight) they're still very significant improvements. I mean Evans maintained his bodyfat % and added 10+ lbs. That's huge for an athlete.

08/20/2018 - 2:21pm I mean, it has to be Iggy. 5…

I mean, it has to be Iggy. 5 star talent, skilled scorer, big body. We know what we're getting with Livers. Upside for Iggy could be huge.

Come Football season I'll take Brian and Ace off seasonal timeout on twitter. I'll save the wtka roundtable session for Saturday am and listen to it before the game. Works great.

He's actually taken the high road a few times in his career. Good for him. I hate OSU as much as the next guy but I also look at people as individuals. I don't love Pryor but I respect him and his ability to keep a level head in the heat of the moment and shortly after. (See Janoris Jenkins tweets at him)

It's almost as if they're trying to only release the worst stuff for the fans. I bought and love the Jordan 32's but most of the rest I've seen is just awful.

This is the way to go IMO in the twitter era. No twitter announcement. Just chuck up the deuces and move one. I imagine it is tough to stay at the appropriate weight with a broken foot in the spring and as someone who has been known to carry some extra weight around.

Best of luck sir!

Would love to see Urban get fired. I feel as though there is a .00001% chance of that happening.

07/31/2018 - 9:46am Sorry John. You were part of…

Sorry John. You were part of the worst QB duo at Michigan I have seen in my lifetime outside of 08 and even then they may have been better. At least those guys had much worse talent around them for us to accept that the year was a wash.

The fans don't like you because you are a whiner and you turned what could have been an amazing season with the talent around you into a giant disappointment with your absolute trash play. We can accept that and move on as we must, but then you start taking shots at the fanbase? That's not a good idea my friend. People were willing to move past it and accept you as someone who tried their best, despite the results. Not so much anymore.

This made me laugh out loud. Thanks

07/18/2018 - 11:04am No. I started checking it…

No. I started checking it less when the politics nonsense happened and Ace started doing whatever it was he was doing on twitter. The new site not so much.

Brian puts out good content, still here for that as that's what brought me to the site. It's probably a good thing honestly.

3 plays into his film I had seen everything I needed to. Stud!

06/25/2018 - 2:09pm Looking at the picture at…

Looking at the picture at the top and the video at the bottom it is hard to reconcile the two as he looks big in the video and super skinny up top. Doesn't remind me of Khaleke athletically. People either really underrate his athletic ability or maybe I overrate him,  but this guy looks to be a few notches below where Khaleke was coming out of HS.

Camp video had him looking slower than a 4.5 40. 4.6-4.7 in the 40 makes a lot more sense than 4.5.

After watching the film he looks like a properly rated 3* IMO. Hope everything works out. Whenever I see Baseball involved I get a bit nervous...

My rooting interest is in direct proportion to my 23andMe report. Haha!

06/15/2018 - 10:03am This is dead on. Keto should…

This is dead on. Keto should be high fat, moderate protein(too much protein will kick you out of ketosis), and very low carb. For the first 3-4 days go 50g-70g carbs. This is actually much harder than you might think it would be.

To get to 50g carbs you're basically eating meat and veggies. No sauces, no add ons, minimal fruit and specific fruits are a no go. What carbs you take in should not be high glycemic carbs, they will kick you out of ketosis. The hardest part of Keto is getting in to ketosis the first few times. You can do it artificially with a drink but those are designed for performance enhancement and I would tell you that the first time you do it, do it without supplementation to prove you can actually follow the diet.

06/14/2018 - 11:03am Current Minneapolis resident…

Current Minneapolis resident and love the place. St Paul....not as much, but nothing wrong with the place.

St Paul isn't bad either but the crime is a bit worse and if you're looking for stuff to do, Minneapolis is a better bet. Everything in St Paul shuts down super early.

Both great cities but very different vibes in each. Minneapolis is energized, young, things to do, people to see, faster paced. St Paul is relaxed, smaller, cute and feels like there is more tradition there.

05/23/2018 - 10:47pm To clarify

I understand and agree with the fact they serve two different purposes and audiences. My point is, why proactively attack other blogs? I will bet there is a ton of people who don’t know about mgoblog that read barstool that would love it. For 20-30 yr olds they’re the top sports media company by a long shot. All I said was that I would find a way to put my emotions aside and make a wise business decision. Mgo can do as they wish and should but I don’t love the nastiness and hate they put towards people that like barstool. Some people like both kinds of content, fun and deep.

05/23/2018 - 9:40pm Nailed it

I agree with you on virtually everything. He has his views, and I respect his right to have and express them. I follow for Football content and will start following again when that starts back up, but I’m not in for the unwarranted attacks and political nonsense. Your definition of virtue signaling is dead on and if you did have social media you would see that he does this fairly often.

05/23/2018 - 6:34pm ...

05/23/2018 - 6:34pm ...

Not sure if this reply was meant for me but...

I don't think anyone needs to cede to anyone else. I'm stating that if I was a business person running a sports blog had an opportunity, or could create an opportunity to massively broaden the awareness and traffic to my blog I would do it. Especially when the blog in question is the one that dominates my audience and target demographic and is run by a fellow alumn.

I can understand the frustration Ace and Brian feel that this asshat Portnoy is dominating the space they live in and due to that they harbor ill will towards him and his company. I get it, but bashing the success of others is always a bad look, period.

I'm not an asshole online or in person. If you understand the definition of the term you cannot deny that Ace is someone who is constantly virtue signalling.

05/23/2018 - 2:35pm I'd be interested to see the Portnoy stuff

Portnoy is a massive d bag, BUT if I were in the Michigan Football biz, I would try to find a way to do some crossover. Getting some of the traffic they produce could produce enough revenue to get a new site finally....

Ace has gotten the mute button from myself and I'm sure a number of other people that read this site and are on twitter. His bashing of anything Barstool and virtue signaling on twitter is just confirming the pretentious vibe he puts off. I mean, PMT is one of the tippy top podcasts in all of sports and you're acting like you're above them? Hilarious.

05/22/2018 - 6:21pm Comeback

Late game comebacks where we won the game in fantastic ways.

Felt like during the late 90's and early 2000's, no matter the situation we had a shot at winning and we always did.

05/22/2018 - 5:58pm Jerseys

I miss jerseys from the 90's and 2000's. When every school had their own uniform but it wasn't so space age looking. Don't get me wrong I don't hate the innovations that Oregon has brought completely.

There was just something to having consistency with the uniforms. Michigan was Maize and Blue. Ohio States, regardless of how I feel about them as a team, have awesome uniforms, road and home. All this gloss, matte, super shiny stuff and stuff was cool at first and now it is just insanity.

Bring me back the classic uni's and grass fields. Man I miss all grass fields.

05/21/2018 - 1:55pm Definitely

Definitely use a pitchfork. Sooooo much easier. You can always shovel the reamaining stuff when you have a small amount left but a bulk of it should be done with a pitchfork.

05/17/2018 - 5:57pm Root for both

I agree with the root for both. But I went to Iowa and was a Michigan fan since I was 4. Can't root against Michigan for a place I went to school out of convenience.

05/17/2018 - 5:08pm Harbaugh didn't use Peppers appropriately

Putting him at Runningback would've made him a Heisman contender and us a very scary team to face. Putting him on an already awesome Defense was fun but a waste.

05/16/2018 - 6:58pm .

Maybe he did, but Lloyd still acted in his own best interests and not in the best interests of Michigan. Rich Rod is part of it but there are a number of other things that he did(or didn't do, like recruit in his last few years) that lead me to my conclusion.

05/16/2018 - 6:52pm A couple

Mgoblog unpopular opinions -

The Mgoblog staff hate on Barstool and act as though they are better than the Barstool guys but rip off jokes heard days before on Pardon My Take. Not a huge Barstool guy but PMT is legit and with what they've built with their podcast and following is very impressive.

This site isn't as good at covering Basketball as it thinks it is.

Harbaugh uses too many RB's to the point where none can get in a rhythm. Would like to see a main back and then a few specialists in specific situations but stick with the hot guy. Use only 3 RBs per game, 4 max.

Lloyd Carr damaged Michigan football for years because of his own selfishness

**Edit**

I hesitate to even post this but... Bo Schembechler was overrated.

05/10/2018 - 2:26pm Not convinced

I struggle to be convinced either way. If you watch games from the 90's now you'll see the defense is NOT NEARLY what people make it out to be.  Couple that with the fact that Lebrons physicality would have been more of an advantage in the 90's and I start to lean towards Lebron. He also has had trash teams and has had to play against the Warriors who are much better than anyone Jordan faced in his prime, and to me that's undebatable.

That being said, Lebron has some serious shortcomings. There are a lot of factors as to why LeBron doesn't have as many rings, but at some point rings DO matter. I like that Jordan was basically playing for 1 team(I get the whole Wizards thing but barely factor that into this conversation) and LeBron has played for 2 and will likely play for 3 teams in trying to match what Jordan did. Other than rings and emotional reasons, I don't think I can say Jordan is better than Lebron but I struggle to say the opposite as well.

Something I don't think a lot of people take in to consideration is that Kobe is basically MJ lite...BUT he was likely a better player. Kobe is MJ if MJ could shoot threes, from a talent only perspective. I think what Kobe did is what happens to MJ if he is reinvented in a different era.

At the end of the day though, I strongly believe Kobe is not in the GOAT convo, and like MJ as the GOAT but think LeBron is probably the Most Unstoppable player there ever was, regardless of era.

04/13/2018 - 3:54pm My opinions

Came off well:

Harbaugh, Pep, Gary, Mo, Karan, Chris, Most of the other players, Sarah(shes a saint), Don Brown. So far I'm 5 episodes in so more maybe to come.

Some of these guys came off extremely well. I mean Rashan's part blew me away. I did not konw what kind of guy he is, the passion, the struggle with his family, etc. Cheers to him. Loved Karan, and really liked Pep as well. One of my favorite parts is after the MSU loss when Harbaugh is home with his wife and she says something to him and he just totally ignores her and you can tell he's in another world. These guys care a lot about Michigan.

Came off not as well:

O'Korn and Speight, Drev. Drev seemed like he was as others have said, just along for the ride. O'Korn seemed like he did not have a grasp of his own talent level. He just wasn't that good and couldn't play within himself. Wilton just came across as a little kid/immature. His girlfriend also came off very poorly, IMO.

Neutral:

Peters

04/13/2018 - 2:15pm Wild fan

Hard to watch the Wild and Jets because I'm so conflicted. Want the UM guys to do good but definitely a Wild fan.

Crosby is insane and from everything I can tell a genuine and good guy. One of the greatest of all time as well. I can't root against him.

04/13/2018 - 11:02am Probably

Probably in the same way most Dr's make it without having basic nutritional science knowledge. Things are changing in both fields and a lot of the people in those fields aren't keeping up on everything because they're busy, they don't see it as relevant, or just don't care. *shrug*

After watching the Amazon series and listening to interviews with coaches around th country on other podcasts I'm amazed at how little intellectual thought there is in coaching. Everyone is just running a system and there is blind loyalty to the system based on who their mentor was, or what they came up doing.

My 2 cents.

04/10/2018 - 2:17pm Iowa

Go to the Iowa spring game. When in school there I went to the Spring game every year. Every year you got to watch them punt for a couple hours and run a few run plays.
